Then , the kicker , i was charged for extra miles! Well yes I drove an extra 20 miles to pick it up to begin with! My decision next time might be back to Penske.
Andrew LEither there trucks burn a gallon of gas per every 3 miles. Or they do not accurately track gas consumption. Charged $25.50 for supposedly using over 6 gallons of gas. Traveled according to their records 20 miles total. Never left truck just running.

DOUGLAS GI had a reservation to pick up an auto transport in Devils Lake, North Dakota, which I had done a number of times prior. Two days before my pick up, they let the transport go to Texas. I was left scrambling trying to find another transport with the options to go to Canada, Wahpeton 240 miles away.. Then it was explained to me that you mean U-Haul. well, let me know within 24 hours whether or not there’s one available. Even though I thought I was locked in, I was not! You should change your fur beach and definitely let people know that there is no guarantee!!!!!! so you did not uphold your commitment to me and I am extremely unhappy with the way that I was treated. I felt like I was blindsided. Like somebody threw me a left curve. that left me stranded.

OLUSEGUN TI only rent cargo vans so cleanliness is not a top priority for the cargo space. Despite that the vans are always clean. Maybe just washing the inside of the front windshield but that’s being pretty nitpicky. I really like the crew at the grand Forks location.

RONALD JLiterally proved to the staff the mileage that I put on the truck both by GPS and a picture of the odometer I had on my phone. The app on my phone was saying I put on 140 miles. My picture showed roughly 106 miles. The UHaul rep working advised I had put on 110 miles. Double check your outgoing miles and take up any discrepancy not in your favor with the staff before leaving. The app didn't store pictures and didn't work when I was checking out. And was inaccurate when checking in.

ENRIQUE RI made a reservation well in advance for a 20-foot truck with a platform trailer. I was quoted $1,500 CAD. As the pickup date approached, I suddenly got a call saying the truck and trailer I reserved were not available. The “nearest option” was two days away in the U.S., in Grand Forks. Management promised me discounts on fuel and other fees to make up for the inconvenience, so I agreed. At the Grand Forks location, I was told the price was $1,599 CAD. I specifically asked if this was Canadian dollars and was told yes. I paid and left, only to later discover in my online banking that I was actually charged $1,599 USD — over $2,200 CAD. This meant I lost not only extra money but also five hours of travel time, plus the cost of additional gasoline. When I contacted management, they refused to refund me and simply said “because it’s in the U.S. you have to pay in U.S. dollars.” This is dishonest and completely unfair, especially since I was assured it was a Canadian charge. The truck itself was fine — clean and reliable. But the management practices are unprofessional, misleading, and downright dishonest. I would strongly warn others to be careful with U-Haul, especially regarding reservations and billing.
