You’re online said that the insurance was not mandatory. When I went to get the truck the gentleman that gave me the keys said that the insurance was mandatory which cost me an extra $25. I don’t agree with that change your policy.

I rented a motorcycle trailer for a few hours. I actually brought it back early. The next day I get a voicemail asking when am I going to return the equipment. I called and explained that I already returned it. I was then charged 3X as much on my credit card. Five days later and I’m still waiting for the charges to be corrected. This is unacceptable.

I have rented from this location twice. Both times, the people were very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The first time, the equipment was perfect. The second time, the van I rented smelled like a previous renter had been chain smoking in it. It gagged me, so I drove with the windows open. Also, there was a problem with the gas fill pipe, so when I went to replenish the gas at the end of the day, the fill pipe overflowed after I had only put in a couple of gallons of gas, despite the fact that the gas gauge only read about 1/6 of a tank. Some kind of blockage? I alerted the representative when I returned the van. Apart from this, the experience was great overall, and I will definitely rent from this location again.

If you're looking for a contact high, this is the place. I have used this location several times over the last few years, moving my mother into an assisted living center, and both of my kids out into their own homes. This location, by far, has the best inventory, but the absolute worst customer service.
I'm not looking for the Ritz Carlton level of service here, but with three people at the counter, and the manager standing by their side, being the only customer in the store, I would have expected a "Hello, can I help you?". Nothing. A minute later, one of them buckled and said he could take me "over here". I gave him my reservation number, and he said he couldn't use it, so I had to re-enter all of my information.
Frustrating.
I went through the paperwork with the rep and signed. He highlighted the mileage and gas level, handed me the key, and told me to go to row D. First of all, it's literally 10 degrees out, and the lettering on the ground is covered with snow, so I'm literally counting rows to figure out what could possibly be "D". I tried three trucks. Still, the key he gave me did not work in any of the ignitions. I walked back inside and asked for some help. He walked out with me, looked at the key, and tried it in the first vehicle. It didn't work, so he went back inside to get another key. My rental was in the back row, and the other truck needed to be moved. This ordeal took at least half an hour, and I had a four-hour window to get this back. Zero urgency.
On my way back, I stopped at the gas station down the road from the site and put in three gallons - plenty, considering the MPG (according to U-Haul) is 12 MPG, and I drove 30 miles - mostly highway.
I did the night drop and returned at 8:00 PM. The app wouldn't connect, so I went to the website and checked my vehicle in.
The next day, I received a $30 service fee, and $13.50 fuel fee, and the receipt states that I returned it with one-eighth of a tank. Fortunately (and I highly recommend this), take a picture of your odometer and gas gauge in front of the store for your evidence. I'm appealing the $43.50 from U-Haul, and awaiting their response. It feels like an easy money grab - If I didn't document my gas level, I would have no defense. I will try Penske or Budget next time.
Extremely frustrated with the entire process - I've wasted two hours contesting forty bucks, but hopefully, this will save somebody from being taken advantage of in the future.

Renting a cargo van from this U-Haul location was an excellent experience, end-to-end. My ONLY complaint is that maybe I don’t need twelve emails sent to me in less than 24 hours, related to my rental. I realize that’s how automated systems work, but I say, “program them to work differently.” Apart from this, great experience. I will rent again.

I rented a box truck and trailer for 24 hours. I went to leave in the morning and the truck had lights on the dashboard, on my way back to Uhaul the lights came on two more times. I could not get what I rented the equipment for and had to return. Not taking a chance driving 200 miles. The bill went from 268dollars to 155 dollars and I don't feel that was right. I contacted the CEO to see if he can help. I should of only had to pay for the 48 miles I put on the rental.

It took an hour to get the keys. The system was not uploading my picture and the woman ( who was very nice) kept trying. She called her manager who took his time and eventually put my information in manually. He said he can’t do this for other people which doesn’t make sense if a system isn’t working there should be a back up. With that aside there was just no urgency from the manager. The women who took my information was so sweet she even was the one who went and pulled the truck around. Then the trucks windshield wipers were not working and the tires were baled which made the drive dangerous in the snowy weather. When we let them know when we returned th truck the young did not care at all.
We will not be renting from this location anytime soon . ( except the woman was very nice )

I rented a 20ft box truck from U-Haul yesterday, and the entire experience was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The check in process was quick and incredibly smooth. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure I had everything I needed before hitting the road. The truck itself was spotless, powerful, and easy to drive. I was especially impressed by how well-maintained it was. Returning the truck was just as simple as picking it up. Adam and his coworker were extremely helpful and friendly. They saved the sale…the UHaul corporate scheduling manager I spoke to on the phone on 7/5 regarding my truck rental was horrible, told me “UHaul could go out of business tomorrow and nobody would have a truck” when I asked how far I might have to drive to pick up my rental. He had told me they can’t guarantee there will be a truck near me, and he was being quite rude and sarcastic, telling me “Alaska” when I asked what the furthest distance would be that I’d need to go to pick up my truck (I live in MA). Again, Adam and the crew at the Springfield MA location were GREAT!

Front desk was friendly and helpful in answering my questions and getting me set up with the rental. The only critique I have is the cleanliness of certain portions of the storage area. Specifically the storage unit doors and outdoor lights having grime and cobwebs over them. It makes it seem like the facility is not well kept. However this is one of the nicer locations I’ve done business with and do appreciate to e positive customer service provided.

The staff is very friendly, but there are too few staff to meet the needs, so the wait time was always way too long to be convenient. It is not appropriate to have a twenty plus minute wait time every visit and the electronic access to the building with the cards often malfunctioned, so we were denied access. This was very inconvenient! The place was super clean and the people were great but over burdened with understqffing and poor technology to top it off.

Your stuff will be secure from people. Location is convenient. Beware… with inside/outside storage. The place definitely has rats. The rats will poop in and all over everything. Make sure to wrap every single and have nothing opened for rats to jump in.

Working with Brent was always a pleasure, I would say he went above and beyond during the three years I was there. The staff was always pleasant to deal with and helpful. Would definitely use U-haul Boston road again if needed. A huge thank you, and would definitely recommend this store. I was there three years and my stuff came out in the same condition it was stored in. No smell, no damage.

No lighting INSIDE unit so I couldn't see well when I would search for things I had to bring stuff on on narrow walkway to search through my things and roofing inside unit was horrible no access to a bathroom near storage units only in office area which had limited hours.

I didn't have any trouble with the storage facility part of my contract. My issue is with the truck that I rented out on Saturday to move out my belongings. The truck was dragging to shift from 2-3 &3-4 gear and before I would put my foot on the brakes, the truck would jerk. Then the keys was stuck in the ignition. I believe I should be compensated money wise for the headache I went through with this truck. I don't know how it passed inspection. Since 1073 I have been a customer of u-haul loyaly. It's unfair.

AWFUL! Was issued a 210$ credit instead of the refund I was supposed to receive after renting a truck and “free month of storage with truck rental” was apparently bs. Had to pay for my storage unit and was told I was going to be issued a refund and instead a credit that I DONT want to use because I will NEVER be using uhaul again. Not to mention being locked out of my unit when it was paid ?!?! NOT HAPPY A CUSTOMER !!!!
