Sending out a vehicle with the information panel indicating a low tire is dangerous behavior by your staff who WOULD NOT check the air pressure. They told me it's a faulty sensor. I asked about the oil life @14%, they said it was ok. Unfortunately we had a move out time frame which forced me to use this truck. we loaded the truck and we took the truck and after my wife saw the senor waring, we again went back to uhaul to address this. Again they would not check the tire or do anything to help fix this issue. Stuck with a defective truck we headed to Springfield Il from Chicago. Let me simply say it was the ride from hell, my wife was so freaked out that tire tire was going to fail she panicked at every little thing all the way. NOT FUN!Rodney Y.

i had a promblem when i went in there they tell you that you could check out on your phone when i returned the truck but they did not tell me that i had to check out on my phone when i am there returning the truck in front of the haul, i drove the truck and putthe keys in the lock box were you drop the keys ,my sister was waiting for me in the car so i decided to sign out when i walk in my home ,i did not know i was going to charge me because of my gps location, so they charge me extra,no one in that place tells the customer that once you return it check out from your phone when u drop it off right there, i only had two people that were nice to me to explain to me because your employee there have poor customer service.i want to thank that one guy who helped me saturday and the customer Services on the phone wenesday her name was Cristina she was very nice and perfect customer service and she helped and fix the situation and it explain to me about the phone GPS,Yanire S.
This was an absolutely awful experience. I set up a pick up at one location, only to find out the truck was not there. I then sat on hold for well over an hour, only to end up setting up a new pickup location myself. When I got to the new location, not only were my charges significantly higher, but I had to take on new transportation costs because the drop off location was so far from where I was moving to. This was an infuriating day, and I would be very surprised if I ever use your services again.PHILIP W.

If a policy is in place then it shouldn't be presented as an option. Everywhere through out the reservation process indicated a truck or van rental was $20 then when I went in to pick it up, I was told it was an extra $25, because the insurance was mandatory. First I was told it was because vehicles were being stolen, then I was told it is because vehicles are being damaged and they aren't using their own insurance properly. I offered to leave my own insurance information with them so that if anything did happen, they could be compensated for the damage, but the associate at the location refused. After asking to view this â€˜new policy' in writing from 3 very confused associates, was told it was updated on the website, and the website shows the insurance is optional. Considering I just rented from a different location a week ago and did not have any issues. I'm left to believe that this location is making up their own requirements just to sell more insurance.Ashley T.

1) In attempting dropoff approx 12pm CST on 9/1, was told by the attendant that the trailer return can't be accepted as there was no space to store it. After replying that my reservation that originated in Pittsburgh specified a return to this location, suddenly it wasn't a problem. Was told to pull around to the trailer storage area where there was plenty of room to drop it. 2) After dropping the trailer and inspecting, I asked the attendant if things were all set, anything else needed, and was told all was good, so I left. Forward to Monday 9/5, I got a voicemail from the location that my trailer return was late! Evidently it hadn't been "checked in". I tried calling back, waited on hold for nearly 15 mins, but needed to drop. A few mins later, I get a email receipt, which I assume means they found it.John W.

The manager at this location openly complained that I was dropping off my vehicle. He tried to get me to take it elsewhere, because he didn't want to park it (for which I tried to explain I would be charged extra, but he stormed off and never came back). When we tried to talk to the woman behind the counter, she said â€œno, I ain't the manager don't talk to me.â€ So I left the truck where I was supposed to. I learned later that the manager charged me a $100 cleaning fee, but there was nothing in the truck other than the pads I rented from uhaul. I like uhaul as a service but I will not be returning to the uptown location again.Ryan M.
U-Haul Top Management, please investigate this store. This was the worst experience I got with U-Haul that I even had to call 311 and U-haul Emergency Road service. I returned a trailer from another store per contract and initially they would not honor it. I waited for around 2 hours before they accepted the trailer. I even was asked to pay $250 if I will just leave the trailer at the store and even told that other customers who just left their U haul truck where charged $500. I hope that all U haul store owners MUST honor the contract and serve their customers even if the rental equipment is from another store. I paid 3 times the price so that I can drop off the trailer at the place where it is convenient and practical but the service I received was not at all acceptable.FrancisCaesarC N.

