Poor customer service we ask to explain how to work the dolly and they refuse and wanted to charge us 20$ for explaining when this was the first time using the U-Haul.plus one of the belts was broken if it wasn’t for us to notice they wouldn’t fix it terrible with custumers

The truck i rented had scratched plastic and a dent on the back when i rented the vehicle. I even took photos of the truck before we returned it bc i was concerned since we did not do a walk around inspection before renting. Within two hours of returning the uhaul, i was charged an additinal $220.80!!!! For DAMAGE I DID NOT DO! I rented this truck, drove a total of 39 miles. More than half of those miles were straight to my home. Where the truck SAT! FOR 5 HOURS until the lady came home from work @ 6pm so i could go pick up some boxes. Two weeks prior i rented a truck bc we moved from maryland to relocate to PA. TWO WEEKS ago a similar situation happen. Where i was billed an extra $50 for a cleaning fee. (Which i cleaned the vehicle thoroughly before returning as i did this time too) i had to disputed that charge and was refunded my money BY UHAUL once i demanded to see pictures. Because of that incident, i do not trust uhaul at all. And because of that incident when i seen the damage on the back of the truck while getting our load i told my husband to snap photos. Because i had a terrible feeling uhaul would accuse me of this damage. BECAUSE I WAS RIGHT! THEY DID EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT WOULD HAPPEN! UNBELIEVABLE! I seriously recommend everyone get the insurance bc God forbid u dont and the uhaul have a pre exisiting conditionS oR physical damage of any kind YOU WILL BE BILLED AND CHARGED! Its their way of taking advantage of you and making profits off something you had no control over. I will NEVER USE UHAUL AGAIN AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE AGAIN. ESPECIALLY IN THE STATE OF PA! I WILL BE DISPUTING THE CHARGES WITH MY BANK AND PLAN ON POSTING NEGATIVE REVIEWS EVERY DAY AS IF IT WERE MY JOB!

This 26' Uhaul was the worst Uhaul I have ever experienced. If you noticed, when I rented the exact same size a couple months ago, I declared it to be the best Uhaul I had ever driven. This one was definitely older, and in MAJOR need of repairs. What really angered me, was the manager at the Uhaul site I rented it from, which was the same one as before, had told me that it had just come back from it’s major check and corrections of any work needed. This one just barely made it from Murrysville, to York, PA. It was definitely beat up, and needed a major tune-up, and tires replaced. Even though the tread was OK, there seemed to have flat spots, or abnormal wear on all four tires. Going over 45 mph was like riding a bronco and I mean the horse not the truck. Or maybe an old Flintstone type vehicle. It was most definitely a dangerous vehicle to be on any road, let alone mostly the PA turnpike. We also got about ½ the mileage as supposedly same vehicle going from and to the same destination. It I hadn’t had to get to my destination because of the people waiting for me, I would have taken it straight to the closest Uhaul agent. I know Mr. Shoen would have been embarrassed to have seen and or driven this vehicle. I don’t understand how a company with a great CEO as Mr. Shoen, would declare this type of vehicle, and in it’s condition, as safe to the innocent public. Not to mention all the others on the road with these vehicles. And I could never understand how two similar type trucks, could be so completely different, especially when rented at the same Uhaul outlet. As it turned out, we were an hour late getting to our destination, had to stop and get more fuel, for a total of about $150 more gas on the same size truck, and going to the exact destination. I will keep my eye’s on the news, and listen for truck accidents, most particularly involving Uhaul trucks, and let the authorities know of our experience. I know Uhaul, and in particular Mr. Shoen would not ever purposely put dangerous vehicles like this one on the road. But they have to make certain, these vehicles are checked much closer from now on. I explained all of our problems to the young lady that we delivered your truck to at your York, PA, dealer. Employee must not have checked truck in when returned but he told me everything was good and nothing else was owed. Got a call about 30 hours later wanting to know when I was going to return truck. Go figure! Then got notice from credit card company that I was billed .43 for being one mile over the allowance for the rental but they didn't call about the additional charge. Really?!? This was my second dealing with this location in the last 3 weeks, first was great, second seems like they forgot how to deal with people.

your people that work for you who are not well informed they need to let you know the cash way if you pay or the credit card if you pay that way I had to reserve the truck was three or four times to get it right your people were not equipped with the knowledge that they need to know so it was a poor experience and I really hope and pray I don't have to deal with U-Haul ever again in life

When returning a smaller truck after hours with a dolly included, is the dolly suppose to be left in the truck because yes there is a drop-off box for the key but what does the customer do with the dolly, lock it in truck also?

My move was incredibly difficult but dealing with this facility was such a positive experience that I never plan on using anyone but U-Haul for both my truck and storage needs. Absolutely amazing!

You can think look at the information you are given related to the booking and match a vehicle to the booking based on that information. Use some basic common sense such as ensuring there is a full tank of gas and the oil is full. I felt that I was simply treated as a number with absolutely no indication that anyone at Uhaul cared about what my needs were and tried to match the right vehicle to suit those needs.

Contract stated 7/8 tank of gas. There was 3/4 when I got it. Took pic for proof, was still overcharged. Was billed for 2nd day when kid behind counter promised I wouldnt be. Claimed they werent "assholes" like that.

Drop off was supposed to be in Philadelphia. However the Uhaul location there closed at 7 and had no after-hours drop off. Naturally there was no safe place to park a vehicle with a trailer attached downtown. We ended up driving back to York that night instead of staying over in the city. Having an after-hours option, even if involved driving further, would be nice.

