The staff needs to be trained in professionalism. Scrolling and laughing on TikTok while conducting business is unprofessional and makes the owners appear incompetent. Not to mention the rodent issue in the facility.

The staff at this location are great. We rented a 20’ truck that was about the most uncomfortable vehicle we’ve ever driven. It was so loud inside the truck that we had to wear ear plugs and we had to wear solid footwear because the floor of the truck was so hot (there was signage in the car stating that the floor would get hot with engine use). I wish you could design the inside of the trucks to ride as comfortably as the vans.

The best one in the area.... for 2 months I have been renting a trailer from uhaul from broadview they are ok but very confused workers and equipment is always messed up somehow. Melrose park is a avoid they will send you off with bad equipment wrong number trailers , bad tires. Bellwood Is the place u want to rent from. The girl working the front counter was handling customers in record time . Place was very easy to maneuver in. Highly recommended

Overall experience with representatives in person was good. Upon return of equipment was charged for gas when gas was put in the Uhaul truck upon return. Try to use the mobile app to upload pictures of mileage and gas for proof and reference app stopped working mid return and we used our paper receipt which was placed in dropbox along with keys for reference of return time, date, mileage, and fuel was indicated! When I received final receipt, I was charged for gas when gas was returned on full like given, I contacted the representative from the Office and was met with opposition, regarding accuracy of gas level. I was told they would respond to me after contacting and verifying next customer usage after our return .How can you finalize another return before my return when my return clearly took place prior to their start? Never received a return call or message regarding this matter. Unacceptable.

The facility was always clean. The staff was friendly. There was miscommunication regarding when late fees will be applied. The app malfunction a few times when we first got the storage, which made it hard for us to pay before fees were applied. The staff was kind and left a note that I did not close my storage correctly. It had been months after and everything seem to be still there. They taught me how to lock my storage properly. Overall service is great . Would recommend 10/10.

When I left the facility the van had 58 miles in gas. My miles used was 92 round trip. I over estimated and said 120 miles. I returned the van with 72 miles in but because the gas gage obviously not working didn’t reflect more gas. I was charged for not returning the equipment with the proper gas. And I have pictures. Check the gas tank balancer or something!!!!! I’m not mechanic but I can read very well!!!

This location (bellwood) was excellent. However, i initially booked a van at forest park and was not aware the van would be automatically cancelled if not picked up within an hour of requested pick up time. We arrived at 8:20 and the van was auto cancelled at 8:00 and we were unable to re-book a van at this location. It would be helpful if the confirmation email and text stated that rental must be picked up within the hour or it would be canceled. We were driving the van from Illinois to Pennsylvania and we would have been devastated if a van at another nearby location was not available.

My only issue was being on hold multiple times when trying to arrange a dropoff location, on hold at one point for 45 min only to be hung up on. Two additional calls where I was on hold for 25+ min, your on phone customer service is terrible.

What I like about it? I own those extremely hot days. I can go into my storage and take my time. I'm 70 years old that helps me a lot. In the wintertime, when it's freezing cold, I can come in. Don't have to worry about rushing. The heat is consistent. Now I need somewhere to store my car. Do you have any suggestions?

Not the locations fault but pick up sucked. I reserved a truck and toy hauler for pick up 2 miles away from where I was WEEKS in advance and U-Haul waits till the day before my reservation to tell me that they won’t have it at the location and that I’ll have to drive 20 minutes away to get the truck and then another 20 minutes to another location to get the trailer then drive 20 minutes back to where I was moving from. And the most U-Haul would do is take $10 off my total and put an extra 25 mile allowance on the truck mileage which was taken up by all the traveling I had to do just for pick up.

I've been renting Uhaul trailers for many years - including occasionally from this location - but for the first time EVER a store rep refused to rent me the trailer UNTIL my wife (who is my backup contact) answered her phone. The rep told me it didn't matter that I had rented many times before. She left a message for my wife and said she would not rent to me until my wife called back - even if she was in an hour long business meeting. I sent my wife (who was at work) a text and then called her and luckily, she answered. She indicated that the Uhaul call had displayed as "Possible Spam". The rep then called her again and only then moved forward with the rental. The rep indicated she was just following policy, If so, this is a ridiculous policy for established renters and must be changed! I felt like I was a suspicious ex-con! If my wife had been in a business meeting, the rep would have made me wait until my wife was available because she was afraid of using her personal judgement in such a situation. I will try my best to avoid this location for all future rentals and inform friends to do the same. By the way, I was sent to this location when the first location didn't have the reserved trailer - but that is another issue that a phone rep already addressed.

This review is for the U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer at Allure on 2341 W Roosevelt Rd Chicago, IL 60608. My truck never showed up at my designated pickup time and the phone number for this location was disconnected. There was also no U-Haul attendant there to speak with. This left me to be on hold with U-Haul corporate for almost 2 hours trying to find out where my truck is and how I would be able to get a different truck that day. I also visited the nearby U-haul location for assistance on 1500 S Blue Island Ave Chicago, IL 60608 United States and the lady on the front desk could not have cared less about the issue we were facing and would not even bother to contact a superior or get in contact with that location. After finally settling we were not going to be able to get our truck from the confirmed and agreed location we were forced all the way to Bellwood which is 45 minutes of heavy traffic each way from our location. The truck was there this time and ready to pick up at least. The only issue we faced once getting the truck was that is smelled like death both inside and out.