The people who work here are an absolute nightmare and I can’t believe no one has punched anyone here in the face for how they behave. Have grace for your customers when your facility doesn't have the materials they reserved for their moving experience. So either update the website/app or call to inform us, prior to our arrival, that you are out of said equipment. Day of arrival to receive this information is unacceptable. Also your app and staff were not on the same page. Upon arrival I ran into a young lady who was given my reserved truck as I was trying to checkin on the app. Then I had to go into your facility to get it sorted out. Which is what I was trying to avoid knowing how long those lines can take. Then after spending 30-40 mins waiting around to be helped I was offered no compensation for a mistake on your staffs part. I was expected to pay the same price and my time with the U-Haul was not set back to be the original 6 hours that I reserved it for. I was now expected to complete my reservation with the remaining time since my time started at 10am. That left me about 5 hours to get everything I needed done. Very unfair and very disappointed in this location. Having that hour set back completely threw off my entire moving day. It was a very frustrating day that stemmed from your facility.Lance S.

I waited on hold on the customer service line for more than 15 minutes attempting to schedule drop off. Called the N Broadway location direct, they answered the phone and said bring it right over. Very prompt and responsive crew. Out in less than 10 minutes.Richard L.
I reserved a 15' truck online and when I arrived it was not there, and was told I'd have to downsize. This cost me extra money in gas and mileage that a 15' truck would not have. Also, it took over 20 minutes for someone to finally assist me and when they did, they changed the duration of my original booking, making it shorter so, I had to call again to sort out that issue, and was on hold for over 20 minutes before that was taken care of. There was a mechanical problem with check engine light showcasing on 08-29-2022, with a duration for three hours etc. N as such, such mechanical problems caused a delay in truck return on time accordingly. I called to report such problem, N the manager was short on my third attempt during a connection telephonicly. Moreover, my location next to O'Hair Airport... In Bensenville, was very spotty which in further, made connections telephonicly uneasy. More broadly, when I arrived Olisha, the onsite manager attitudes was distasteful, N extremely disservicingly towards me when I tried to get her attention on multiple occasions. Now, U-Haul is wracking up excessive predator type charges on my credit card given their Manager's irrespective behaviors, N unfair customer services in conducts. Will dispute with my credit card entity, as well as reporting this matter to the transportation authority, N including to my States Attorney General's Office. Extremely sickening, N highly unethical deeds in major monkey businesses. I took photos reflecting dashboards in vehicle, plus filled up in more gas in return of vehicle etc. Also, your return app surrounding drop off was not working which also made matters unfairly troubling. Customer service is slow and no sense of urgency. Employees answering personal phone calls while customer stands in front of them waiting for help. One customer was standing at the help desk while the employee walked away from them for 20 mins. And only after 15 mins another employee stepped in to help that customer. A waste of peoples time and money if they get there at 8:45am for a 9am rental time, and then aren't able to leave with the vehicle until 10am.Sean Y.

The trailer I rented was clearly not properly inspected. About 25 miles into my trip the axle broke. This is not where my rental was supposed to start but a few minutes before picking my trailer up I was told to go here because what I had reserved in the location I reserved it was not available. The check-in process did not go as planned on mobile. Upon going to the check-in link, the first thing was to sign-on. I didn't have or wasn't aware I had an account. It then asked me for my 2-factor ID code sent to my email. To access this I had to back out of the U-Haul screen which then invalidated the code! Poor design. The return process was horrible! I waited a long time. Finally went inside and they told me to go back and wait in the truck. Finally the guy comes over. He sees scrapes on the side of the vehicle and asks if I have the pictures I review during checkin. I told him they have them in the system. Finally he is able to pull them up. Next he tells me I need to take the equipment (2-wheeler & furniture dolly and pads out of the back and to the garage for them. Really!!?? That's a bit crazy. Horrible customer service.Kent L.

I rented a UHaul on August 14, drove a total of 3 miles, no air condition use, no idling, and put in a gallon and a half of gas at the station just around the corner from the U Haul to get to the original meter level. I was charged over $20 for four gallons of gas. There is no possible way I used that much gas - check the mileage on the receipt. please. I would like a refund for the gas charge, please. I sent two emails to the contact address provided with the e-receipt and never received a response.Martin T.

After booking a reservation with another storage provider, I get a call saying the reservation with the UHaul unit was actually confirmed, and I could have moved in the prior day. Shows that there’s terrible communication between the staff and poor understanding of the booking/reservation system in that respect. Furthermore, the Uhaul staff confused my move in date of 7/29 to 7/27, which is not what I wanted. This particular location needs to be reviewed. The automatic doors don’t work - they need electrician to fix. The staff are not welcoming at all. They are actually the opposite of welcoming. The space was big enough for these items however the door to access that storage room was too small to fit anything through?? The overall move-in experience has been great. Reserving online was a breeze and the storage unit was ready to go when I arrived at the facility. My storage unit has a few spider webs and a rusty hole in the ceiling but doesn't look like anything is leaking through it so it doesn't bother me that much. Horrible Rat infestation!! The rats left their poop & food all over unit #225. Not only was this disgusting but the rats ruined an Ethan Allen chair & got into my boxes leaving poop everywhere!!
