I will always recommend the Sidney BC U-HAUL center to others and will use again if needed. Great customer service is becoming harder to find these days, but Sonja always keeps it consistent. I reserved a rental locker (small), based on the offer of one free month, and I was told I would not have to pay until 4 weeks later. At the counter, I was then charged $89.99. When I asked why I was being charged $89, the gentleman told me “oh that isn’t offered anymore”. Additionally, I was also trying to add insurance to the locker rental, and kept hitting the “add insurance” button, and that didn’t work. When I questioned my difficulties, I was told once again “oh, they don’t offer that anymore.” If the so-called incentives that are mentioned on your website - “free storage for a month, and insurance recommendations” are “no longer valid” then please remove them. This is actually false advertising, and had I known ahead of time, that these perks were no longer offered, I would have gone somewhere else to find storage. Please note that I was happy with the service I received from Ian (@ Sidney, BC location), but very disappointed with the false advertising.

Sonja has trained her staff well; they are courteous, knowledgeable and genuinely want to help. The office is well-stocked and orderly. The enter-exit machines worked evert time. The unisex bathroom is decorated, clean, and shows that someone went above and beyond to make it welcoming. Trucks were always available and were washed immediately after drop-off. Never did I see litter around any of the storage units. Our unit was leak-free, insect-free and rodent-free and our belongings were in the sane condition coming out as they were going in. Visiting the unit alone, at no time did I feel unsafe. U-Haul Sidney is an established business with a good reputation and based on our experience I believe that reputation is deserved. The hall was well lit however so I just bought a battery operated motion light which worked well in the end. Their alarm system totally is in excellent working order and is very loud. I know first hand because I accidentally set it off by putting in an incorrect code. Man alive I was embarrassed but the attendant was very nice about it. I have used this storage facility 3 times in my lifetime and always will when I am in the area.