Water leaked into my storage unit consistently every time it rained. I’ve complained about it several times. To points I had to throw away plenty of items that cost extensive amounts of money. Not only that, as I was moving out I found I rat in my unit which was incredibly alarming. When I alerted a staff member of this issue, she stated “there is an infestation after a building was tore down.” However there was never an alert, email or notification that was sent out. Once again, I found rat pellets through my items and things tore up by the rat. Which again resulted in having to throw away several items. This was an absolute poor experience and traumatizing to say the least. I would never rent with U-Haul ever again. I hope I could get some type of reimbursement for all the things I’ve had to throw away.

Keith at this facility is excellent and wonderful to work with. The place is awesome clean and everyone willing to help. The lot area was spacious and easy to pull in and out. The office was excellent. In booking this moving van I was scheduled to pick it up In Broadview Illinois and I confirmed that with the store and customer service. The day before I keep getting text messages from U-Haul to pick up the van in melrose park which is not convenient nor a place I would go to to rent. I called the Broadview store and it went to customer service. They were not helpful in fact one lady was out right ruin and did not care anything about my concern. They transferred me to Broadview store and this man could not care less that my reservation pick up changed stating only 10 minutes from Broadview which I knew that but I did not have a way to get there but I could walk to broadview location. He transfers me to melrose store and this person was new - his words- and had no idea how to help me. Being absolutely frustrated and needing a van I kept the reservation at melrose but started calling around for other options. All this while driving and pulling a U-Haul trailer. When I got back to Bellwood to return your trailer I asked Keith if he had a 15 fr van for Saturday I could rent because everyone told me nothing available near me only melrose park. Keith took the time and guess what had a van I could use. He cares and trying to understand which no one else did. Saturday I pick up the van and all good except I get text messages all day from melrose to pick up van which Keith canceled that reservation. Once again driving and text after text messages. I called customer service and the woman was extremely nice and helpful. Way to many text messages from U-Haul. The drop off location was perfect. Keith and Bellwood people are wonderful the Broadview team extremely disappointed with them and customer service was hit or miss. Most were excellent but a couple were terrible could not care less about my concerns.

Unfortunately, I was only given 2 weeks notice that the monthly rate would increase. I would not recommend this location now because there are self storage facilities in the area that are less expensive, up to $20 less for 5x5 unit. Customer service not very friendly, no greetings, smile, etc.

I had a truly beautiful experience at the U-Haul location on 25th in Bellwood. Keith, the associate who assisted me, was incredibly informative, calm, and professional. I hadn’t been to an automated facility before, so the instructions about how to get in and out were lacking. The guy at the desk took three times to understand what I was saying, that I had done everything online and just needed to know how to get into the unit. He couldn’t read the facility map because the print was so small. Then failed to tell me how to use the security panels. So I had to figure out everything on my own.

Maria De Santos and team should be lauded for this U-Haul facility. I have had this unit for several years and at one point had multiple units at this location and they supplied my truck for the move to Florida. This Maywood facility is exceptional, the staff have ALWAYS been great and super helpful. The facility is always clean, the lights all work great and even the restrooms were always clean and well stocked. I have recommended this facility to several people and would continue to do so. When I came to move into the facility in East Bellwood, they had reserved the wrong unit for me. I was supposed to be in 1334 per the initial contract. But when I got there that room was occupied with another person's lock. And the room next door to it 1332 was available with a new green moving tag on it. So there was just a little confusion on my move-in day. I had to wait till the next day to get everything rectified. And the process to change units was painless. The staff was very helpful.

I like that the units were inside and the high level of security. Although some units required a bit of walking to get to I would definitely use this facility again. Larry was very pleasant and made my decision easy to want to rent and even upgrade the size of my unit. The staff treated me like Gold. I was sad to leave. The place was always clean. I never had an issue getting access to my unit. (My only issue was the faulty like I purchased and put on the unit). But that has nothing to do with the facility. Overall I would highly recommend anyone to use this facility for storage and rental equipment. I was given A unit #1227 but when we went check it was not locked but filled with someone's belongings. The 2 agents helping me were both new and it took some time to fix the problem. I had to leave to make it to another facility to pick up A truck that was not available at the first store.

Andres was incredible. He was working alone on a holiday weekend and treated everyone with respect and worked super hard to make sure all my needs were met. He is a total asset to y’all. He spoke to everyone by name and treated each guest like they mattered most. It was great service.

Demetrius was very helpful… he went out of his way to get a closer storage unit so when we have to unload we didn’t have to far to unload… I liked the fact I didn’t have to ask he saw there was a problem and fixed it!!!

Saida Romero provided me with excellent customer service. The other two Black ladies treated me aweful. They refused me a truck and dollies that where clearly available for rent and other services. I am Black also so this is not a racially motivated comment.

Jasmin at the desk helped me out so much with my storage unit. When booking online picking the right size storage room was very difficult. I either got a smaller storage from what i originally picked or just picked wrong size. Jasmin was so nice and helped me pick a bigger storage and closer to the loading dock. She made my 1st experience with uhaul very easy and fast.
