I recently rented a truck and then a trailer a couple days later. As far as the trucks, I think it would be easier to have the trucks full of fuel and have each customer top off the fuel when returning or have staff top off and charge the customer for the fuel needed. That way the customer doesn't have to fuel up first thing and then try to match the starting fuel level when returning. But I'm sure there is a good reason for the doing things the way they are currently being done, and bottom line is that this is not a deal breaker to prevent me from renting equipment here again. Overall though my experiences were very positive at the Coralville store. Staff was friendly and helpful during both of my visits and equipment was in very good condition. And that is very impressive considering the amount of use (and I'm sure abuse) they receive. I feel the rental rates are very fair as well. Keep up the good work!

Uhaul trucked leaked water and ruined boxes. Even had the insurance, but there clause was not covering water damage

The general manager, Gabriel, is not friendly. We've worked with him before, and he wasn't pleasant then either. The assistant, Ahmed, was kind and helpful. The trailer was buried and covered in snow. (Driving on the highways with a foot of snow blowing off the trailer creates a driving hazard.) Although the tires looked new, which was appreciated, considering the winter road travel. Ahmed helped with the hookup; however, the light connection to the trailer was frozen and would not connect to our vehicle. We had to purchase a connector ($15) even though our truck wasn't the cause of the issue. Why not include these in the rental agreement and return them as part of the contract?

Rented us a van until January and then called requiring us to return it early. They followed-up with a call engaging the owner in an unprofessional manner demanding why the van could not be returned. We are a delivery company in the middle of our busiest time. Returning the van not only was problematic to our overall operations but also cost our company labor hours to bring it back early. In addition,, I believe we were charged an extra day when you should have been paying us for the labor to bring it back early due to your mistake. Some customer service......We will spread the word to the rest of the businesses who operate in our business not to rent from your store!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Give military discount ,I asked for a military discount but he said no. That's not good at all for such a long journey.I rented for 9 days without a military discount, please send that back.

Only issue i had was, it wasn't pointed out that the trailers drivers side fender could be laid down. So i had to crawl through the vehicle to get out the back. Which is not easy for a 6'2" big man!!! I had tried calling to ask why they told me this trailer would work for my auto. While waiting 10min on hold, for someone to even.pick up... i noticed the rubber t handle in my mirror than i looked closer andbseen that there was what looked like a hinge on the fender. So i hung up and looked closer at my next gas stop. So i would say...TELL EVERYONE renting these car trailers that the fender does this or put a big ass sticker on it showing that it lays down so you can open the car door!!! This is the second time ive rented one of these trailers the other place did not tell me this either!!! So twice ive had to crawl through a dang tight small car!!! The guy was nice and friendly, got me all hooked up and ready to roll pretty quick. Just wish id been told about that damn fender!!!

I made a reservation for a small utility trailer to be used to haul a new roll around tool cabinet from Lowe's, which was only a mile away. I was in and out, ready to go, in about 15 minutes. I picked up the tool cabinet, took it home, and returned the trailer less than an hour later. Everything went flawlessly.

The store manager went above and beyond good customer service. When it was time to hook up the power cord, the only thing in the spare tire well was an extension cord. I had extensive body work to repair damage from a fallen tree. They left the power cord inside the 1/4 panel. The manager took apart the trim and found the missing cord in less than 5 minutes. I love Coralville U Haul.

Take the truck I rented out of service. It blew smoke when I first stated it. Very loud. bad muffler and sounded like exhaust leak close to engine. Loose steering. door air leaks. Just very loud and rough and rattley when driving.

It was fine, employees seemed to not really care if I was there or not. Also received the truck without a full tank and then was shaken down about the 15 miles worth of gas that I used. I get it everyone is trying to earn a lil money but forreal 9 extra bucks??? Congrats you win I’ll pay it but felt like I was shaken down, not a fan and not cool

The team member that helped me had “Owner” on the name badge. Delivered a very unprofessional experience. Elects to where sunglasses indoor and during the entire exchange, which seemed irregular as low light as it was in the building. Was looking to help accommodate pick-up and coordination. Put forth zero effort to try and make something work. Seemed very petty for as low as the expectations where. When talking about the process, he stated that when an employee doesn’t do something, they are fired on the spot. This was said while another employee was at the counter, and seemed very out of place and heavy handed. Very immature management thing to say and share in front of customers, and just as a management practice in general. The other team member seemed like a nice person when I interacted with her, and I felt bad to have to work with a manger or “owner” like this individual was. Could benefit from an emotional intelligence course and other management coaching I am sure.

The truck was nice and clean and check in / out was nice and easy. Very good experience overall. The check engine light was on but the employee I mentioned it to set the truck had a slow exhaust leak and the light could be ignored. The truck still ran fine. Also, the low tire pressure light came on a couple times, but the tires all looked fine.
