There seems to be either a leak or water coming into that unit. I had water come into my storage unit onto my boxes. That stuff had water on it. Stuff that was in plastic bins was fine. On a positive note your staff was great. Everyone I interacted with in person was nice. They make your place nice.

Saturday 04/13/2024 was the last straw for receiving incorrect information. I have been more than patient with U-Haul services I explained to Management my issues with U-Haul from beginning. So after the last episode I made the decision to just end my dealings right there. Customer service needs to be up to par. Other than that everything else was pretty good way better than one on Walsingham

But every time I came to the unit, he was there. He would be drinking beer, watching football, and napping. Whether or not they think he’s living there, he’s not supposed to be loitering. Well, at least that’s what my lease says. Perhaps he has a different lease.

MIKE B | Overall ExperienceMonths ago I asked to get a clicker for the gate. I was charged $5 and I was given a clicker. When I went to try out the first time the clicker did not open the gate. I drove back to the office and told them it didn't work. I was told they're working on the gate and to try it again in a few days. I went back about a week later to the storage facility and the clicker still did not open the gate. I went back to the office a fourth time and asked if I could get a different Clicker. I was told it probably wouldn't make a difference because they're phasing out the clickers anyway. How frustrating that was! Wasn't I just told at the beginning the clickers are being phased out. The time and energy wasted going back and forth to resolve an issue that wasn't resolvable is ridiculous!!

Colleen C | Overall ExperienceI’ve been a customer of this facility on & off for over 5 years and, until this past year I never had any concerns or issues. Since the new manager took over my experience has been much different; in some respects quite concerning. Over the past few months my gate code would suddenly be “denied access”. When I’d call the office to advise & find out what was wrong I was told there were “system issues”. The “system” randomly resulted in: 1. my code being deleted & replaced with a new number which I wasn’t made aware of 2. my access was changed from “storage hours” to “office hours” 3. no gate access for the entire last month I was there - yet had paid for I shared my frustration with a male rep at the office as well as with Mimi and requested a refund for the 4 weeks of denied access. I wasn’t offered a new code to use during this so called “system issue” and ultimately had no autonomous entrance to my belongings. During this time frame on a few occasions when I was there hoping it would work, I observed several customers coming & going and the gate access worked just fine. It very much felt as though MY code was singled out. Another concern under this current management is the selective rules which are enforced per Mimi’s mood of the day. Many times when myself or other customers question her commentary from 1 day to the next she claims not to have said this or that often forgetting or following up with various different answers. To this point, I will share a specific situation regarding my 2nd unit which I share with my boyfriend Chris. Being one of the largest units on property, this is where we store our work tools & at times require more time to prep for jobs/projects. According to the lease only under structured access will a customer be limited to 2 - 30 minute visits. And while Chris did have structured access in the past, Mike Wise has confirmed that was lifted however Mimi continues to hold us to it to the point of aggressively stating the second we arrive and closely monitors the clock threatening to trespass us if we don’t leave. We have never seen or heard her treat any other customer with such disdain. Mike Wise & Mimi have both made it extremely clear that the units are not a “hang out”, they aren’t to be lived in, and advised Chris and I both that 24 hour access had been removed for everyone for the time being - and that it’s in everyone’s lease agreement that customers are only allowed 2 thirty minute visits per day; these “rules” however are selective and discriminatory. Both Mimi & Mike are fully aware of a male African American man living in unit 629 yet nothing has been done. In fact not only is this person being allowed to disregard the lease rules by living there, he was hired to work for Mimi in the office. Every time we’d be there getting tools or organizing for upcoming jobs, this person would non-stop bombard Chris asking for his help or needing to borrow something including asking for money to do his laundry. This person can come & go at all hours, stay in his unit for any amount of time, sleep there - yet we are monitored like children and told to leave if we were there for 30 min. This supposed “company rule” was abused by management who selectively decided who they’d hold to the agreement and who they’ll let slide. The management of this facility is honestly just a joke! The final and most concerning issue is regarding the safety of every female customer and what ultimately led to my decision to take my business elsewhere. Four single female customers all verbally shared with me to be vigilant when alone because a gentleman named Dennis cornered them in their unit forcing himself upon them in a sexual manner & making vulgar comments. This gentleman as it turns out is Mimi’s husband. These incidents have been brought to her attention however to which she responded “it’s ok”. Coincidentally all 4 of these woman have been evicted. This man is a sexual predator who lives on site & has full access to come in & out at all hours. This needs to be addressed and stopped immediately before he does this to someone else. She was extremely professional, kind, compassionate, and went above and beyond to make sure all was set in place when I arrive there with the moving company. Highly recommend her facility for anyone in the area.

