My experience was pretty good overall other than one thing. The person who helped me get the trailer hooked up did not secure the trailer to the ball and I had to end up doing it myself after leaving the lot. While I was lucky nothing major happened, the trailer could have come off while driving down the highway and caused major damage to both my car and the trailer. The people who helped me return the trailer were very helpful though which was nice.Christian R.

The general manager did not bring the truck up and check it before we took possession. There was a bag in the back the "supposedly" held 6 blankets that were free with the rental to use. The bag had only 3. So I had BETTER not be charged. Plus I would've rather had a truck without that as it took up space and I rented 2 bags of blankets. Also at the checking back in...the young kid who assisted me tried to literally fine me of every scuff and scratch. I did do pictures when I did my initial walk around and verification. Literally every scuff. And he was also going to dock me for the rust on the truck!!!! It has 111,000 plus miles. He literally said I didn't clean the inside of the back of the truck because there was 1 leaf. Really? I swept out debris that was in there before we took off. The inside was not maintained. This U-Haul doesn't really clean or maintain their fleet. I was quite disappointed because I have always used U-Haul and never had a truck or service quite this bad. I also did not get a free month of storage voucher as "advertised". And U-Haul really should fill their tanks up a little higher then a freaking quarter of a tank. To me that shows when someone returns the U-Haul and they do not fill it with gas...U-Haul charges them WITHOUT actually filling the tank and then the next sucker gets it with a damn near empty tank and THEY have to fill it for safety AND also fill it before returning!!! That is very shady and pretty sad. I think I will go a different route the next time I need to use moving services. They should be happy we returned it with a half a tank so they got the better end of the deal and we got crap since I returned blankets UNUSED and didn't get a refund..Nicole T.

I specifically told the agent that I was renting the truck to haul our boat from Ridgeway mn to Arcadia wis. I was quoted 19.99 and 79 cents a mile After I loaded up the back of the truck I went to back up to the boat trailer and realized that I only had the receiver!! I then called uhaul and explained to the agent that the ONLY reason I had rented the uhaul was to tow my boat!! He said I was not able to tow a trailer with the truck they had gave me !!!Please tell me how I could do that if I couldn't use the trailer hitch?? He then told me I could bring the truck back and they would give me a van, mind you the truck was loaded!!! I wouldve been charged for the miles I put on the truck plus the rental!!! This is unacceptable I went and unloaded the truck and brought it back. Unfortunately you were closed!! Could someone please contact me so we can straighten this situation out. The worst experience renting a truck. I did the 24/7 share thing and was to pick up truck at 7pm on friday. I get there and went through the process found truck and paid, then popped up error on your next page, so had to call. Come to find out your employees didn't stage the truck. Didn't leave keys in lock box, so I had to drive 40 miles back home (80 miles round trip) without the dam truck after u took my money for it. Then to drive back another 40 miles at 7 am to get the keys for truck. So wasted money I don't have for gas, and over 3 hours of my time which is very valuable.. so I am not happy at all and will never use your service again nor recommend your services.Alex H.

We reserved and held our CC # for a 26 ft. truck. My husband drove the truck less than 5 miles and it stopped working. The staff was understanding but the process of having to go through getting the vehicle towed and re-renting another truck ( which was smaller than we needed) was a pain! We were forced to work with UHaul corporate and it was a mess, and caused a huge delay in trying to move to our new home.Deb K.

A lot of play around the 2" ball hitch, couldn't tighten your trailer tight enough, felt unsafe and a lot of noise, shaking of my vehicle over bumps.Lauren S.

If wheeling items in and out from the car bay everything was fine, however the ground was incredibly bumpy going through the main unloading doors if parked outside the building. Chunks of concrete/tile are missing near the doors and it causes the carts to jerk quite a bit, I had things fall off more than once. Would be great if the units were accessible 24/7 but I understand why staffing concerns make this unrealistic. Other than the flooring near the door this is a great location. Took, my cash , then charged our credit card then, we returned the truck on time they didn't get it on the system charged use again today , when we used the truck, yestarday,, there is no recorded of my cash, being paid , they weren't going to return any deposits,told me I stole from them at night because we picked up at night, so we were told we were stealing and she was gonna call the cops on me so they could get me any time she wants to call them, she told me she wasn't gonna deal with me because she was up with the cops all night there, it went on from there this was a manager, not the employee the manger also made me come on and get a refund for trailer rental and recharged me 100.00,instead of the original 7?, so with all my cash charges paid on the truck, they took my cash, payment, with no record of a cash pay and cash deposit, they took my cash and charged my husbands card at the same time then, it's morning after truck was there at 2:30 am, not even a full 24 hours, that truck has been sitting at uhaul, and they charged us without us even taking it off the premises today after it was returned before our 24 hours was up, so there has been theee charges for I time use for 45 miles,,Sheila M.

