We rented a car hauler Friday night at 4:00 pm and we were to return it the next day. When the employee hooked it up to our truck he had us turn on all the lights to check them. He said all the lights worked fine. We were to leave for Missouri to pick up a car at 4 am. Around 7pm I thought I would go out and check the lights to make sure they were working. I had running lights but no brake lights or turn signals. I don't know what happened but we could not drive all the way to Missouri without all the lights working. We ended up leaving the trailer at home and just driving the car back to Iowa. When we got home we dropped the trailer off at UHAUL and paid the $69 rental fee even though we never used the trailer. We don't know what happened to the lights. They just stopped working.

At pick up, the trailer door was jammed in the open position and I had to call roadside assistance to get it closed after the trailer was loaded

Both people I worked with were very cordial and easy to work with. I have worked with some in the past at that very location that were not service oriented so this was a great change. And they were very busy when I returned the pickup in the afternoon.

The store was clean and organized. The staff was friendly and helpful. I did notice when they were helping me there were 2 other employees working on something together but neither 1 stopped to help another customer that entered the store. I believe the gentleman just left after waiting several minutes without being acknowledged

The location of the store was where i needed it to be. My issue with this rental was the way the online order was managed. NOT WELL! If you are going to have an online system, then it should work all the way through. Reserving was fine, online checkin was completed but when it came to this working for pickup, the system was not accesible AGAIN and we had to start completely over. We were not able to use any of the online information. The staff would not even allow us to use my credit card over the phone. Don't get me started about the return drop off online either. You need more technology support if you are going to run online. This is not the only store i have dealt with regarding this issue!

When I made my reservation online, I specifically did not add insurance coverage. When I picked up the vehicle, the employee at the register said nothing about an added insurance charge -- I never agreed to the charge. When I went to return the vehicle, a $10 insurance charge was added to my total. I was told it can't be removed since the rental is already completed.

There is a sense of disorganization surrounding the entire location. I believe part of it can be attributed to the road construction. I realize that there has been a massive amount of change made over the years and belief part of the sense of inefficiency is caused by having to put all of the additional "stuff" in a location that is limited in both size and access.

The truck's transmission seemed off. The help both yesterday and today were very nice and helpful. I don't like all thé online stuff. And it is ambiguous to define what you say dings are on the truck. You had an x on things that I didn't expect so it was hard to do a walk around looking for things to report before I got in to the truck. I prefer having it more spelled out.

The agents need to be more friendly and polite. UHaul is gaining my service and money. Instead they just treat their customers like crap. Waited on the phone for about 25 min couldn't even understand the associate. If I was running a company like UHaul I would definitely look into the employees that work there. Unprofessional, rude and I don't give a F*** attitude. That's how a lot of customers feel like. Will definitely not go back , there is other Moving companies out there.

Make sure u inform ur customers to take pictures of the equipment n gas n mileage before they leave n after they return the uhaul n also clearly state that when you return it after hours to make sure they check it in otherwise they will get charged if you guys have to do it the next day as well as to inform ppl about the green tabs on the equipment n let them know even if they don't use it n there kids play with the equipment with out there knowledge YOU STILL GET FREAKING CHARGED FOR THAT TO

I will most likey get a truck on a weekday instead of a weekend. I dont care to get the key and do all of that on line and it still has gliches. I dont like taking pictures and all of that. I turned my key in to the staff and he said he would make sure it was turned in correctly. It still wasnt working right.

I have rented this trailer three times recently, and two of those times I was not given the veterans discount. I was told that this could be corrected but it has not been corrected.

Check-in seemed to take too long. The insurance option was not offered to me, but I asked about it and opted to pay for it. In all fairness, I simply might have asked before insurance is offered during the normal check-in process. Overall, I was very happy with the professional way I was treated and the truck was clean and easy to drive.

They said we drove 126 miles and we only drove 82. We double checked our miles. The first person at the counter was really rude and brought us out a truck that looked like it had been wrecked. The guy that returned our truck said that truck was abandoned and shouldn't have went out again. The engine lights were on and the low oil light came on as we were driving it. I checked the oil level and there wasn't any oil in the engine that the dip stick could reach. The guy that checked us in said he was going to put our contract on hold until he talked to his boss because of all the issues and they still charged us too many miles. I shouldn't have gone to that location. My coworker had a bad experience and had to wait 3 hours in line to get a truck. Then the truck he reserved had been given out by the time he got to the front of the line. That Waterloo location is terrible and I will never recommend anyone going there. I work at a military facility and we move a lot. Won't happen there anymore.

1. I rented a trail with a drop down ramp. The pins in the ramp were not in place. When I got on the highway and up to speed the ramp came down! Made a lot or noise and I was able to pull over safely and pin it up. 2. It takes too long to get through the store. I can get a home mortgage faster than uhaul can get me checked out and hooked up! I rent a trailer several times a year there. Will you ever trust me?

The interior seats have excessive dog hair on them thus we had to spend some time with a sticky roller to remove the hair. The dashboard had significant dust/dirt build-up thus it added to my wife's dust allergies. The steering wheel had a sticky build-up thus it is questionable if any procedures have been implemented to reduce exposure to the Covid-19 virus on surfaces inside of the cargo van.

Employees did a good job, my only complaint is that there seems to be a lot of "hoops" to completing a rental these days which takes longer than necessary like confirming a 2nd phone number and taking a photo of my driver's license even though I only rented a trailer, not a vehicle? I really wasn't impressed that my driver's license was photographed and I'll probably look harder for alternative services next move.

The staff here was excellent, very professional and courteous. a dolly and blanket were in the back of the truck tied down for customer use. You have these same things in the show room, it took away from the amount of truck space that could have been used and it was in the way. Very inconvenient. Also, charge was 3.50 per gallon if not returned back to where fuel gauge was at..I returned it with a lot more gas than was expected, but wasnt offered a 3.50 refund for that.......

- Very annoying that an emergency contact is required, and that they call to confirm the emergency contact. This is a ridiculous requirement to impose on adults. Next time, if this requirement can't be waived, I will be renting elsewhere. - The steering wheel of my van was not centered.

You really do need to replace the person door at the back of the climate controlled storage area. That doorknob sticks and is tricky to use.
