The location was great and very helpful but corporate could use some work. Uhaul advertises 24/7 service yet I rented a truck without a prior reservation and was told another location had the vehicle transport we needed, which was okay, we understood due to being last minute. They said they would hold it and it was reserved for us. We drove to that location and was called when we were more than halfway there that it was no longer available and that we had to backtrack and go 40+ miles to another location. All in all we ended up driving 33 miles more than our allotment. I called the main uhaul # explaining that I went to Uhaul to help get my broken down car home from a weekend away and about my experience to see if I could get the miles reimbursed and they refused. I ended up paying the extra gas and miles for the added runaround and they couldn't care less, just told me some story about a guy in canada who drove 400 miles.

I have rented a motorcycle trailer from this location 3 times in the last six months. The first two times I was offered the optional insurance and chose to accept it. I decided to contact my insurance and see if this was necessary. As it turned out it was not. The optional insurance was unnecessary. On this occasion my wife picked up the trailer for me and I specifically told her to decline the insurance. Unfortunately, the representative that checked her out included the insurance without even asking her. When I called several hours later when I was loading the trailer, they told me there was nothing they could do about it because it was past the 1/2 hour mark. I feel they took advantage of my wife and their customer service was poor.

First off it says $19.99 to rent a truck but u don't tell it all. U do not tell that it's not only $19.99 but there is a security deposit, u have to pay for mileage and u have to make sure the gas tank is back on full where it should be!! I was told it would cost be about $90 to get the truck and when I brought the truck back I would get money back. Well it cost me $35 in gas and when I brought the truck back I paid an additional $45.23. I will never ever rent a truck from U-haul again and I would never ever recommend U-haul to anyone because they cost for all of it is just ridiculously insane!!!! Especially right now with what people are going through they should take that into consideration when they are throwing all these extra charges that they don't tell u about til u bring the truck back!!!

Internet was down at check in at 9 AM, so we could not get the truck. This was the last Sunday of the month and time was precious to get out of our apartment. Thetvsaid they'd call us when it was back up, but they didn't. We went back around 10 to see if they were operating and they were, so we started our check in. I give them my license and it was rejected for being expired, but due to Covid my license expiration was extended to August 31st, clerk told me it was only good to June 30th. He almost canceled my truck until I found a Penndot article explaining the extension. This delayed us at least another half hour, so we really couldn't start our move until 11 on the last Sunday of the month. I don't see a $50 guarantee either, because apparently running the whole system online and not having reservation backup plans is not their fault, as well as being unaware of current licensing extensions.

The Williamsport Office has good employees. The trucks though are another story. Not only was my truck struggling to even run the steering was so off and out of line the wheel was severely off kilt. Do you people even realize the danger that poses to someone who isn't as experienced a driver as myself? It rained during my move and the steering was so loose that it was almost undrivable. However 24 hours is all we had so forge on we did... thanks a bunch Uhaul for making my experience so good yet so bad all in one shot. Bravo. You should all be ashamed and I promise I will never use your company again until the day I die.

We called and asked about the ball size needed to rent a uhaul trailer we were told a 2 5/16. When I asked why they said a 2 and 5/16 ball would work he said "we have new people being trained"! We traveled 45 minutes to pick up the trailer only to find out that a 2" ball is needed not a 2 5/16 ball!! We had to travel the 45 minutes back home to change the ball then travel back another 45 minutes to get the trailer. When we hooked up to the trailer I checked the 4 ways to be sure they worked and the drivers side didn't work. The man then said "most of the time it's a fuse". He got a tester and it was not a fuse it was the light bulb itself. He then took out the bottom light of the same side and plugged it into the top then put the broken bulb back in on the bottom.
