This location is not customer friendly the vehicle I was forced to rent $29.99 vehicle in size that I didn't need, costing me more than my budget allowed. Convenient I couldn't rent the vehicle in the size I needed 10 ft or smaller cargo van or pickup truck or a small box truck, with my NetSpend MasterCard credit card. but you will allow me to rent a bigger truck that cost more money with the same card. sounds like a scam to me, so I have to let you know to make it better decrease your rates allow people more options for rental purposes and if you would charge me the rates and fees for a dirty vehicle being returned U-Haul should be willing to deduct those fees from my bill, for giving me a dirty vehicle to leave with. The vehicle I was given had marijuana scraps in the ashtray empty beverage containers in cab of vehicle. so now I'm not happy with my business I received from U-Haul and no I would never recommend anyone to U-haul you can check my personal records I've used U-haul quite a few times up to this point.. I honestly can't tell you if you will be my first choice on my next move that would totally rely on U-Haul your family depends on in their consideration to my comments

There was some trash/items left in the vehicle from the previous customer. I hope I won’t be charged for leaving anything behind because it didn’t belong to me. The vehicle also needed routine maintenance, such as air in the tires and windshield wiper fluid.

This was not the location I was told to drop off at. That location (the Gulf Express at 255 Reservoir Ave) refused to accept the keys and truck when I went to drop it off. I had to call UHaul customer service to have my drop-off location switched. This new location declined to look over the truck with me and then tried to charge me for "damage" on the top of the truck which, if it existed, had befallen the truck before I picked it up.

We dropped the truck off on the same day we picked it up. Picked up at 12pm and dropped off at 530 pm. We handed the keys to the guys at the counter. They didnt check the truck, they didnt give us a receipt. We walked away thinking everything was all set because they told us we were all set. Next thing i know, i get a receipt in my email the next day with extra charges for gas and the wrong drop off time! We got charged an extra day and for gas!!!!!!! Your service desk people did not record that we dropped off the truck on the 13th, they said we didn't drop it off until the next day which is a lie! Not only that but we made sure that there was exactly the same amount of gas in it as when we picked it up. I have pictures for proof and everything. This location is a joke. They should have checked all this info and checked the vehicle back in before we left the store!! Because of their mistake money was TAKEN out of my card that i desperately needed for my 5 yr olds medicine and i didn't get it back for 4 days. I am so upset with uhaul, i will never be using you again. You need to train ALL OF YOUR WORKERS.

The agent who checked me in was the extremely kind. I had become ill after renting the truck and loading it with my household possessions. This required me to extend my contract twice and when he told me the additional charges it seemed incorrect but was really my misunderstanding. I was quite certain that the agent told me return by 5 Pm but it should have been by noon. Nonetheless he deducted one rental day from the contract. It was a great decision because of the customer good will snd customer loyalty that was built by giving me the benefit of the doubt

The agents and manager were extremely incompetent. They didn't explain the rates properly (and tried to over-charge me afterward) and didn't know how to use their own computer system.

I called and asked for a truck that I could take a boat out of the water, I stated in the conversation that I needed a 4 wheel drive, we have one available for 10/10, I said great, and I said again, is it 4 wheel drive. When I showed up I asked the question again and two separate people told me it was 4 wheel drive.....I got to a packed boat launch and could not get the boats out of the water because it was 2 wheel drive.......I didn't use the truck, brought it back this morning and you charged me for a truck that I didn't use.....I am extremely disappointed in the lack of knowledge that your people have!

more professionalism needed. this is a job that requires interaction with customer not with a cellphone...... people on line and the person behind the counter texting and not acknowledging.... that is sad and bad for business....... also not knowing how to handle customers complaint...... I drove up, the guy asked for the keys and said thanks; that was it. No inspection while I was there. No interaction, just hand me the keys and have a nice day. Now I see a charge on my credit card for $74.90 and I have no idea why. I swept it out, left more gas in it than they way I received it. It was only 1/2 full when I got the truck. More accurate gas readings. Contract said 7/8 full, actual was 3/4. I filled to 3/4 and got charged $26 for the difference. Next time, a quick walk through of the truck and the features and a matching of the paperwork gas gauge to the actual truck would be appreciated.

The rental agent was great and professional. He told me to bring it back at half because thats where it was but the contract was marked at the next 8th. Upon return I tried to explain to a different guy it was a mix up. Finally I said keep the extra $10.00 because it would cost me that in mileage and gas added anyway. I have some projects that I will be doing over the next 5 weekends and look to employ some other options like ryder or home depot. I hope the extra 10 bucks was worth it.

