The stag is friendly & helpful. The equipment was clean, and appeared to be well maintained. Only complaint, the driver-side mirror was loose and would turn sideways while driving. Needed to be replaced because no adjustments could be made. We looked for a screw to tighten or another way to adjust it, they're wasn't any. I think it was a design flaw from the mirror manufacturer. Not a U-Haul problem.BARBARA ANN B.

I am still waiting on a refund of fraudulent charges. I turned in the trailer 3 hours after I rented it. The app would not allow me to return the trailer as it could not find my location. I then called customer service and waited 45 minutes without an answer. The next day I called the office where I rented it from and the gal (her name is Paige) stated to not worry, she checked in the rental and there are no additional charges. 2 days later, I received a manual check-in fee as well as an additonal days rental. I called the office, they told me to call customer service. I have waited up to 2 hours on the phone without it being answered. There are notes on my contract stating that the office made an error but I still cannot get through to customer service to secure my refund. This abhorrent customer service with predatory charges. You want me to give up so you can keep the additional charges.. You guys are beyond unprofessional.Jason S.

I couldn't figure out how to turn off the dome light. I've tried turning it left and right and felt it click but just remained on. I tried looking for another switch or anything that would turn it off, but I was unable to figure it out. If there could be some sign to let you know to turn it on and off. Like I said there was a small little sign next to the dome light, but turning it never turned it on or off it just stayed on. I had no choice but to leave it on when I dropped it off. Other than that everything was great. I love the easy phone pick up and drop off. Makes it very convenient to rent a truck.Young K.

The front staff were not attentive to me as a customer, but were more concerned with having conversations with each other. At one point two of the people working got into a "joking" argument about who was lazy and who would do what part of work. As a whole, the staff acted like I was a major inconvenience to them and were not helpful when I had questions, or when I needed help with a storage unit. The only reason I would use again - location and this office has the ability for me to not speak with the staff.Ryan V.

The first truck they gave us would not go past 20 miles per hour or shift pass first year we couldn't get out of the parking lot and we took it back and told them it was something wrong with the truck they gave us a second truck and that truck also would not go past 20 to 30 miles per hour seems as though these trucks have transmissions problems and I would suggest that they don't put people's lives in jeopardy just to make a few bucks. Please check the mechanics of the vehicles that you are renting to people. we were not satisfied at all. We had to rent a different truck from a different storeSheryl H.

I wanted a bigger unit. They blonde manager was rude. I explained my situation, she was not at all helpful. So i moved to another company all together that was able to meer my needs. The black lady manager was awesome. I vacated my unit nearly 2 weeks early and they said no refund for prorate. When i entered the facility there were 4 employees behind the counter with only 1 customer in line. They were making several jokes and having several unrelated side conversations. After waiting several minutes i finally asked if one of them could help me, to which one replied that she would try. I had already checked in and filled out everything online. i checked that i would decline the insurance, however the employee ask me "will you be keeping the standard insurance"? To which i replied "no, i declined the insurance". She replied "oh, I know, i just wanted to check". She was trying to upsell me. When i returned the unit after hours i attempted to use the website to check it in, however was unable. Then i was surprised to find that i was charged $20 for after hours return. That seems ridiculous. Not only was i not told about the charge, you get to rent the unit quicker because i didn't keep it the full 24 hours. i would like to get $20 returned to my credit card.WILLIAM P.

My original reservation wasn't assigned on the day of pick up. Mike at the Pro Hardware location, 458 Main St ,Belleville, MI 48111 where I had scheduled my pickup - was able to get me confirmed at the actual location. Check in took a very long time, the person who checked me in took the order of a person who came behind me while I waited in the chair waiting to do the paperwork, he told me that the unit had been booked 4 times and had to make sure I could get the unit. Then I was given a reprogrammed used access card. When I get to my unit there is a lien lock and customer lock. Trying to get storage unit situated they left truck on which I didn't know was on and went from Wayne rd to Newburgh and brought back which should be very near gas line and I was charged $20. Please make the instructions a little more clearer about arming and disarming your storage unit. Also, getting in with the access code didn’t work and I ended up with a swipe card. Best company that I had to personally deal with during the pandemic by far! The staff were understanding when payments were late after countless shut downs in the area related to Covid after our move to a new city! To boot, our family was allowed move out time due to Covid affecting myself personally bc we personally couldn’t do the move ourselves, our family was allowed to get our items moved to our new house without stress of worrying about storage issues. This is an extremely convenient facility in terms of location. The staff is very friendly. The indoor, drive-in garage access was great for secure loading and unloading. Unfortunately, I had several issues with my unit(s). The first unit reeked of urine and had dried urine stains on the floor. There was no way I could place my items there. Upon reporting this, the staff immediately switched me to another unit. The second appeared clean and was in a location much closer to the loading area. I soon realized the reason why this unit was probably vacant and available. A few days after a major rainstorm, I picked up a few items to find they were soaked and the floor of the unit was wet. I looked up to find that there were two large holes in the ceiling directly over my unit and the rain came in through the roof on top of my items. I reported this immediately and was told to take pictures of the damage for my records and that a manager would call me. Another week went by and I had not heard from anyone. I went back to the store and again was told a manager would call me. Two days later, I called the location. Someone from the call center(?) answered and stated that the store was swamped, but that they would place notes in the system and have someone contact me. Finally, after moving everything out, I once again went inside the store and I was told that there were multiple notes left on my account and the manager would call me. This was a total of four times and I have yet to hear from anyone. This review site specifically asks customers to “Please contact the U-Haul Storage Facility and try to resolve any disputes before leaving feedback”. Unfortunately, I have found that the process requested doesn’t work as I have tried to resolve directly with the store. Went to the Westland facility to rent a storage unit as we had received a free month after renting a uhaul trailer. The guy that waited on me said there wasn't a reservation in my name. Went to my car to grab my phone to show him the email confirmation. When I returned, he was waiting on another customer. I moved to the next window. The lady pulled my reservation up immediately. The reservation proceeded and we purchased a lock. The lady waiting on me asked the male employee to make sure the storage unit had been swept out. He left the counter and never returned. The female employee walked me thru the steps of using the key card upon entering and leaving the unit. Still, the male employee didn't return to let us know the unit was ready. We decided to drive to the unit with our storage and found that there were 3 locks on the door. Clearly the male employee never checked the unit to make sure it was swept out. We went back to the office to be told that someone checked into that unit by mistake and that there were no other units available. We were refunded the cost of the lock and left since the female employee wasn't willing to assist us in locating another unit to rent at another facility. As I left the building, I noticed the male employee pacing back and forth in the garage while talking on his cell phone. Obviously, he had a personal situation to take care of rather than doing his job. We did find another facility that had storage available, however, they were unwilling to accept the free month of storage that we should of had at the Westland facility.
