I got the metallic ubox's and very happy with them. I was concerned about the wooden ones. I like the modular concept where I can adjust how many boxes I need. Also I like that U-Haul don't charge for extra one I don't use. The only complaint I have is the online system is not accurate and I have to call a few times to get current status and info. I understand this more complicated than a typical package delivery like UPS but It would be great to be able to see more up-to-date status. But the billing info updates are decent.Kai Y.

The process to rent a truck was quick and simple. Customer reps were kind and professional. But, I didn't appreciate them charging me for the hand truck that had been in the rental truck and the rep. didn't ask me if I needed to use one. I didn't need it as we have a heavy duty one we purchased a long time ago from Costco. I do appreciate Vincent who didn't try to push the cost of the hand truck on me and issued automatically a credit for it. He was very kind and processed it immediately. Thank you Vincent! Also, the driver seat smelled nasty like sweat and should have been cleaned before it was rented out. It was a terrible odor to deal with. The representative was helpful but inaccurately informed me I went over the alotted mileage for my truck rental by 20 miles and therefore owed $20 at $1 per mile. I had not gone over the miles as my trip was only 370-ish miles and was well within the 430-ish miles included per the contract. It wasn't until I took a look at the rep's device and saw the afterhours service was selected prompting the $20 charge. When I questioned why this option was selected when I was returning the equipment during business hours, the rep said he had mistakenly chosen it and confused it for over-mileage. This explanation made little to no sense given his previous statement. I am unsure if this is incompetence or a poor attempt at upcharging, either way this was a less than favorable experience.Mike S.
I was disappointed that I had an older cargo van, when I called in asking about my cargo van I was told that a 2021 Ford Van will be waiting for me at the time of pick up.Imraan M.
They allowed me to rent VAN I went and loaded my clothes and belongings and ants were everywhere under plastic in back and they were in everything I own it took days to get them out my thing I kept van four days past every day this company called me early to renew harassed me and told me because i didn't have a previous U-Haul experience they didn't know if I would bring van back and instead of being able to call and extend every day as U-Haul allows you too they kept demanding a return date and I pay in advance and said I could not extend and call and pay as I go even though that is what U-Haul allows.They are prejudice ..rude.. harassers..stay away.Ann W.

The manager on site was very rude to the employee because a customer realized the truck they rented was too big and the employee was attempting to resolve the issue and the manager came inside upset and told the young employee to move and not touch anything and he would do it, he was very loud and short tempered making me uncomfortable how he was being in front of the other customers and how upset he was at them also the customers, so I text my husband to come in. He was kind to my husband and i realized that he was short staffed but he wasn't rude to my husband who is also Caucasian as the manager and then i felt that this maybe a racist issue per the manager.Martha E.

I was referred by a Billie in Fremont location. He was the worst moving company ever in life! Ripped a single women off and broke tv screen damaged furniture. But excepted a free tv If I would've of caught this from the beginning NEVER I life will I refer I spread the word to friends and family from state had county's do not go to Fremont Uhaul. Most of the front desk employees were all Ride , they don't even smile at you , not friendly , I met one person that works there on the parking lot , he was the only one nice , good attitude . But my encounter with these front desk people was BAD , so Im sure they all work so hard but because they are tired or maybe having a bad day , contribute to their rudeness and bad Attitude. When charge at first time, I was called I need to pay $100. I was told I cannot drop off the car at the target location, I need to drive it back, when I drive it back, I was finally charged $200 more, I will never use U haul, I take my effort , drive and move, but you know, I can pay some people to do this and pay less !!!Pengfei H.

The storage access hours does not reflect the correct timing. I saw the access hours and had a truck loaded with my stuff ready to unload and the building gate is locked. The office hours are done so couldn’t contact them and the customer service wasn’t helpful on call. Building wasn't always unlocked near the beginning of access hours. Automatic lights go off too quickly i.e. when doing work in the storage unit. This requires waving out in the hall to turn it back on but it's still a bit of a challenge because it can get down to near total darkness. Had the same staff person checking in for a unit and checking out. He was slow moving and glum. Other staff didn't seem any better, as I was observing while waiting. The storeroom area smelled strongly of pesticides and ?marijuana.
