The mobile check in didn't work, causing us to wait over 30 minutes for them to call customer service and figure it out. Once we were finally on our way, we got to our location, and tried to start the truck to leave, the uhaul truck would not start. We had to call road side assistance and then wait almost 2 hours for them to come and replace the battery. Poor experience.

very upset with workers here and their lack of communication, i had a 1 day rental 9:30 am to next day same time, We worked til 11pm that night and had 5 items left on the truck..we get up in the morning and dont get to it until 9 am so at 937 your employee calls and says hi i was just checking when you are bringing the truck back...i tell him 5 things left we are doing it now withing a half hour we will drop it off...he says oh ok thank you i was just checking..never says anything else...we return the truck only to be told we are now being charged an extra day...never mentioned it..then i say well we would not have hurried or even brought it cause we could have still used it..he says well you guys can still take it..cause you gotta pay anyways, but i am already here with a ride to pick me up, with kids, just too much of a hassle to take the uhaul again;..so i return it..could have all been saved by employee just stating these facts on phone. (sir i will have to charge you but you can now keep the truck until this time..no hurry back, nothing, he literally SAID NOTHING!!! Very upset and frustated customer here, PENSKE will be my only truck rental place in the future , striclty because you hire young kids that dont even care about your business, Also i bought quite a few storage units from lockerfox.com from this location, and once again your service was terrible, nobody knew what they were doing,had to call manager just to take my deposit...wouldnt' do all 3 lockers at once, i had to keep coming back in..needed my id, would not let my girlfriend simply pay for the lockers...the service needs serious work...please have your managers take a closer look

Nothing, this one actually impressed me with it's processes, associates knowledge of your product, and professionalism of these young men and women. I do as much online as I can because people are just rude and I mean anywhere and everywhere. These young people represent UHaul with the kind of stuff to be VERY proud of. These two shops deserve an award, or something to award them for a job done like this old customer remembers WELL DONE!!!!!

More staff to handle the large volume of pickups and returns. I experienced 5min average wait time when picking up, but long wait time (20min+) when dropping off, and 5 other trucks in line waiting at the same time (around 3:30pm). The truck I rented ran well, but was an older model and quite worn. The rear cargo door was very hard to pull down and close.

The cost to rent the U-Haul in the amount of time I had to move from state to state was unacceptable and ridiculous I feel like if you’re going to charge me $500 for a truck I should have use of it for more than 36 hours especially when I’m driving seven hours away I will not use U-Haul again for state to state services. I lost both my grandparents and had to move their house and I didn’t have A lot of money and the fact that I had to return it less than 48 hours after I picked it up in another state was absolutely ridiculous it’s hard to grieve paca home and then move it from state to state with such limited time when I rented the vehicle I was under the assumption I wouldn’t have to have it back till Monday night when intern I had to have it back at 9 AM on Monday. It was ridiculous because I didn’t get the time I’d have to have it back until two hours after I rented it then what choice did I have but to bring it back by then I definitely feel like you guys owe me a partial refund for the inconvenience but I also know a corporation that makes millions of dollars off of people could care less about my situation

They miss read our gas gage. Said it had 3/4 of a tank of gas in it when it only had 1/4. Returned to the location within 5 minutes of signing the contract and was told they would correct it. We returned the vehicle after hours and were then charged 25 dollars For the fuel charge because they didn’t fix it as they had said they would. Super irritating and I will take action to correct the issue that was in their hands to begin with. If not I will take small claims court to recoup my funds that were stolen from me.

I set up reservation in Az for family in Erie, Pa. I still got a call from the uhaul office in Erie, Pa on my credit card # when my brother went to pick up truck. They said they could not see or get at my cc info? Anyways, I gave them the info on phone from Az and it worked out. Rest went fine.

The vehicle has front end issues - likely needs the ball joints replaced. It was clean though. I reserved the vehicle using the app under the impression that pickup would be quicker, however it took just as long as it would have had I reserved it normally. I would have chosen a different location but the vehicle I wanted for the day/time I wanted wasn't available.

When we arrived at a time close to closing to return it, the man that was helping us (I believe Josh) was super polite, smiled and brushed off that it was close to closing time with a “better late than never”. To which the guy in glasses behind him replied to us “Better tomorrow than now.” Very rude. He doesn’t seem like he should be in a customer-facing role if he can’t control what he says.

Please notify your customer that self check out needs to be done before you exit the vehicle and drop the keys into the box. I was charged an extra 20 dollars because i dropped the keys first.

Make you're equipment work as they can rented a trailer that would not allow me to lower tail gait kind of hard on my back it was not good

When dropping my trailer off the attendant didn't say hello or anything just kind of stood there like a zombie staring into the PDA to check the equipment back in. I explained to him that one of the tail lights was out and there were LEDs out in the other tail light. After i said that he replied with " what ?" and just kept staring into the tablet. Instead of waiting for him to unhook the trailer staring off I did it it myself. He asked if I needed a receipt and I said no. Didn't say anything and went inside. Not sure if I was done dropping it off or what, waited there for a few and then just left. Very personable.

Customer service here was absolutely terrible. No inspection or documenting of damage already done. They told me they look at it each week and document damage. How do you know who did what. Shady. Tryed to over charge me twice. Uhaul really should stop by this location for surprise visit. Rented two other times in the last month from two other Uhaul places. Each of those times were ten times better. Equipment good shape, pictures taken and inspection done before we left.

Overall my experience was meh. The truck had virtually no power and struggled over every single hill. I think Penske has the right idea with giving you a price up front. Uhaul seems to try and hide how expensive it is to rent so that’s disappointing. Will definitely not be renting again.

4 employees more interested in watching the Steelers than checking out our equipment. Dropping the F-bomb was a bonus. Not impressed. Then rented car carrier to us that wasn't even on the lot claiming "it must have been stolen". Sent us to another location in the opposite side of town away from my residence burning miles and fuel. Was promised that the manager would contact me the next day about this. No response. I called corporate. They sent a message to the manager with a promise that I would be contacted the next day. Still crickets.

I was switched from the W12th St, Erie location to the Pittsburgh location. When I spoke to a customer rep she ensured me the boxes I ordered at the W 12th location would be at the Pittsburgh location - two were not. I had to make due with "substitutes" as a work around. Make sure what the customer ordered is available especially when you switch the pickup location.

The hallways / facility look clean but my unit had a lot of blue mice pee & droppings in the unit & empty bait box..Lot of clean up needed. On move out, I found a mummified dead mouse. Gross!
