Initially my experience was very positive. I rent a storage stall from U-Haul, I have had a trailer hitch installed on one of our vehicles and have rented vehicles from this location several times in the past. Generally speaking the staff is very friendly, helpful, positive and professional, however on this particular rental, I encountered a staff member that was very disturbing. Upon returning the rented van, the inspecting "technician" was less that professional and didn't seem acquainted with the process regarding the return of a vehicle. He could not start the vehicle and had to ask for assistance from other staff and appeared very confused with the technology that would produce the millage record. Further more, the individual's appearance seemed less than professional with a head covering and his presentation was such that he appeared to want to entertain himself more than provide good customer service. I felt like I was talking to a drug dealer rather than a U-Haul representative. After the millage was finally checked, this individual seemed to suggest I owed him the balance of the millage charge when in fact, these charges were taken care of when the initial vehicle rental was arranged. As I indicated to this person, I was going into the office to "check things out," I was then referred to as "siripoo." It was unfortunate to have had this experience as the U-Haul staff are general y very professional. I would suggest that U-Haul review their dress code and protocols for staff dealing directly with the generally public. The return of this vehicle did not end up being a positive experience. In simple terms, ask your attendants to skip the "jive crap" and behave like a professional as they represent U-Haul from start to finish. Will I use U-Haul services again... probably, they seem to be the "only game in town." I will however, be watching to see if any changes in the process/service are made. Please know that I am not one of those 5% of the people that constantly complain, I am however, someone that appreciates good customer service. As stated, I use U-Haul service frequently and should be recognized for my loyal support of U-Haul, however, this experience needed to be brought to management's attention. Good Luck.Christian P.

I reserved a upstairs 10x10 with a possibility of a downstairs unit that didn't happen on move day. I also reserved a small 5x10 downstairs for the really heavy items. When I arrived my quoted price was another $20.00 for a downstairs unit. We had to take an upstairs due to that change so my movers totally broke their backs going up the stairs with heavy stuff and one was my daughter. I was quoted $1200 for a truck rental. I was never sent any email with the quote. The guy I spoke to on the phone said they would keep it on record for a few days. I called around a couple of places and then the next day called to make the reservation. I figured since they still had my info that the quote would still be there. So then today, pressed for time, to make this move for my daughter go to pick it up, and they say it'll be $2200. I told him I was quoted 1200 and he said no. I said it should be in the records from the guy I had talked to. He said it is 2200 and nothing he can do. Not his problem. I would have walked out and took my money someplace else, but it's not like we can just hope someplace else has something available, when there is going to be a 13 hour drive ahead of us. I have the email for the reservation but no price is on it. #83756164 an extra $1000 unexpected for this move to me is inexcusable. I'm not sure if they do this to every customer to increase profits or something. Quote one thing then say another. Very dishonest. I already know I won't ever get my money back from this overcharge, just know I won't be doing business with you again, and will tell everyone I know not to as well. Ridiculous. My reservation email never had a price on it or I would have been able to catch it sooner.James B.

The inside of the cab was dirty. Empty water and soda bottles were under the passenger seat, as well as, behind the driver's and passenger's seat. There was a roll of paper towels, which did come in handy, behind the driver's seat. We hit heavy rain and apparently the seal between the cab and box was not a good seal. Our personal items that were stowed behind the seat, as well as, the two of us, were soaked from all the water that came into the vehicle. This location was not going to give me any money toward my discomfort, until I spoke with a manager, who relented. I would not have called had our items just been damp, but they were soaked. The employees were paid to check out this vehicle and apparently did not do their job.Nancy T.

Be upfront with all possible scenerios. Verbally inform the customers of limited availabilty, possibilty of traveling to pick up a truck and not being able to fulfill needs. This review has nothing to do with the personnel at either the pick up or drop off location but Uhaul it's self. I was supposed to pick up my trailer near Frederick, MD and ended up having to drive an hour out of the way to pick it up. After trying to contact Uhaul multiple, lost service once and got hung up on by Barbara which I came in contact with through calling the uhaul customer service number. Barbara has a horrible bed side manner and if anyone sees her in person please give her the middle finger for me and tell her to quit her job if she doesn't like dealing with people. I called back and another lady was willing to help me but the call went silent. She was a nice lady but as for having to drive an hour one way to pick up the trailer and dealing with Barbara I will try to avoid Uhaul as much as possible. This was a very bad experience and some very unprofessional peopleDAVID C.

The gentleman that worked there were very nice and very helpful. I found it very frustrating that when you call the main number you are on hold so long and the same messages play over and over and it's very annoying. When I drove away with the truck I thought it was broken it drove so rough. I tried to call to see if I was doing something wrong but I couldn't get through. It would take be nice if you could get through to talk to a human even after hours if they had someone on call for questions or problems that need immediate attention. I was very upset that my original time and location was changed. I know there is a notation of the possibility of that happening, However I had my movers schedule me in to help me. I would have rented a smaller truck if I had known at the time I placed my order. I had to go 30 minutes out of my way to bring the truck back. I would have appreciated being given the option to schedule something guaranteed. My nerves were badly shaken trying to rearrange everything. I would think you could come up with something better. I did not appreciate the emotional stress it caused me. So, once again people were nice but system were you change everything on a person when much time and effort was put in to planning stinks. It is ridiculous the prices you charge. I rented a truck for 12 hours. Put 75 miles on it. I did bring it back with a quarter of a tank of gas less than what they had. $109.95 plus $27.33 for gas. A whopping grand total of $137.28. Definitely do not recommend for anything. I called and commented or complained if you would and the girl just gave me dead silence. Did not offer anything or any type of service to help me understand why they charge so much. Not even an apology. Thanks for nothing...Christine L.

Great, clean and secure storage. Only recommendation: my auto pay credit card was hacked and my uhaul bull was due the same time . A phone call would have been a great idea, instead a letter was sent snail mail to my emergency contact. So almost a week went by before I learned about this and feared my things would be in jeopardy. A phone call to me immediately would have allayed my fears. The challenges I faced was the big cracks in the hallway leading to our unit. The parking was not available, because of the u haul trucks. Over all the staff was very helpful and patient. Back in January Someone left a cart on the 2nd floor near my unit... it was a Tuesday morning I was in about 8amish, There was no cart near my unit or on the second floor at that time so must of been someone after I had left. I just needed to grab something out of my unit I did not use a cart nor do I have the energy to drag a cart upstairs. I get home 10/11ish that morning. I see there's a voicemail on my phone. The office lady left me a nasty voicemail accusing me of leaving a cart upstairs near my unit. Called back as she was still nasty as I was explaining it wasn't me. I don't appreciate being accused of something I didn't do. I was gonna speak to the manager about this but never did.