But the young men running this operation were attentive to their customers and when they needed help the manager was right there to show them what to do. They were all smiling which is not the norm in a retail operation. So they deserve 5 star status.

This location was great, but we actually were supposed to collect the equipment at 483 Broad St, Americas Food Basket location. There the equipment was not available despite having been guaranteed by a U-Haul representative the day before. And we are still waiting for a call back regarding the $50 refund for the unkept reservation guarantee. Terrible service!

I called this afternoon because my mother needed to retrieve something from my storage unit 3453 and they told her that she wasn't an authorized account holder. When I signed my contract no one told me that I had to have another person on my account just and emergency contact. She had my credit card key to access the garage and she called me here at work and I have been on the phone with her for an hour just to make up and account and receive messages on my phone just to have an employee ask me if it was ok for her to enter my unit!! As I stated I am at work, it was a waste of my time and I feel this location in Pawtucket, RI was very unprofessional and the employee there seemed liked they had no clue what their job description was. Please make sure that when someone is renting from you in the future that they ask for additional people on the list instead of just the emergency contact. Thank You, Destiny Robertson

Overall terrible experience. Moved pickup location, double booked it in 2 places so while in the middle of a move had to call to cancel 1, received text almost 48 hours after it was returned saying it wasn't returned, the phone number they gave to call was missing a digit, on hold for 35 minutes before anyone answered to try to straighten it out! Awful! Next time Budget!

The 17' box truck I rented EQ# EL1356B did not match up with my green rental tag EQ# DC 5228K. I rented this truck at 6PM on Tuesday the 24TH of July and at the time i only thought that there was a 1/4 of a tank fuel discrepancy. When I checked the mileage, the truck I was issued EQ# DC 5228K was at 92K miles and the tank was at 1/4 of a tank. My equipment contract called out a truck at 151227.6 miles at 1/2 a tank of gas. Since at this point it was after 7PM an UHAUL was closed for the evening' there was very little i could do about it. I moved my friend from Providence to Pawtucket and returned the truck from Pawtucket to Providence in one trip. When I returned the truck i was informed that I was being charged for 48 miles of travel. Considering the distance from Providence to Pawtucket this is patently impossible. When i made my aggrievement known I was informed that i would be receiving a call from UHAUL within the next 24hrs. I am still waiting for a call .

I had reservations for Cranston and I had to go to Providence to pick up which wasn't the problem. I arrive at 7:15 am I give my bankcard. The uhaul employee says that i need to call someone to verify your bringing it back!! I have never had this happen before. My 75 yr old mother is outside in the car waiting(moving her to senior housing) and is hard of hearing. I give her # she doesn't answer because cant hear it. He says I cant give the truck without someone on other end of phone!! Are you kidding me. Its reserved, you have my bankcard. Well I need to know your bringing it back. I'm 49, self employed since I was 16, I'm not a kid. He says well I need to speak to someone or your not getting it!!! He calls my wife she doesnt answer, my brother doesnt answer. I ask him if I can go outside and tell her to pick up the phone and he said NO! I I'm not giving you a truck unless I talk to someone I said SHE IS OUTSIDE!!!!! she CAN'T HEAR THE PHONE ... I dont care! I ended up giving a #to my nephew and he answered. I then tell him I didnt want the insurance because I am covered under my business I have $1,500,000 coverage and he gave me a hard time about that. Said if there is a scratch on it I have to pay out our pocket immediatelywhen dropped off!! I ordered and paid for an appliance Dolley. I get to the house and NO DOLLEY! I dont know if he did this on purpose or not. I returned the truck at 3pm because he said I would be charged more after that and when I mentioned to him I thought it was for the day he said no. I mentioned the the other man when I brought it back about what happened and he said he never heard of that happening before(phone calls) and credited me for dolley which we had to move appliances up stairs by hand. He was very nice and apologetic. This should have never happened.

Care should be taken to issue the correct invoice. Fuel usage must be correlated to the number of miles driven before customer is charged with not having purchased fuel when gauge is not an accurate indication of the amount of fuel the client purchased to satisfy the fuel return requirements.

Unfortunately the person was very rude. The location was disorganized and the person in charge yelled at us and wanted us to drive our car over a curb and back up alongside many other cars with the uhaul still attached. It took over 15 minutes to get the Uhaul unattached. In addition, they didn’t check in the vehicle, and we got a message from Uhaul that it hadn’t been returned, so we had to call Uhaul customer service and spend time sorting that out, as we had in fact turned it in a day early.

