I believe I was not fairly treated for the extra fuel in the tank. The needle was less than1/8 when I picked it up and almost on1/4 tank when I dropped it off. It was $260 to fill it up shortly after I picked it up. That works out to $65 per quarter tank or $32.50 per eighth of a tank. For the extra eight of a tank I was credited less than $6. You round up what's in the tank when a customer picks up and round down when they return it. Given how much I paid for the rental that is very petty.Mike L.

I ordered a one-way 20' Truck from Oakville to St Catherines. My ordered was confirmed the day before and "guaranteed" to be available at the West Oakville location. Upon arrival, I was told that my truck was in Toronto. They offered to rent me a different truck but I would have to bring it back to Oakville. I agreed but told them that I did not want to pay for the additional miles. They agreed to provide 160miles to cover the distance. After returning my truck, I was sent an email with an additional $130 in charges for mileage overages and gas. They insisted that I was only to receive 100 miles and charged be for an additional 67 miles. They also charged me $2.25c/L in gas after I had filled it to the line I received it at (which was not full). I called U-Haul customer service on November 8th and they said they would file a charge dispute and that the Manager would call me in no more than 3 business days. This was well over a week ago and I have not heard anything back. Next time I need a truck, I'll go to Budget, Penske or any one of U-Haul's many competitors. I suggest you do the same.Travis R.

The location was great but the one way truck's air conditioning was not working properly. The drop off in Oakville was excellent and discounted the $26 overage mileage to help compensate for the AC not working.Stephen L.
I've rented at this location several times before because it's convenient. Fuel gauge is never as described (always less) but at least that can be corrected. One truck had shredded windshield wipers, this last truck had missing light controls on dashboard - just a hole where the switch was. Replacement truck offered had a collapsing floor and windshield was filthy and wipers packed with leaves. One invoice query to manager about an overcharge was never acknowledged or explained Saving grace is the counter staff are very friendly and helpful but I think it's time I try somewhere else for rentals and storage. Uhaul is far too expensive for these hassles.Paul W.

I likely won't be using U-Haul again. To find out that my "reservation" is merely a request, and that I don't get confirmation of any reservation until 18-24h in advance is appalling. Worse yet, when I was called to "confirm" my reservation, I was told I had to drive 1.5h round trip to collect my rental, not the 5 minute drive I had "reserved". After being told this was the absolute closest option available, I got to spend the rest of my Saturday afternoon trying to find a closer option. Finally as a last resort I call back to U-Haul, where I am informed that there is the trailer I reserved available for pickup in Oakville, only 10 minutes away (not sure how this was available though, as I was informed during the first call that Brantford was the absolute closest thing available). I'm honestly amazed that U-Haul is still in business with such practices. I've also still yet to receive a receipt via email (not in my junk either) over 24h since I returned my rental, despite being informed during the return process to expect one. I guess I'll need to call in again for help with that too.Brian W.

Had to wait outside quite a while before personnel came to help, even though I was the only customer there. My recommendation to customers is, if you have space on your property, buy your own trailer . . . . This is the 2nd rental where the trailer I wanted wasn't available, even after receiving confirmation that my reservation was complete.david S.
This is the third time I have taken the vehicle on rent and every time I take there is an overcharge on my billing. We have to call back and spend hours to get the issue resolved which is not a pleasant situation every time. It makes us feel like we are beggars to and begging for something which is not correct to be rectified. Its very easy for the people on the floor to put the charges on the account and charge it to the credit card, they do not consider the hassle the customer faces to get these rectified. I would not say unprofessional staff cause some of them go beyond their way to help with such rectification, but this is not true for the staff on the counter who get the charges placed on the account without ensuring 100% accuracy. My words may be harsh but if a genuine opinion is asked then it's not worth it as its destroying the reputation of UHAUL with such unprofessional staff on board.Nitin T.

Check in was excellent, but lack of communication and follow up when canceling storage unit was beyond poor. I still have yet to recieve any type of confirmation email that is been canceled. They verified my email and it is correct. I was given a truck with a 1/4 tank of gas after telling them I was going from Oakville to Guelph, this caused me to gas up twice. The back of the truck was dirty and hadn't been swept. When I returned the truck I asked how much the rental was, he said it will show on you emailed receipt. Niether person got up out of his chair like it was too much trouble. I was also surprised that there was no inspection of the truck before I received it to check on any previous damage . Also he never left his seat and just pointed outside when I asked where the truck as. It was somewhere else on the lot and parked so close to another vehicle I had to enter the vehicle from the passenger side. Days later I attended the same U-Haul telling gathering same guy I was looking for a box for my 65â€ TV, he said I can give you a small one.????? As a result of this I went to the U-Haul 3245 Mainway Dr. Burlington and they were very nice and helpful. All this surprised me as I have always enjoyed good service with U -HaulSteve C.

