I had to wait 40 minutes in line to get the keys. There was only 2 people working and they were having to do it all. There were 6 people in front of me in line. The poor girl that checked us in had to go clean the truck out, which I appreciated very much. The 2 employees there were very nice and apologetic for the wait. They just needed more help.

My experience over the weekend was one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. Let me give you a rundown: 1) I reserved a truck for 10am on Saturday. On Friday I was informed that the truck wouldn’t be available until 4:30. Not ideal considering I had to move my daughter out of her college apartment that day because she had a final walk-through the following day, but I was ok with it. 2) On Saturday when I went to retrieve the truck, I put in the address that was sent to me and it took me to a vacant lot where there were no trucks. When I tried to call the number listed on the reservation, the number was disconnected. I then called the 800 number and finally got in touch with someone at a regional office. They could not help me with the location of the pickup since they were not located there. But they DID let me know that regardless of the location, they did not have a truck for me as the person who had it before me didn’t drop it off. By this time, it was well past 4:30 (my scheduled pick-up time) and I had not received any notifications that my truck may not be ready. I was then told that I could drive to Montgomery, AL to pick up a truck (approx 40 miles away). Because I NEEDED a truck that day, I drove to Montgomery. On the phone, I was told that I could inform the Montgomery office of what happened and they could help to offset the additional charge for a one-way trip. When I arrived in Montgomery, it took almost 45 minutes to get the truck as the situation was apparently very confusing for the gentleman at the counter. I was then charged $100 more than my original quote because it was a one-way trip and the mileage was high. In Montgomery I was told that I would have to take it up with the office in Troy to get some of the charges returned. Of course, when I returned the truck on Sunday, the office was closed and there was no one to speak to. Which brings me to the drop-off process... 3) I was sent a text message with drop off instructions and an address. When I arrived at that address (Troy Self Storage, 409 E Walnut St, Troy, AL 36081), there was a locked gate and a call box with instructions to enter a 5-digit code to get in the gate. I did not have any code to get in the gate. I called the number on the instructions and got sent to a voicemail. I left a message but never received a call back. I then called the 800 number do U-Haul to get some help. I got disconnected the first time after waiting on hold forever and explaining my situation. I then had to call back and wait on hold (again) to get connected. I explained my situation (again) to someone who then transferred me to someone else in a regional office where I had to explain what was happening (yet again). By this point, I had been sitting in the truck at the gate for over 30 minutes. I finally spoke to someone who could potentially help me. She gave me another location (A&B Self Storage, 816 US Hwy 231, Troy, AL 36081). When trying to find THAT location, it bec

Employees need better training or they JUST don't care about Customer Service ALL BUT ONE EMPLOYEE and her name was Toya. Even the Manager Brad has poor customer service I left messages three days in a row before I received a call from him. To be quite honest I believe Mr. Brad is being stretched far beyond the capabilities of one person and for such a big company like U-Haul I would like to think that you care about your EMPLOYEES as MUCH as you pretend to care about your CUSTOMERS. Make sure that the uhaul that the client reserved is actually delivered on time and available to the client that reserved it. I had numerous problems getting the uhaul I reserved in a reasonable time frame, i.e they did not have the size uhaul that I reserved and placed me with a smaller one. This took approximately 2 1/2 hours past my reservation time; thus requiring me to pay for my movers for 2 hours of time that they were not able to complete their job due to no uhaul being available. I called and discussed everything with Uhaul customer service (which took over 2 months to talk to people) and they were still of no assistance and provided no refund for the money they cost me by not having the required equipment. The customer service was horrible, but the higher ups/manager uhaul were even worse. I had to pay over $200 for my movers to just sit there because of Uhaul's inability to do their job; and what was I offered in return-$50, that's it. After 2 months of trying to talk to someone that could correct the problem-all I was offered was $50. It was absolutely ridiculous. Uhaul should be ashamed of themselves. I was punished because the person that had rented the size Uhaul I did, did not return it when they were supposed to. Even though the Uhaul location told me that my rental was on the way (which was a lie). This location and the surrounding area did not have another Uhaul in the size that I had reserved. Therefore I had to get a smaller size and attach another trailer to the back of it. Completing this and getting the Uhaul to my house took over 2 1/2 hours-in which I was paying movers to just sit there--because the Uhaul was supposed to be there. I will never recommend Uhaul for anyone to use; and I will tell my experience anywhere and everywhere that I can. This way people will know how unhelpful and unreliable Uhaul is.

I was overcharged for the rental. I did not select safemove, and told the clerk at time of rental, she said she entered the declination in the notes section of my rental record. I used the mobile app for check in, and again disputed the charge. The charge showed up again on my final bill.

We left the truck after hours and tried to use online app. Waited on phone about 45 minutes. You need to fix so that customer can be told when they will be called back. We left key and contract in drop box but still we had to make the decision. Knowing this after hours will not be a problem next time but first time users won’t have my knowledge.

