First off, the truck was actually a minute late for me to check in and I didn't get $50 back for the reservation. Next there was cigarette ashes in the cup holder. The uhaul used a lot of gas compared to the last time I used the same size truck. The rear door barely closed. Overall bad customer service at this location.Alex M.

My truck had no air and it was 95 degrees that day. When we brought it back in the guy who was checking the truck in stated that they knew it was out. So I asked them why do they continue to rent it knowing that then? He said because it still blows at your feet and the windshield. Trust me when I say blowing at your feet and windshield on a 90 degree day does nothing to cool you off.Angela C.

Thie Springfield ocation was excellent, truck was awsome,. The initial reservation in Bellefontaine was also awesome .. Now to your reservation system. HORRIBLE. I had reservations over 2 weeks prior and if I had not called the 1800 number 2 days prior I would not have known that my truck was not available. They did nothing to try to locate one.. The staff in Bellefontaine was able to secure my rental at the location in Springfield. This added an 1-1/2 hours and 60 miles to my moveTodd R.

Looks can be deceiving,...Upon getting all of our stuff out of the storage we got all of our bins to the new property and realize that rats had eaten through our clothing there was so many rat droppings that we had to throw stuff away it was really horrible, I've never had cockroaches in my life and one of our bins had a lot of cockroaches inside, not only that, we had a air conditioner just disappear! I would like to bring attention to to my experience which was rather bizarre. I needed to rent a pickup truck for my move so I looked online at the available inventory and noticed the equipment I was seeking was available. I arrived at the store within 30 minutes to rent it there versus online. When I arrived, I waited in line and when Liza came into the store and asked to help me, I mentioned I was there to rent a pickup for my move at which point she immediately informed me nothing was available, without even verifying the inventory. About 15 minutes later and after I left the store, I decided to look online again and I was frustrated when I noticed that what I was looking for was available so I went ahead and reserved it, and drove back into the store. The assistant manager was great and very helpful and Liza looked surprised to see at and mentioned she cancelled the reservations of those who didn't show up. Suffice all this to say- I feel like I was lied to and the equipment was available the first time I went into the store.ZACHARY R.

After getting the truck home we realized there was no dolly available so had to go back to location to get one. We used 7 miles total and put a full 2 gallon gas can in the tank but was charged a fuel fee. I haven't been able to get anyone at this location to answer the phone since the morning after drop off. The staff were unprofessional in speaking with customers and each other, along with busy on their phone so wouldn't help upon going back for the dolly. No one helped me outside to locate the truck and do walk around with me. I just felt it was a bad experience and won't recommend anyone to that location again. I don't understand the extra charges. There is no way we used 5 gallons of gas on 7 miles. The gas tank upon drop off was exactly where it was when we picked up. Not satisfied at all and we've used U-Haul for years. I rented a 15' truck snd moved a few cities over. Every possible cost was explained to me up front by the genral manager. I ended up paying less than I was quoted due to traveling less miles and returning unused items. The new general manager was awesome. She made the experience very easy. I also received excellent customer service from all of the employees I encountered. I highly recommend this Uhaul store.Danielle W.

Improvement: Customers taking photos of damages before leaving Uhaul premises. The trucks are old with a lot of damage such as scrapes, dents, and scratches. It shouldn't be our responsibility to take photos. What if it was windy, raining or snowing? What if you don't have the phone capabilities or difficulties walking around a large truck? There was a fairly narrow opening between trucks in the lot. How about writing or typing a note on a form if needed? What if there was a problem (which there was) with the Uhaul picture app? Several glitches were encountered when using this app. Maybe better instructions with photo limit or with return screen, pictures will be lost, or freeze up. Uhaul, because you are so busy, how about hiring an inspection person? For me, it was a very frustrating and unnecessary experience.James O.

Manager was very rude and kept calling my stuff in my storage unit crap which I don't appreciate,my stuff is very valuable to mean and has meaning to alot of it and for her to call my things crap was just rude. The truck maintenance indicator showed that it had 0% oil life left, so I think, while the truck did well, it would be good to have the engine maintenance up to date. Otherwise, the truck was clean, road well, the tire pressures were good (I always check) and I had no problems with it.Vince B.

The storage unit was very dirty and the doors aren't very sturdy. When we were moving out of the unit on Sunday, August 16, 2020, there was a woman and her 2 boys making a huge scene the whole time we were there. The boys were literally fist fighting in the hallway and parking lot while their mother screamed and cursed at them constantly. It was very disturbing and uncomfortable. When my husband told the attendant about it he said "Yeah, they do that all the time. I probably should've called the police or something." There are cameras all over the place so we knew the people in the office could see what was going on and they couldn't have missed the screaming.
