My experience at this location in Stamford ct is by far the best as always at Jefferson st UhAul fast and efficient as soon as I walk in I’m greeted as if I’m family Love this location.

The seatbelt on the driver side did not work. It unblocked multiple times while driving the truck. It felt extremely unprofessional and poorly maintained. Renting a truck with a clear safety issue to customers is reckless.

NANA AMake sure to check the gas gauge before driving off. I took pictures and yet they still charged me for the gas. Drove it 12 miles, they charged me a fuel service fee and 4 gallons for 12 miles. Other Uhaul location I had no issue with. I did submit that the gas gauge was lower than what they said on the paper, maybe that was intentional so they can charge me $50 extra.

OCTAVIO ZI was charged $70 for cleaning. I cleaned the truck before I dropped it off. I left two pallets in the truck which I supposed to return to Homedepot. I was supposed to transfer the pallets to my car but I forgot. I went back right away to get them back , but I was told I can get pallets back not the $70. Basically they charged me $70 for nothing. The customer service was horrible at the counter. I would like get my money back.

Alexander AWhen I returned the equipment, I returned it clean and asked the staff to check it. The staff said no need and later they sent me a bill for 25 dollars for cleaning it. I could not believe it. If somebody checks when we return the equipment and explains, we will be able to understand the reason for any additional billing.

I always felt that my goods were secure and well maintained during the one year that all my belongings were stored there. The facility is clean, safe, and everyone there is friendly and helpful and ready to take care of all your needs at a moment's notice. I would highly recommend this facility if you are going to store anything at all for any amount of time, you definitely get your money's worth here.

WAYNE KMy reservation was moved a few hours before I was scheduled to pick up the vehicle, and I was told that some mileage would be deducted to accommodate the inconvenience, which it was not.As a frequent UHaul customer and small business owner, I also feel that I am entitled to some type of accommodation for the 2+ hours that it took to complete this reservation, again, with only an a few hours notice before my event.
PETER KI picked up the truck with 1/2 tank of gas and returned it with 1/2 tank of gas, yet I was billed $73 for fuel. Also, there was a tire warning light that I was told to just ignore.

Now that I’ve offered this feedback I would like to hear from U-Haul on what you will do to credit me.

Dumbwaiter elevator doors cumbersome. Often times other individuals did not know to close the exterior doors to make elevator available to others. We moved to another facility that was very well lit, plenty of parking, modern elevators and non-profit pricing so we were able to get more space at a lower price.

Ian O | First ImpressionsThe Facilities manager who called me on Saturday afternoon was rude, impolite, unprofessional and a straight out little pr..k. (I am being kind here) The insolent little sh.t threatened me after his staff had let me know we could leave items next to the "Re-use Centre" as it was full of Uhaul boxes and equipment. The manager gave me a mouthful and told me the "Re-use" centre is closed and that the staff had no right to give me permission to leave any thing for Re-use. He instructed me that he was giving me until then end of the weekend to move the stuff shared for "Re-Use" and said he was noting the warning in the system as Uhaul do not dispose of belongings on behalf of clients. On arrival the next day there was one item left in the "Re-use" centre, I proceeded to clean out the storage unit and placed the left over item in to the locker. I then informed the Staff at the centre that Junk Luggers would be arriving in the morning to haul away the remaining items and asked what arrangement I could make to leave the Storage locker open for them. I was told that the items would be safe as the premises is under 24 hour surveillance and that they would put a red tag on the unit to seal it, that I did not have to lock the unit. The next day when Junk Luggers arrived they confirmed that the unit was locked with a red uhaul tag, but the contents of the locker did not match the inventory list I had shared with them. In short the staff appear to be nothing more than common criminals who helped themselves to the contents of the storage locker. If the staff did not commit the cold blood theft of the contents of the locker, you have a serious security problem on the premises. Lastly a staff member called me the next day wanting to charge me for taking my own lock and not returning it to them when I gave notice on the locker.

When I got to this facility, I had reserved a storage unit. The staff informed me that the elevators were broken in an extremely kind and empathetic manner and that I would unfortunately have to carry my stuff up the back stairwell 3 flights to the 3rd floor where my storage unit was. They compensated me for this graciously and more than fairly and were extremely empathetic, sensitive, and kind about it throughout the entire process. Even as I was waiting on them to work through my situation with me, they were continuing this behavior with each and every customer that I saw walk in that day. This staff deserves recognition! This is the type of customer service that makes a company and provides a good name for a company, especially during times like these. U-Haul has provided me with great optimism and reason to be a long time customer and I can assure this company that the benefit of a long time customer like me with referrals because of service like this will far outweighs the compensation that was provided due to inadequate facilities to provide easy access to the storage unit when unloading a truck. Thank you U-Haul! I want to personally say thank you and happy new year to each of the staff working that day, you all deserve great credit and recognition for what you did for me and please know that this does not go unnoticed and means a lot.