The manager Jake was rude and nasty. When I was asking about fees that were charged. He pretty much didn’t want to explain anything to me and told me to leave. I asked him what’s wrong with you? And he says you signed the contract and you need to leave. I said something was clearly wrong the way it was set up as the other gentleman that was helping me had identified that the miles may have been off and the other service center told me they could waive the late fee as I was 2 hours late due to movers being late to unload. Jake was nasty and didn’t want to even talk to me. I was never rude to either of the other workers there, a female and the other older gentleman that were trying to help originally but the system was having trouble. JAke spoke to me like I was a dog and I’ll never use them again.

Everything went smooth and was easy. I didn't even pull up to the correct area. Walked in and apologized for not getting it to the right drop off area, and said that I'm not used to driving the truck and did feel capable of backing it out of the spot that I pulled it into. Apologized again for not realizing I had to put the truck in a specific area to drop it off. The sales rep there asked me for the key and pulled it around for me. Was very nice. Had ice cold water there as well that helped my parched throat. I recommend this location to everyone. I haven't experienced any customer service that was this nice, professional and friendly anywhere else. :) Thank you so much.

I just think if you only need a van/truck for few hours or under 10 miles the price should be a little cheaper. I mean it wasnt expensive, but it could've been a little less since I only needed the van for 2 hours.. that's all. Other then that everything was perfect!

FYI-. I had reserved a truck through Budget for Saturday 6/1. On Friday 5/31 at 7:38 pm Budget called and said no truck was available despite making the reservation weeks in advance. UHaul was able to come through last minute where Budget failed.

If you give recommended instructions and amount in gallons to refuel the truck back to where it is supposed to be (the amount when you picked it up); and the customer follows the said instructions and amount but it goes over. Then the customer should be reimbursed. It is YOUR instructions on how much to add back to get it where it was at and yet when the amount is added the truck has way more than it’s supposed to. Unacceptable. You just got free gas and I wasted money following YOUR directions.

My car broke down and there was no way I could get back to the place I rented it from. I explained to the manager to please waive the fee because i cant safely get to that location and i was still charged a fee. Hes a horrible manager. I will never rent from this place again. I will rent from tractor supply.

The owner manager at Roosevelt location is a liar and charged us double when it was back when it was suppose to be the time they had on our receipt was very wrong I had to drop off my open trailer first which took at least a half hour then had to get back in line to pick up my enclosed trailer which he claimed that we were late then which was absolutely not true! We rent from here at least twice a month we will never again re t from uhaul!! Total asshole very rude to customers.

After getting a text message telling me to go to the red lion store which is an hour drive, I get there and they tell me that the trailer is at another store. So I back track an hour and finally get to the York store and it was the most confusing parking lot in the world. It seriously makes no sense. It’s a one way lot that is clearly marked with arrows and the pick up area, however there is no parking for customers. You Judy gotta pick a spot and park in a uhaul truck and hope it doesn’t need moved while you’re there. Then when I dropped off, I was asked to go “around back” to drop off the trailer. Well since the parking lot is one way and since you can only make a right hand turn out of the lot, that requires driving down the road searching for a spot to make a u turn with a trailer. Totally confusing. I will say the employees at the York store were 100% great. None of these issues were related to them.

I rented a pick up truck several weeks in advance. When I arrived the truck I was given was dirty inside and out and both seats were ripped. It had damage stuckers all over the body. I had to wait for someone to come out and clean the inside a bit but it still was not very nice.

Very helpful. When I called the switchboard I was told the unit I wanted was not available. When I got there they had the size trailer that I wanted and they changed the contract to reflect it.

We had reserved a utility dolly and it was not in the truck when my husband picked it up so I had to drive down to the place to get it and was told we would not have to pay for the charge and then they ended up charging us for it. So I would recommend better communication and check what people ordered.

I feel the representative should walk the person out to the truck after check in. There 3 employee's there at the time and the other two were just standung there with no customers. I did an on line check in so it would not take long once I arrived but I was there for 40 minutes due the fact that the computer kept freezing up. Ended up having to do a paper check in.

The trailer was clean but the wiring harness was damaged which during the trip shorted out and blew the fuses on my turn signals, four ways and brake lights. That made it very difficult navigating in traffic without having turn signals.

The e brake cable snapped in half and I had an incline to park on. The brakes were also dragging a tiny bit due to it being locked in place. While this was not at all the location's fault, as this particular fix cannot be remotely predicted, it did cause me a massive loss in time and I didn't get everything I needed done. I will still use u haul in the future for sure as this is simply a random event. Friendly customer service reps and easy check in and out.

The truck we got I think had its front suspension shot. The side of the truck advertises a smooth ride, but it definitely wasn’t. At first I thought maybe it’s just hard suspension meant for heavy loads, but after loading it up the ride did not improve. I had my pregnant wife with me as a passenger and I was legitimately concerned that she will go into early labor or my child will end up with brain damage. I did my best avoiding potholes and imperfections on the roadway but the largest truck isn’t exactly easy to maneuver. I wouldnt say the truck was old or has seen a lot of miles either as it wasn't anywhere near 200k yet on the odometer. Will definitely take this into consideration next time I rent from somewhere.

I cant understand why your vehicles are not fueled (with a full tank) when I pick them up. With rental cars they are always full and we return them full. I always feel like I am spending more on fuel (returning with more than I got.) Maybe that is your strategy. It's the only thing I don't like about renting your equipment

The windows to the truck I was getting were open and it was raining, so the seat, door, and part of the dashboard on both sides of the truck were extremely wet. I elected to use the application to get the truck, which did not work for checking in and when uploading my pre-check of the truck. Thankfully, the store was open and able to help me, otherwise I would have been stuck. The staff were very friendly and the truck worked well.

Storage unit was very clean. Well lit. They supply a Dolly to move your possessions from door to storage unit. I like that they had dehumidifiers operating.
