U-Haul should make the meaningful assurance requirement more clearly known prior to pick up at the store location. I reserved my truck a week in advance of my pick up and this requirement was only made CLEAR at the counter at the time of pick up. Coldly telling me I need to give a number of a friend or loved one RIGHT NOW and have a stranger RUDELY cold call them without warning is not good customer service. If I didn't need the truck to pick something up I would have left the store. And then to have to keep going down my contact list because there wasn't an answer by my contact...RIDICULOUS! And in front of other customers....handing out personal info?!? If I had warning it wouldn't have been as bad. I could have asked permission and scheduled the calls. At the very least, I would have been prepared to be TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL when I arrived to pick up my rental. The experience was infuriating. U-haul needs to get with the times. After using 24/7 check in I will never use it again if possible. After checking in I was surprised with having to give a backup number for them to call and confirm what I don't know. Then, they electronically told me that I needed to check in at the facility. I ended up having to create an entirely new reservation. Lost an hour of a long day. I also had to upload driver's licenses after having done that during the pre-check-in process. During the frustrating time of creating a new reservation my agent was also the mask manager and delayed my frustration further. I finally asked her to focus, let someone else monitor masks and get me out of there. Otherwise, the truck was clean and easy to operate.teresa N.

4-10-21 at 10:17 pm I have a text from my son James Bowie on my phone when he gave up trying to check in the truck return on your app. It would not work. I also have the number UHaul sent during the process to confirm it was my order. We were charged $20 even through the truck was returned and even though the app did not work. This was the 6th truck we had rented & returned so he knew how to do it. When we rented the 7th truck 4-17-21 the guy's attitude was like â€œSo what?â€ We need to rent 3 more trucks & I think we will do business with someone else. When I called UHaul to protest somebody said you were open 24-hours & we should have called that night. So, no one is concerned over losing business over $20 but me. would like to start with a full tank of gas. It was very difficult to estimate how much fuel to purchase after the rental. I only drove 13 miles. The fuel gauge was not responsive when filling. I added 5 gallons of gas before the gauge moved. By then, I had replaced way more fuel than. That increased the cost of the rental and reduced the value of the rental for melester P.
The more seasoned staff at this place are extremely knowledgeable. The overall customer experience isn't as good as some other places (takes longer than it should to get rental started at the counter), but I will still likely always default here with it being close to my house.John W.

Very deceptive around fuel costs. We used this van for a very short trip to a storage unit, put $12 of gas into it which was more than we used and still got charged for a tank of gas because they said we needed to fill it to full instead of where it was when we got it. My daughter did the booking of the storage and U-Haul online. Unbeknownst to the both of us we rented a locker as well as a small storage truck. The small storage truck was able to move all of her belongings from a one bedroom apartment the problem came in when we realized at 8 o’clock at night that she rented a locker instead of an actual storage room! Young lady who gave me the keys told me to look for the number on top of the truck and pretty much nothing else I drove around in circles trying to figure where 1546 was 26 and after driving around three circles I figured out that it was in the inside yet so knowing that I had to keep the hall for a longer time and speak to you are represented online who was very helpful and saved my impression for the storage facility the managers I spoke to secondly was very helpful as well but there was a customer service rep or cashier named Liam a young girl not very helpful At all her service was very very unserviceable it was as if I was bothering her she spoke very low and didn’t greet me when I came in like when I came in the second time and was greeted upon arrival.Leah H. | Online Move In

Eatman helped me after being chided By a woman about not having a mask on. My family has a medical exemption and they were not honoring it. However, after explaining the law to Eatman, and offering to step outside to do the transaction, he kindly offered to help. Please update your staff on the laws.
