I was charged extra for 2 gallons of fuel. When I left the property, the gauge registered just over the half tank level. When I returned the truck, I actually had a little bit more in the tank than what I left with...and I am charged over $10 for two gallons of gas. When I finished with the truck, I made sure it was clean with nothing left behind...and guess what? I am charged $25 for a cleaning fee. So, my U haul experience cost me $35 MORE than what I was expecting. Not happy...and not a great experience.Dwight A.
Service from Simply best movers was very poor. They came 3 hours late, did not come prepared to move my furniture, no dolly, no hand truck, were not careful in protecting my furniture, they dropped 2 pieces of expensive furniture, broke the legs on my chest drawer and night table, dropped my coffee table from the moving truck. It was difficult to find the truck in the sea of trucks in the lot. When I attempted to complete the pick up on the app, it wouldn't complete until I sent a message in the chat box. I couldn't get help from the desk because the line was out the door. When I finally got approved in the app and picked up my keys, I found the truck's fuel gauge on â€œEmptyâ€. I made it to a gas station but was unsure of how much gas I would need. I put approximately 13 gallons in it which turned out to be too much. Possibly talk to someone from the intake personal, one guy rudely told me to not park in a parking spot when I was told by the app to park the vehicle in a spot and do the post use inspection. I understand that the vehicle would need to be sanitized, but the attitude like I stole his lunch made the experience not that great. Maybe the app could mention to drop off in the intake lane so they can sanitize. Or maybe the guy didn't want to move the vehicle because he was having a shitty day. That's fine we all have em, but at least can you please use some tactful way to approach then to just rudely bark at some one ..Felipe R.
This entire process was an absolute nightmare. Due to a shortage in drivers, our boxes came a day early, not a problem, but then U-Haul changed our pick up day to a day earlier without letting us know, so we had to rush to get out boxes packed. Then, our boxes arrive to our location but can't be delivered to our new house for over a week... Not ideal, but ok we can manage. We pay our bill, schedule drop off, and don't hear anything, we call, and we are assured that they will be dropped off the next day, the day we scheduled. Delivery day comes and goes and we don't receive our boxes. We call (I should mention each phone we have made has taken over an hour to get in touch with someone!) Uhaul staff tells us that even though we have paid and scheduled delivery, there was a mix up in their system and we have to reschedule delivery. We have to wait another week... Now we are going on 3 weeks of not being able to get our stuff, we are getting frustrated. We were told we wouldn't be charged the storage fee because this is uhauls fault... Finally we get our stuff delivered, although boxes were not placed where we specified...( Fine, it can work, we just need our stuff at this point) and we schedule pick up 4 days later... Not only did Uhaul not pick up the boxes on time (a day late, with no heads up that this would be happening) they charged us for storage after telling us they wouldn't, so another phone call had to be made. We spent hours on the phone, uhaul did not hold up their end of the contract, and all we receive is 300 dollars back, and they 'couldn't do anything else' for the absolute inconvenience and hassle this was for me and my family?!?! I will never use Uhaul again, and I sure won't be suggesting anyone else use them.COLLEEN M.

There does not seem to be any obvious ways that the U-Haul experience could be improved at this location (9701 Capital Blvd., Wake Forest, NC 27587), as the current experience is nothing short of fantastic. I show up unannounced on a Friday afternoon-they kindly find a trailer to rent. My task takes longer than planned, and with one easy phone call the rental period is extended a day. Upon return on a Sunday evening (obviously not a unique idea judging by the sheer number of trucks, vans, and trailers in the return lanes) the U-Haul Representative is neck deep in the processing of returned equipment, yet takes the time to address the arrival of this trailer and disconnect it for me, all while being personable and polite the whole time. These folks are why we make it a point to rent equipment from this location. They have always been helpful and polite, and are fun to talk to. They also know their job and can get it done without delay, smiling the whole time. This level of customer service and efficiency must be noted and applauded. In these days of retail mediocraty U-Haul stands out as a beacon of getting-it-done. Thank you for asking.DAVID W.

No issues with the facility but please do yourself a favor and do not use the workers they recommend. I choose ATJ home innovation LLC -2 hired movers for 2 hrs at $81 hr. Paid upfront $162.00. At the time of move, one guy showed up and made some excuse for the other guy not showing up. Said he could do the work. Loaded up the truck with my help in 30 minutes. Then said he was done?! Said to unload the truck was another charge. Said if I paid him extra he would stay. Then said to wait there while he goes pick up his friend to help. Never came back and didn't not respond to calls or texts. Needlessly to say, I ended up doing the move by myself and luckily was able to find a friend to help. Terrible experience and will tell people to stay away from that service.Henry B.

My phone app identified the vehicle that was reserved for me but when I went to get it, another customer was already sitting in it. I had to go in the store and wait while another vehicle was repaired for us. The service person was friendly and did her best but I didn't enjoy having to go through the process again.Karen L.
The initial experience was bad. I did a rental on Friday for a Raleigh pick up and had to go to Louisburg znC for a pick up, got there and there was no truck. No one told me about the 50.00 guarantee. We were told to come back the next day. I called the uhaul phone# in Raleigh at 7:30 am to make sure the truck was in Louisburg which was 44 .ins away from us. I was told , I am glad you called because that truck didn't come in and now we have you picking up in Henderson NC 1hour and 10mins away. I asked the lady to make sure the truck was there and she said oh yes ita there waiting on you. I asked if there were any other sites in Raleigh, Garner, Clayton that I could pick up from and was told no and I even asked for a smaller truck like a 15ft because we wanted a 20ft. I was told no. Went to Henderson and my truck was given to another customer. So now I am mad as hell because for two days we were chasing a truck that my rental agreement should have secured. I call uhaul again and this time I was told about the 50 guarantee. They found me a truck at a facility in Wake Forest a place I had to pass to get to Henderson. Mad because I could have gone there first and not out of my way 2 days in a row. I hope they hold up on their end on the 50.Jerry H.

The person who received the truck did not bother to do the process correctly not even sending the email confirming the return of the truck causing me anxiety when I received a message the next day telling me that I needed to return the truck because it was overdue. Calvin was the gentleman that helped me. I was not sure of the exact size that I needed so he asked what was I going to put it in and he recommended a 5 by 10 for me. Then he walked me to the locker and showed me how to swipe in the outdoor verification checker. When we got to the locker, it already had a lock on it so we had to go back inside and get another locker. On the way back inside he was a complete gentleman and he open the door for me and even said “after you”. That was really sweet! Then he assigned me a different locker and we went back to try it again. This time the outside card was not swiping correctly. I told him that I have to come back late that evening and it is going to sound the alarm on me and notify the police. He laughed and said that it would not but if it did it would only alert the GM. After I received an empty locker and we confirmed that I was good I left the store. I came back that evening and my card did not work and the alarm went off anyway. I just laughed and I thought about Calvin saying that it would not go out to alert the police lol. I called back the next day and asked to speak with him. I told him that I was out of town working that day but I would return the next morning. He said that he would leave a note for his manager as to what happened so they could fix it since he would not be in until 1 pm. I went back the next day and everything was just as he said it would be. Although the alarm went off on me, Calvin was really nice and he took care of me. Even when there was an issue, he fixed it and still took care of everything. I really appreciate how nice he was.