The equipment check-in and/or check-out missed that there was not a license plate. With that said, the Roadside Assistant contact, Judy, was fantastic at managing the issue as we now had a trailer at our home that was illegal. Horrible experience with Uhaul. I have used Uhaul many times in the past but this is the worst I ever had it. I requested a 15â€ foot trailer but the reservation confirmed was for 4 hours NOT the 3 days I requested. If the request could not have been made I should have been notified or not scheduled at all. Therefore I had to call around and all I could get was a 10â€ foot trailer which cost me almost $1000 with you and time constraints with my previous and new place and elevator reservation slots! When I went to pickup the truck the young man serving me plus his 2 other colleagues where non stop chatting amongst themselves as to how he had zero sleep, tv shows and what status they were at on the tv binge and used profanity. I understand they where trying to make the best of there day but in my professional world this is unacceptable infront of customers let alone customers who are already frustrated with Uhaul situations and on time constraints. I should not have been in there as long as I was. But I will say the man by the name Rob who took my initial call in Oakville was nothing but incredible, friendly, helped me secure A truck, answered all my questions/concerns, etc. He truly deserves recognition from you as that's how a hardworking employee and CSR should be! Overall, I will likely never use Uhaul again. I spent hundreds of unnecessary dollars on trucks and storage unit and no assistance. I kept getting pushed to the side and just kept feeding you of what little money I had to get my belongings moved out of a home in time. I reserved the 24/8 share at this location for early Sunday (Sept 25th) morning pick up (7:30am), all went through good and confirmed, then at the pick up time, it just changed to hand delivery by 9:00am with no explanation what so ever!, all my plan for the day was disrupted and had to wait at the door in rain for almost two hours!! , Call the 800 number and was told to talk to store manager to see if I could be compensated, when taking the truck, was told they will do something at the time of returning, and at the time to returning, the rep said his manager was not available, but he will put my bill on hold until someone contact me on Monday, and then I just got the RECEIPT without anything about the wasted two hours - - - what a experience!!!!! just a simple word " sorry" ! I really like the location to be honest with you and it's very convenient with a lot of selection and I come there often and rent a trailer , however this is the second time I've been givien a trailer I just took it back yesterday the staff know all about it that it was damaged with metal sticking out and again ended up cutting myself and tearing clothing!!! I was told There was no possibility of this happening again ! So I did not worry about inspection because when I came to pick the trailer up it was getting late, I was late , and the guy helping attach it to my truck was training so he had a couple of kids hovering around the trailer I took a quick glance but of course I was on the wrong side of course I got in and drove away quite a ways away to my destination and it wasn't until the following morning when I'm trying to load it that this incident occurred and I realized I've been given another trailer in disrepair! We are extremely busy and there was no chance of going back and having to re-rent as we had a big job to do in a tight time limit when I returned I did tell the employee of the problem and he immediately sent this for repair! But I'm very disappointed , this should not happen ! These trailers should be inspected and cleaned upon repair every time !sue A.

I made an online reservation for a 5x5 storage space at 79.95 CAD . when I arrived there, the staff told me that it's on second floor and I asked to see elevator and troy are available or not and he said, yes. Therefore I confirmed that it's okay for me . he said that also one space available at ground floor and changed my reservation to that. till now everything is okay but at the end I found that the rent of this pace is higher than second floor and he didn't mention anything about it. It was very inconvenient, it was my first time and I had a difficult time since the first storage that was given to me was very small and we were stranded there for a good 45mins. Since it was 4mins past office hrs with no one answering the service line. At one point we called the # and someone hung up. We tried to access the unit between 5 to 6 PM and the office was shut because it was a Sunday. But the door would not accept the code and I called 1800 number which didn’t help at all. They said the manager at the site needs to be talked to. I had to cancel my plans and then come back the next day sacrificing my sleep and spend 4 hours to pickup and transport the items in my unit and then go for a 10 hour night shift at work. The people were polite. The girl who showed me my room realized it wasn’t clean already so immediately mopped it. But the service experience as a whole was absolutely horrible. We reserved the space and truck. Called to confirm everything was good the day before. Was thanked for confirming. Then. Arrived to be good our space was rented out. Apparently the reservation means absolutely nothing!! It as very upsetting. I had to move my mother in that one day and had done all the work to prepare only to be told that reserved means nothing to anyone at uhaul. The girl apologized that this is the policy. Offered to call another location. But we picked that location for a reason. It was very stressful for my senior mom. We ended up in a much more expensive space just to spent through everything. Had to fuel up midway through a move with a truck full of belongings, no truck availability, also rented me another cargo van with a flat tire, had I not noticed I could have been in serious danger on the highway driving.