Before driving away after pick up I noticed a mis match on the odometer vs the paper work and advised one the employees who said it would be changed. Unfortunately it wasn't changed and I was charged the higher miles. The person at the store I spoke with left a note on the account saying the manager would call me to address the issue - well 3 weeks later no resolution. I'm wondering whether I should use uhaul again - I'm disappointed this was not addressed on the spot.

The online reservation system would not allow us to add days to our u-haul reservation, so we had to talk to a person to get our reservation right and had to talk to a representative again when we changed the pick-up date. The online reservation system could have taken care of everything if it were a bit more flexible. Other than that, our u-haul experience was excellent.

I had my reservation, when I arrived to pick up my truck the guy at the counter told me is not reservation made. I show him my confirmation number and my email. He said no, is not valid. I said what?! How come if is my confirmation number and email confirmation from uhaul. He said that doesn’t warranty they will have a truck for me! He was sending me to another location like 20 miles away. I told him no! I’m not going anywhere because I made my reservation here and I have my confirmation number. He told me nothing he can do. He give me a truck and I had to returned in 2 hours when I reserved for 24 hours and I have my reservation proof for 24 hours. This guy Have cero customer service and very rude. I wouldn’t recommend uhaul to any of my friends and I will make sure to report this incident to BBB and everywhere I can.

When they say there’s a drop box outside they should show the customer where it is. I spent about 20 minutes looking for it and was on hold with customer service for 30 minutes. Ended up having to bring the keys home with me because of it. Now I have to make a trip to drop them off in the morning. Unacceptable.

The truck itself was questionable and started to smell like smoke when loaded and towing (not anywhere near the weight maximum). The staff was not friendly, at least not to me. When asked how he was, one employee responded, "Terrible". Upon returning the truck, I was told to leave and was not present for any of the return process. Wouldn't go back, pretty rough first experience.....

We had two vans reserved and only one was available. So we were offered a pick up truck and accepted. This was smaller and we had to stop back at the office mid day to unload then head back out to pick up the rest. I was the coordinator with the credit card, speaking English, and once my co-worker spoke Spanish, he never acknowledged me again as he only spoke to her in Spanish and I was pretty much disregarded after that.

Make sure the attic part of the truck and the cup holders in the cab are cleaned. They were both very dirty in the truck we picked up. Also, plan for your move to take longer than you expect – we planned carefully and ours took longer than we expected.

To all the people who are thinking renting a truck from this location , be careful how you receive the truck and how you return it , they will charge to your credit card for gas even if you Pump gas before return it , they will charge you after , not matter what , not fear , they suppose to call me but never did , bad customer service

I was very disappointed when I made should the vehicle I rented had gas and filled it only to find out If a customer fill up the vehicle they rented that’s your lost... One should be given credit or so sort.

The driver side mirror was cracked into tiny pieces. When I pointed it out I was told that it was known to them but still safe. I drove the cargo van on the highway and it was completely unsafe and would never have passed an inspection. I was unable to use that side mirror and had to guess when to move into the left lane on the highway.

The person dealing with the check-out of the truck was quite incompetent. The truck itself was in poor condition -- especially the tires and the windshield wipers. At drop-off, the drop box for contract and key seems to have been pried open at some point and provided a less than secure way of returning the vehicle.

Slow wait at counter, van still had previous customers items left in the back, gas level was at empty when it was supposed to be at 1/4. When returning vehicle no one came out to complete my return and it was during business hours. After 10 min of waiting I completed my own return online. I only had the van one hour, drove 15 miles and it cost me $45 plus $15 for gas because it wasn’t recorded correctly

The gentleman who was taking my order acted bored. He then gave the wrong key to the gentleman who was retrieving the trucks. Then he pit the wrong return day on my contract. As I had also already bothered the other gentleman for every problem, which he responded to kindly but confused and confessed he was new, I did not inform to the bored gentleman that he had also gotten the gas wrong which required me to fill more than I needed to upon returning the vehicle. When I informed the bored gentleman of the gas mistake the next day in an attempt to avoid it for the next customer, not to get reimburse, the gentleman blamed it on the new guy saying HE grabbed the wrong keys which I clearly saw him HAND the keys to the new guy. So that did not sit well that he was trying to pawn it off on the new guy. (I understand being bored, however, when boredom starts effecting customer service,it's no longer acceptable).

Not book a 24hr reservation over the phobe, but in all reality book something totally different because there were not enough trucks. So instead of the quoted price of 94$, I ended up paying 50$ more. Total 140.00. I rent a Uhaul almost monthly with my corperate account. I was forced into the timeline as i needed to complete this project. Not happy overall.

My reservation was for 6pm, and when I arrived there was one very slow person on one computer with 3 others in line. I got out 45 minutes later and was late for the movers. They were also very rude. It was a poorly run business.
