The most crucial thing that U-Haul can improve on is providing moving trucks that actually are functional for its customers AND improving the way that they handle customer complaints. On Saturday, when attempting to move furniture from a storage unit to my home, I drove approximately 2 miles down the road to Extra Space Storage having hired 2 movers at $25/hour and when it was time to start the truck back up, the battery was completely dead. After dealing with U-Haul over the phone for approximately 45 minutes, Roadside Assistance finally showed up 15 minutes later. This resulted in an hour of extra time that I had to wait for Roadside Assistance before being able to continue moving and an additional $50 that I had to pay out of pocket for the movers that I hired. Roadside Assistance jumped the battery. Roadside Assistance refused to replace the battery and advised me that there were no guarantees that the truck would start up again once I reached my destination. As a result, I had to keep the truck on while having the movers unload my truck at my final destination. Upon returning to the U-Haul store off of Warwick Boulevard, I was advised that despite corporate providing me with a Reference Number over the phone in which I could be compensated for my losses and inconvenience, the U-Haul representative had no record of this; just that the truck broke down. The only "discount" offered to me for the major inconvenience was a measly $9 discount off of the truck rental price which is a drop in the bucket compared to the $50 lost, the hour wasted waiting on U-Haul's Roadside Assistance, and the major inconvenience for what was supposed to be a very quick move. After calling corporate again later during that day in order to express my dissatisfaction with my experience with U-Haul and the gross misrepresentations made over the phone, I was reassured that U-Haul would look into the matter and compensate me for my losses and inconvenience. Approximately 72 hours later, I spoke with a representative at the Warwick Boulevard location who claimed that they already compensated me sufficiently and FOR THE FIRST TIME, advised me that I needed a receipt to even be considered for receiving the $50 compensation that I lost for the extra hour of work that I had to pay the movers. If advised on the day of the move, I could have easily obtained a receipt from the laborers, who are veterans that I hired. At this point, I probably will not be able to secure the documentation necessary to even be "considered" for the compensation that I deserve after U-Haul's poor mismanagement of their vehicles and this situation. As a result of this horrendous experience with U-Haul, I do not anticipate relying on U-Haul again in the future and will share my experiences with everyone that I know who is looking for moving furniture or their entire households on a budget. Words cannot overstate my disappointment in U-Haul. At a minimum, U-Haul should have reimbursed me for the

Chris, the owner, was very helpful - really nice fellow - had us checked in and on our way in about 5 minutes. Great location for pickup or drop-off. Right on Warwick Blvd and very convenient to anyone in the northern Tidewater area around Hampton, Newport News or Williamsburg. Highly recommended for any U-Haul rentals.

I reserved a 15' truck for my use, but when I arrived at the store I had been upgraded to a 17' for the same price, but it was a truck for sale so it wasn't up to par as the others visually but did the job. Not complaining just explaining the rating. I have always used U-Haul and will continue in the future.

If you are going to put a price on your truck...actually charge that price. Don't say that then add milage and stuff like that. It's like charging 19.99 to just look at the truck. You should just put 40 for 4 hours.