Make sure you tell them that these trucks are rented for one way, and also make sure to find out if they leak. Two of my dresser's got ruined from water damage and a lot of my stuff got wet. If you pickup a uhaul make sure you take a picture of the gas in vehicle, mine was only half full and I told the lady inside , but I still had to pay 40,00 dollars more for gas.sally S.

Train staff better. First asked for a 6x12 utility trailer with ramp for 24 hours. Looked before online and was 34$ for the ramp trailer. Clerk said 29$ for the trailer I asked if that was the one with the ramp she said yes. I assumed it was all correct cause I stated numerous times I needed 24 hrs. Went to get trailer she told me I was getting nope she messed that up and gave the one with the gate. She changed that and I got the one with the ramp but she had marked down I was returning at 1030 pm I had told her it would be approximately 1030am I'll be dropping off. Called about 830am to add a day and was told I was charged another day for being late when it should have been 430 pm contract time ended if she would have Gave me the time I requested. So for something that should have costed 90 was 130. She was not understanding about any misunderstanding and wouldn't even offer some kind of help just stated I was charged another day for being late. I should have looked at the contract and I will every single time after this if I choose to use uhaul again. Very disappointed with their customer support. Very disappointed about the whole situation. Regret renting a trailer.SHAWN N.

I requested my truck 18 miles from my home approximately 20 minutes away the day before I get a text telling me my truck is 2 hours away so now I have an additional 3-1/2 hours time to go get the truck and bring it back and also have another 3-1/2 hours for someone else to come also to bring the car back additional gas and miles that you charged me for I was told by the regional manager that he would put in extra miles on the initial contract however I received an additional bill for the extra miles also the first truck had a low tire then the contract was redone for another truck that had low tire light on also finally I got in the third truck that did not have any low tires so instead of the initial 15 minutes to get us going it took an extra whole hour messing with trucks your sales rep there did her best but to say the least we were not pleased with the whole experience from start to finish and be overcharged on our bill . I really wish I didn't have to drive from Sparta wi to Winona just to pick up a trailer. Then have to drop off at the same location. Thay was alot of unnecessary fuel cost for an across town move. The Winona location was huge and really impressive compared to the lacrosse location. I don't have anything bad to say about the location. A suggestion I hope uhaul takes and implements. Improve options at all locations instead of just 1 location within 100 miles having all options. And the other 10 having nothing. Have full ramps on all trailers or offer detachable ramps that can be added on just like moving dollies or carts. Spread out your trailer inventory just as much as your truck inventory..Peter P.

Your people need communication I was 15 late dropping The truck off that I had rented I called to let them know that I was going to be 15 minutes late and the gentleman that answer the phone insisted that I would make it in time you know I knew there was no way I was going to buy my location he never told me where to put the keys I brought the truck back I got there at like 20 after seven truck was there all night long but I had the keys with me I was not supposed be charged another day I was charged $49 at $.86 I was only supposed to be charged $20 plus $.79 for 6 miles so somebody needs to call me at 5074551 90 so we can straighten this outSheila J.

Special thanks to Amber for her extraordinary customer service. She is definitely the kind of manager/employee I would love to have as a first contact representing my company! Moving can be so stressful and especially when moving 1000 miles to a new home, new job, new schools etc. Usually by the time you make it to the end of the trip and have to unload, the anxiety and fatigue, stress and all the problems along the way have peaked. Amber took the time and energy to get us set up with only a couple of days notice. What a relief. She returned our calls promptly and followed up on everything until the day we were able to move to our new home! Thanks Amber for providing a much needed bright spot in such a tough experience. Can't think of a thing. Although it was a great learning tool, too. when our 6-year-old grandson sat in the cabin with me for a minute, he asked what the one funny thing was next to the door handle. It was the handle to hand-crank the window u and down! He's never seen one.Tim H.

Initially, my move in experience was frustrating due to dim lights after store hours and trouble with the security system. After discussion with the manager, I understand this facility is working to improve the lighting after store hours. I found the manager kind, helpful, and professional. My unit was ready to go when I arrived. The facility was very clean and plenty of flatbed carts were available. This location appears to be relatively new as of July 2022, so hopefully they will figure some things out. However, as of July 2022 the employees don't know their heads from their asses. The security system is not set up appropriately. Nobody answered my online message. The manager (listed as the after hours contact person) did not answer my call, nor my voicemail. I am appalled by the lack of communication, and regret giving this place any business. The only redeeming factor is the storage units being new.Jared M.