Uhaul, you suck!!!! I reserved the 26 foot truck 5 days in advance 5 minutes from my house at 8:30 am. I was told the truck was available. I received a TEXT not 1 call the day before I was scheduled to pick up the truck changing my location to 45 minutes away from my house at the time I could pick the truck up was at 6:00 pm. I was going to be nice and work around Uhauls sorry service BUT THEN I received a call 2 hours before I was scheduled to pick up the truck with ANOTHER CHANGE of location BUT now the truck was in MONTGOMERY, AL and it was a 15 FOOT truck which is 11 FOOT SHORTER then the truck I reserved 5 DAYS EARLIER!!!! The service at the Montgomery location SUCKED and the truck smelled like Marijuana and had cigarette butts and ashes in the ash tray! Needless to say Uhaul sucks and I will never use its service again.

I rented a 15” truck. I purchased the $14 insurance. I was told that I would not have to pay for any equipment. I lost the dolly. They charged me $40 for it . No one has responded to my concern.

The General Manager seems to have an attitude. He talks to you like you're stupid. I mentioned my experience at this location, and several people told me they had the same experience! Ridiculous! He needs to be coached on GREAT customer service. No matter what the business is customer service is important!

It was raining and the cargo van got stuck in the mud. The towing company(All About Towing) is a prejudice and racist company in Montgomery, Alabama. The man got out of the towing truck and said that he was not going to do the tow which was based on my ethnic race. The worker said that it was going to cost much more than the insurance would pay. He said that he would probably rip the bumper to tow the cargo van. However, another towing company ( Ideal Roadside LLC) came out to the site and towed the cargo van in less than five minutes without any complications. Use Ideal towing in Montgomery, Alabama. They are really true their name which is IDEAL..

I was charged for equipment I didn't use and for gas that I already put in the truck before drop off. I would recommend the after hours drop off to check everything accurately, as of now I'm waiting on my money to be refunded back on my card which has been over 24hrs and I was told it would be released immediately.

UHaul is a joke! I had scheduled to pick up at two different locations. The 1st was sending me 45 min out of the way to even pick up the truck and the 2nd on Ann Street no one was even there nor would they answer the phone. Once we found the location on Eastern Blvd through Google I had to pitch a fit to even get a truck. Then the rep booked it as in town rental rather than me returning the truck to my home town 92 miles away we had to return the truck back to Montgomery charging me an extra $70 for over mileage rate. This is RIDICULOUS!!!! I WILL NOT be using UHAUL again!!!

Better customer service while showing sensitivity and professionalism. I was charged for a dozen furniture pads, while giving six. I was charged $175 for equipment substitution for reason l don't understand. I returned the truck within 2 days of dispatch, but the account indicates a balance. In addition, it appeared that it took a uhaul representativ more than 4 hours to dispatch a truck to me. This experience was below average. My reservation was made May 22, 2019. The pickup was changed from you one location to another for reason not clear. When I called to confirm pickup at the 4243 Inn South Ave., Montgomery, AL, 8:00 A.M. I was told come at 11:00 A.M. instead. The experience was actually very poorly.

Not charge someone for another day because the person who checks in the vehicles decides to do their job late. If I'm there before time and they check it in 20mins after getting the keys why should I pay extra for it? Also send the receipts on time I noticed the extra charge from the bank then the receipt comes over 2hrs later.

1. I used a pick up truck before to haul a lot of dirt. This time - same thing- I hauled a load of dirt and This time I got charged a cleaning fee. Yes there was dirt in the bed of the truck - that’s why I need to borrow the truck (I told them what i needed the truck for and no one said a thing). First time - I told them same thing - guy says no issues -‘haul what you want. THATS WHY I RENTED THE TRUCK. AnyWay - person at store was not helpful at all. I tried to express check in - when I arrived and asked her if I could express check in - she said we don’t have express check in here. Very unhelpful from the start. FINALLY- when I received my receipt via email yesterday and sent and email questioning the charge —- NO REURN ANSWER YET. I called the store which I guessed transferred me to corporate - and I asked to speak to Mgr of store — person said they would have Mgr call me back. NO CALL BACK. SO-yeah-ID SAY YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER AND I WILL ALSO SNARE MY EXPERIENCE WIRH THEM. Besides the cleaning fee - UHAUL- you failed miserably in the communication and customer service piece. I’d paid the $25 if things were handled appropriately.

The person that checked me in was on his cell phone the entire time!!! He had his ears buds in so he forgot to give me my boxes and tape. After completing the reservation he gave me the keys and told me to find the truck outside!!!

Not to include the dolly unless the customer wants one. It was in my way and I had to move it off the truck and was charged for it. I had 2 moving dollies and my own dolly. I have not yet gotten my emailed receipt either. They did not check it in with me. I waited for them outside as the sign said too and had to go in. Once inside I was told to leave the key in the truck and I have not heard back from them since. No idea what my final bill is.

After funds were taken service afterwards was slow or nil. I waited 30 mins (+) to have their lock taken off storage I rented. Employees are pleasant.

Chris was very rude and not customer friendly at all. I am waiting to speak with the store manager, then corporate regarding my visit on 7-16-18. POOR SERVICE!!

This was the best plan for me moving and packing .Everyone I came in contact with from u-Haul was awesome.I usually drive 1.000 miles myself.But I cannot do because of my poor physical condition .

Well maintained facility. Needs to improve continuity of alarm system to avoid outages. Would definitely utilize them again.

Everything was fine except 2 payments made by us were lost by the employees and a lean was put on the unit. We had receipts of payment, but the checks never cleared. It was eventually cleared.
