LAFAYETTE LOutstanding Customer Service I experienced exceptional service during my visit. The young lady working at the front desk was outstanding. Despite being the only associate on duty during a very busy morning shift, she remained calm, professional, and attentive, providing excellent customer service throughout. Her dedication, efficiency, and positive attitude were truly commendable. She handled a demanding workload with grace and maintained a welcoming demeanor at all times. Associates like her deserve recognition and support from management. When employees demonstrate this level of commitment and professionalism, it is essential that their efforts are acknowledged. MARTIN BI made a reservation days in advance of my move. I had reserved two dozen furniture pads. When I picked up my truck I was told “oh yeah, we only have six pads” - six individual pads. No explanation. No offer to find a solution. What’s the point of reserving equipment if it’s not going to be there when you need it? Made the move more difficult than need be. Very disappointed and not what I’ve come to expect from U-haul.

TIMOTHY PThe man who checked me in was so unhelpful. I’m older and needed some help and he didn’t even offer basic information. I was totally unimpressed. He was talking to another customer about wrestling while I was standing there confused. Everyone else was much more friendly, especially when I returned the truck.

Arthur SI returned the truck after hours with the tank a little under full and was unable to take a photo of the odometer because my father put the keys in the drop box. When I received my receipt the next day it stated it was empty and charged me for the gas. Dishonest and terrible service
CARINA CA hispanic guy that was outside helping a girl with a broke down car wasn't able to check the truck out before renting it to me however it was dirty with footprints of mud. I didn't mind because it wasn't a big deal and everything I had was boxed anyway so I left. I did not get a link to take picture of the check in or out until after I returned the vehicle however upon check in, the black guy checking it in tried to charge me for it not being clean. Not once was I ever near mud nor was it even my mess. I used the truck to pick up brand new boxed furniture from Nader's warehouse, no mud anywhere. That guy was being a total idiot however I checked it in and left. This would have been avoided if people came happy to work and cleaned the vehicles! Never again!

HECTOR AI rent from U-haul on a monthly basis, this is the thrid time I have rented a truck that had leaks from the cargo roof. It was raining on the weekend (11/15) of rental. Because inside of cargo was wet, before leaving Uhaul lot, I specifically ask the clerk if roof of truck had a leak? He said no, the floor was wet, cause the truck was recently mopped. By the time I arrive home, I realized there was definitely a leak coming from left corner by cargo light. I tried duck-taping the leak without success. Needless to say, during haul, my cardboard box were damaged. I definitely expected better truck maintenance from Uhaul. I feel all trucks should be constantly checked for leaks & other issues. I am finding with Uhaul this isn't always practiced.
MARCO IThe guy doing my checkout was eating a slice of old pizza while checking me in. No customer service skills and sounded like he hates his job. Vehicle had a cigarette butt and cigarette ashes all over it, an eaten bag of chips, and an empty box of candy.

COLEANER BThe type of dolly I had reserved (appliance dolly) was not there, and there was uncertainty around whether or not there were even the blankets I reserved, much less the actual quantity. Ultimately, they did have the blankets, but not the dolly.

JOSE CI reserved my equipment weeks in advance for pickup in LA and was called the afternoon before pickup to tell me that the equipment would need to be picked up in Long Beach instead. So much for the commitment that the equipment you order will be ready where and when you order. This added a big hassle to my arrangements.
TRACI LThe Long Beach branch was wonderful. I had some issues with the truck. It had some electrical problems, and both the clerks came to help me and got me on my way as quickly as possible. I really appreciate them. They even stayed past their scheduled time to make sure I was OK when I arrived in Vegas. Dropping off the trailer was clean, and it was almost like I was never there. It was really quick. I appreciate everything you guys do.

JOSHUA KI had reserved a cargo van online through the U-Haul app. I went to pick it up at a different U-Haul. The person was rude, told me they did not have the van, and sent me to another location. He made me feel like I was such a burden! When I got to this location (1600 E. PCH) both the employees were great! Clifford ended up helping me and was wonderful. He was full of positivity, laughs and just wanted to resolve my problems. I ended up with a 15' truck (that's all they had) but it was worth the little bit of extra cash just to be treated right. I will be seeing Clifford anytime I need a rental. Please give that man a raise - he is helping people the right way!!

JOSE AI was told on the phone by an agent that a reservation for an appliance dolly was not necessary and that I should just show up the next morning at my location and they would have an abundance of dolly's. I was fortunate to have been able to rent the last remaining dolly available and was told that I should have made a reservation by the service agent at the location. The people at the location were great and knowledgeable, the phone operator not so much.
Richard SI reviewed my receipt after renting a truck yesterday and noticed the mileage usage was stated about 21 miles over my actual usage. I rented the truck to move my large sofas to EDCO dump in anticipation of delivery of new sofas today. My route entailed from the Uhaul location to my home (0.8mi), my home to EDCO location (2.6mi), and EDCO to home (2.6mi), and home to UHaul location (0.8mi), Total Mileage should be roughly 7 miles. The manager even commented on my return how quickly I brought the truck back. After discovering the error, I called the customer service number, they then connected me to the store manager, who barely took a moment to review my receipt, and did not even bother to hear me out. She only asked if I took pictures of the mileage, after saying no, she dismissed my concerns.

I found him to be dismissive , and he initially told me there were ok rental vans available until I showed him my reservation. Overall, he need a refresher in service, unless you don’t mind him being the face of your brand.