Cancel my contract with her last month but she locked the unit when letting me retrieving my stuff without paying her for this month. I'll never use you the facility again and I'll probably never use U-Haul again

David G | Overall ExperienceI had a few days left on my storage rental agreement when I tried to access my unit only to find that the u-haul circular lock that was purchased was rusted shut. I ended up breaking off my key in the lock and when I contacted the main office (the storage place shut down their onsite office) the owner informed me that they do not remove the locks themselves nor am I allowed to cut my own lock. I had to hire a locksmith to remove the lock. It was the last day of my rental agreement so I was trying to get everything out that day, but obviously that wasn't happening now. Once the lock was removed I was able to take out the majority of the stuff, but still had one truck bed left. I thought I'd be able to come by the next day and grab the rest of it and maybe pay a small fee for the extra day given the issue with the lock. Instead I was informed that I needed to pay the entire next months rent. I was upset, that we couldn't just work it out by paying $20 for 1 day, but in the end if I would've gotten out sooner then this wouldn't have happened. At that same time I asked the clerk at the desk the procedure to make sure that my contract would be terminated for certain after I paid the months rent. He indicated that I just needed to move out of the storage room and return the gate key afterwards. I made him put a note in my file indicating that I will not accept any further charges due to me moving my stuff out (have a printed copy as well). Now that I've paid a full months rent, I had to work on moving items from my main house. I waited a couple of weeks and then decided that I wasn't going to wait for the last minute this time, so went to my storage unit only to find that they placed a lock on my unit along with my own masters lock I put on there after the locksmith had removed the previous one. I had to go to the main office to find out that only the circular u-haul lock is allowed to be placed on the storage units. The owner nor the clerk who both knew that I had to get my lock cut off didn't bother to inform me at the time I needed to purchase another u-haul lock. I would've moved all that stuff out immediately. So the owner herself informed me that "it'll be a few" before she can get down there to unlock my storage unit. I had other plans for that day so informed her that she can take care of it any time that day and that the next day I'll go there to remove the last of my stuff. Got to my storage unit the next day ... sure enough the lock is still on. I had to go back once again to the main office and have the clerk call the owner to have her son finally remove the lock. Since everything has been so terrible at each step of the way I decided to look through my paperwork and online to try and find a proper contract termination. Sure enough, I found one on the website and proceeded to follow the instructions to remove everything, sweep the floors, and return gate card and then uploaded photo evidence and submit. This was one of the worst experience I could've ever imagined. They made the termination and move out process very time consuming and frustrating. The staff aren't educated in directing the customers to the correct processes. The owner is only worried about how much she can squeeze out of the customer if they don't follow everything to the letter … she will make you pay in full for any slip up. Also, I found a lot of animal droppings and bugs in my storage unit. Thank goodness I only stored tools and other items that they can't nest in or care to get into. I will never use another u-haul storage unit ever again!

I have incoming U container and representative told me "nothing I know, call tomorrow, maybe if you are lucky it will show up". Certainly did not inspire confidence in this U-Haul location. Representative also verbally mumbled that "why give you a lock" ... When I commented that it was advertised as part of online reservation for storage unit, representative said "I don't know why I have to honor this." Another representative in the office advised her to give me a lock which she then provided. Extremely poor work attitude and ethics. I have a storage unit, awaiting UContainer, so these are not anything to be resolved. Employee attitude and service to the customer needs fine tuning.

It is her responsibility to correctly train her staff and to maintain compliance under Corporates guidelines. Some of my answers to the questionnaire are opposite to my opinion, due to my dozen or so experiences with both the truck rental and U-Haul storage located on Seminole BLVD. The cherry on the Sunday is that her and her incompetent staff have charged hundreds of dollars to my Baby Sisters credit card. Candice is uneducated on how to reverse a charge. She told me that she rectified the issue, yet she failed and further charged my Sisters card unlawfully. My Sister is unemployed and it happens to be Christmas time. My Sister refuses to take my calls and texts because I told her Candice eleviated her burden. The same morning, Candice and I spoke on the phone at approximately 8:39AM and she agreed not to charge me for gas or mileage, as well as, three days no charge for the truck, no twenty dollar convenience fee. That she and myself alone would process the truck and fees due to the incompetent y of her staff. I call this morning, as prearranged, for her to spout, Your note means nothing because you left the key in the drop box. My note stated, I’m not returning the truck. I need… I’m only concerned with the charges on your Sisters account. You are under a promissory contract with attitude, I might add. I told her that I would get off of work early to address the situation at hand with her in person at 3:45PM. I will not be honoring that appointment. If my bank account gets a bounced check for this absurd fee….there will be court action. I wonder how many victims Candice has left in her wake??? Meanwhile, I demand arbitration.
