The location on university Ave in Waterloo Iowa I rented a truck and The truck I had radio didn't work, it didn't shift in reverse very well. The box had leaves in it. Was not a truck that should have been rented. My opinion. With all that goin on with it.Tracy L.

Picked up trailer and found door lift assist cable was broke which also cut the right trailer light circuits so light did not work which is a safety hazard. I discovered this after I got home with the trailer so wasn't able to switch trailers or have U Haul techs fix the problem. Trailer number was AV 4064 J. Considering the cost of rental, I would expect these basic trailer functions to work. Also the Waterloo parking lot and facilities are too small and hard to maneuver through the lot to hook up.Kraig K.

The Waterloo, IA U-Haul Waterfalls website was down when I picked up the rental truck and also when I returned it, so I did not have the option of checking it out or back in by cell phone contact. The agent did not walk around the vehicle with me to check for prior damages-so I did this on my own. He also did not check to see if the appliance dolly was in the vehicle-it was not and I had to travel back to the center to obtain one. When I checked the truck back in, I made sure the fuel hand was where it was when I picked up the truck, However, my online invoice receipt had a fuel service fee and an additional fee for fuel. When I called to discuss this with the agent, Brandon Mills at U-Haul Waterfalls location he was argumentative with me and when I calmly stated I had a bad experience with them and was going to do a negative YELP review to let others know of this experience, Brandon was rude and abruptly terminated the call. Then, when I called back he sent the call straight to voice mail. I was pleased with the online chat agent who said the fuel tank was only 1/8 lower than where it was when I checked it out. He handled my call/complaint professionally and with excellent customer service, resolving my issue timely. Although I will never utilize that particular location again, I will continue to use U-Haul for future needs as a few weeks prior to that I had an excellent experience with the Frost Events Center, Waterloo, IA and was sorry that this location wasn't available for my last minute emergency truck rental needs.Margo C.

Took almost an hour to get my trailer that I had scheduled for 2pm pickup. Computer systems were down and there was only one employee. Once I was ready for pickup the employee helped 4 more people in line while I stood there waiting to get my trailer taking almost 30 minutes.Lane V.

The U-Haul app did not work on my smart phone. I was unable to use it to pick up my rental. Each time I tried to use the app to take the required pictures the app would rotate the photos incorrectly and reject the photo upload. I had to bother the already busy staff to finish my rental when I could have done it completely on my own.Benjamin S.

Very good service! Rates on longer trips are too expensive! U-haul is a major corporation now because you have good vehicles and good staffs, and good service on site! Your phone system SUCKS! FIX IT! You can afford to fix your phone systems. Be professional about that situation too! That makes U-haul seem cheap and it is VERY FUSTRATING!!!! ðŸ˜¡ Time to share the wealth! Lower your rates and hire more staff at a living wage and benefits and watch what happens! You won't be able to keep up with business! You will have the edge on your competition too! Give people what they want and need - thats your customers and your staff members! What a great idea - right? There's many many times I have needed a truck or van, but just couldn't afford you guys or anybody! I put stuff off or looked for a friend with a truck. The mobile check-in still required going to the counter since it was during business hours, and I could not tell if that really helped or not. There was not a line, but I suspect I would have needed to wait if there was because the location has a very minimal staff. I was late turning the truck in and they called me to check in, and I actually appreciated that.James K.

I had ordered my u-boxes to be delivered. We waited five hours at the storage place and it never showed. My husband drove to a local u-haul and picked on up himselfâ€¦. We also had to buy a new hitch which was an extra expense. My box did not show on time in NJ. Nobody bothered to let me know. When I called the help line (I use that term loosely), after waiting on hold for 30 minutes, the lady couldn't give me any information. She said that the trucks are subcontracted and that u-haul did not keep track of them. I was really shocked that in this day and age U-haul couldn't figure out a way to track trucks. The guy at my pick up location was great. I am hoping to get my $50 off per day for it being late but I doubt it. I will warn people about my experience.Matthew K.

This is only the second time I have ever used my hitch on the SUV. I have now learned the hard way about the hitch rattling. I wish U-Haul would have warned me about the noise and had solutions like silencer products I could have purchased before the 2 trips. Thank You Team U-Haul!David H.

I was a little late in returning the truck. Ten minutes after it was due back the manager called and told me that if I didn't have the truck back within the hour he would call the police and report the truck stolen. I argued with him about this--how could he say it was stolen if it was only going to be late. This bullying was totally unacceptable. I returned the truck within an hour of our phone call.Konrad S.
