MARIAN EThe two workers were slammed. I waited 50 mins to pick up my rental and I arrived before the scheduled pickup time. The employees were friendly. I was very disappointed with U Haul changing my pick up location twice and creating scheduling issues that I had to rectify with movers and take off additional time from work. If you are going to let folks pick a place and time, honor it.

Heather PI had made reservations at a DIFFERENT U-Haul location, but it was a lock-box location and the owner was unresponsive and could not get me the access that I needed. At that point, the U-Haul app was not functioning properly. I spent more than an hour-and-a-half trying to figure things out when I called the 14861 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA location. I spoke to Chris, who expressed incredible empathy and understanding - one of the best customer service experiences I have had with any business. Chris and her manager established a reservation for me while I was driving toward their location, and when I arrived, the whole team gave me the red carpet treatment and had a clean, serviced truck ready and waiting for me. It was as though they were making right for something THEY had done wrong, but they had nothing at all to do with the App's performance or the other location's failure. I will only use this U-Haul location from now on.
Howard HThe representative who checks the equipment was rude. She had us sitting in the truck and did not approach. Even though the sign asks you to sit in the vehicle until someone comes. She explained “everyone gets out”. So why just sit there and discuss with another rep instead of doing what the sign reads? Please have mature adults working for U-Haul. That was uncalled for.

Erika CThe only issue I had was with the truck, the steering was very loose. The truck tended to drift to far when changing lanes. Also the front end suspension was awful, we felt ever bump in the road for 1600 miles. I understand that we don’t get the top of the line trucks for one-way trips, but this truck needs some serious attention on the front end.

JAMES HI reserved and paid for 10x packing blankets. None were avail when I arrived at 0745. Mgr told me that blankets and dolly’s were first come first serve. All had been taken by moving companies. Not pleased as I could have made alternative arrangements.
Kevin HWe had a lot of rain we were traveling in while having the trailer and our trailer rental leaked on a new couch I brought back and it left black wet marks on my couch in several places that I can’t get out! I’m due a refund and need to find out whst I can do to get a remedy

Jane BRouting needs to have equipment available in Gloucester County. Driving 25 miles each way to rent a cargo van for Mothers Day floral deliveries is rediculous. Time consuming and costly. Cory in Corporate sales is aware of this issue. I expect resolution before Valentine's Day rental in 2027. Smith's Florist and Gift Shoppe has been renting 2 vans for 2 days for both these holidays for many years and deserves better customer experience. Michael Richardson

Called 800 number complaints taken to the top I Should not have to let air out of my tire to get my car off 2 wheel tow dolly. Broken tie Down. The only thing that’s there on a 2 wheel tow dolly

CALVIN TDidn't have room for me to store my stuff so they put everything into a metal closet at $65 a month. That seems pretty high for a small metal closet

THOMAS KAll Uhaul stores should be like this one. I was skeptical about renting another Uhaul truck ever! The last few times have been awful. I must say that this store on Warwick Blvd in Newport News was outstanding! If ever I need to rent again I will go to this store only!!!

Sherita HIt’s supposed to be a drive up facility and I was told by the woman at the office that “no, we cannot move our trucks. You see how packed it is. Driving up means you can park in our parking lot.” I couldn’t even access the unit itself because a truck was blocking it. This was probably 90% of the time. Luckily, one of the guys that worked there said they would move it. Do not let them give you an end unit. Ask for one in the middle where the chances of it being blocked are slimmer

Joseph S | Overall ExperienceOur storage unit was broken into and items stolen. I declined insurance coverage because I have renters insurance, which is fine. When the police came to file a report the store employee said they did not have video surveillance of that area and it was on us because I declined insurance. I don't understand how this lack of video surveillance could be a known issue and not addressed.
