I reserved a van for pick up on September 9th. Upon arrival I was told that the gasoline on the vans were siphoned the night prior. The first van given to me was empty so the front desk asked me to return it full. I said nope I don't work here. I was then given a different van that I was told has half a tank. I agreed and grabbed the van because I was in a hurry. When I got in the van the gas was at a quarter tank and the back of the van had puddles of Indian food residue all over the floor. I don't have time to complain on site so I left. I returned the van at a quarter tank and was charged for a half tank. Please reach out for a refund of some kind.

My experience was mixed. Originally, when my husband went to pick up the rental, after driving 2 hours, the reservation was canceled by someone in the office. Had my husband been a little later, the truck reserved would have been taken by someone else. I was able to extend my rental easily as I ended up sick and couldn't return it on time. When I went to return the truck, I found that my car had been vandalized. 2 of the windows broken. I guess these things happen, but I won't be trusting this location again. It's just a bummer to have to deal with this after a long move. The staff was helpful in getting the window taped up for my drive.

The process of 'walk to lock box to begin check-out, then 'walk to truck area to verify truck' then 'walk back to lock box to retrieve key' seems needlessly convoluted.

Better program for gas reimbursement. If the vehicle is returned with more fuel than when it was rented the customer should be reimbursed for the difference. An alternative would be to have all equipment fully fueled when initially rented.

I had reserved for pickup in the Bay Area, but U-Haul made me to pick up the truck in Rancho Cordova which is shocking and insane. I had to drive +100 miles……..

Had some confusion with my rental at the beginning. Only 2 gentleman working on a busy Saturday. They were professional, and very efficient as they worked to get everyone waiting in line out the door quickly. Site appeared to have a good selection of vehicles and trailers. Easy in and out.

Only 6 of 12 furniture pads were available, & only hand truck without dolly were available on prepaid reservation. Minor disappointment. Otherwise got an excellent checkout on operating & inspecting the truck. Very good rental agent. Truck performed well & got better than advertised mileage. Easy to drive. This rental was great, & also a good value.

Took an hour to get the truck putting me behind due to agent inexperience. Truck was dirty and shook badly over 60 mph Truck was delivered with an empty gas tank forcing me to go directly to a gas station putting me further behind. Was told I would get a fuel credit due to the empty tank at pickup. I didn't get one.

The manager in place was making weird comments the moment i walked in. The person working the yard kept coming in and interrupting our transaction. It took me almost an hour to finally get the truck and get out their due to the constant weird comments and interruptions when I was the only customer there. I drove the truck a total of 59 miles and put over 50 dollars worth of gas (10 Gallons ) in the vehicle at the shell gas station next to the location right before I returned it. When I checked the vehicle in at the very end of the day, the gentlemen said I could just leave it there and he would finish the check in for me. In doing so, they reported that I didn't fill it back up and charged me an additional $67 for gas!!!!!! This is by far one of the worst transactions I have ever had with UHAUL. I called to explain this to UHUAL directly at 7AM the next day and they said they already rented the truck out and needed bank statements to verify put gas in. This is the last thing I needed after moving my whole house. Horrible experience!

When we went to pick up the equipment we just so happened to get on the conversation of the most common issues with Uhauls with the worker giving us the truck. He said that tweakers all always stealing gas and catch themselves on fire. Well I was given my Uhaul and it was on BELOW empty and I was told I can return it on empty or fill it up 1/4 way for a $42 credit. (Which did not interest me) When I was looking at the truck everything was good besides a couple dings but I did notice the gas tank cap was off. It caused a little bit of a red flag for me, after the tweakers stealing gas conversation, but I thought it may have been from a pre inspection they did on the truck. We picked up the Uhaul and drove .2 miles to the gas station and tried to put gas in the tank and it sprayed all over us. I tried it, my boyfriend tried it AND a gas attendant tried it and it sprayed every time. We tried two different pumps and it happened. We ended up taking the Uhaul truck back to the pick up location (.2 miles away) and we're told we had to call roadside assistance to deal with it. We were given an option for a refund and to rebook a new truck but we're informed we would lose out on our discount that we got for $400 and would have to rebook the same truck for $525 AND we wouldn't receive the refund for 5-7 business days. Since we were spending a ton of money moving from Sacramento to la we decided to get roadside assistance that would be there at 1045. We picked up the Uhaul at 921 and got pushed back roadside assistance all the way until 2pm!!! Mind you we hired movers to move at 12pm since picked up time was 9am so we lost out on alll of our help! The roadside assistance guy was able to work on the truck while we we're at lunch and had us meet him at the gas station to make sure we were able to fill it up okay. (He wanted to do it and didn't even want us to try) this was an absolute nightmare! We were given a faulty truck and I had to get roadside assistance AT THE PICK UP LOCATION!! Which took 5HOURS!!! I missed out on my movers that I hired and the whole half of day and we had to be out that night. If we had gotten a working truck then we never would have had any issue. THEN when we returned it on empty in LA we were charged a $42 fee for not filling the truck to a 1/4 tank when WE PICKED IT UP ON EMPTY! This has been my WORST experience with Uhaul ever and this is a corporate location! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION unless you want to pay for a truck and then have to work for Uhaul for 5 hours to get it fixed before you can even take it!

Pickup was moved at the last minute. 8:00 AM phone pickup was not correctly set up. I had to provide preregistration information again onsite. Phone support to tell me I needed to wait until 9:00 took 30 minutes. It took almost 30 minutes to return because the app still didn't work, and the store was short-staffed. Terrible overall experience.

First, the truck was filthy on the outside. The windshield was so dirty, I could hardly see through it. It was obvious that the truck had not been washed in months. Secondly, the whole reason I did the no-contact app check-in was for speed and convenience. However, the keys were not in the indicated box, so I had to get them from the clerk. Also, the truck was parked behind another so I had had to wait for someone to move that one so that I could leave, long after I finished the check in process and was cleared to leave.

I'm not sure why this location charges for helping customers with the auto transporter. Our pick up location helped us with loading and securing our car onto the auto transporter free of charge. However, when we asked for assistance with unloading at this location, they said they could only help with a fee. I do not see why U-haul is charging to assist customers with this and why there is inconsistency between different locations.

Dolley not available even though I reserved it days in advance. It took 15 plus minutes to find an employee to ask about dolley and to get furniture pads. Employees were rude and not helpful. Very disappointed.

Pick up took too long, there was only 1 front counter guy there. A worker in the back came out of the bathroom and proceeded to walk straight pass me without Acknowledging me/asking if I needed/been helped. Myself and another guy were waiting in lobby. The trailer was dirty, very rusted and bent in many places.

The location was very good & service guy was excellent. Uhaul as a company is total crap! They lied about my truck being ready for pick up between 6-7 am via code & drive off. Site wasn't open & NO TRUCK! Sent me to the Rancho site to get the truck. Regional customer service person lied about not having a manager on duty to speak with. Negative stars for uhaul, good on the local Rancho team.

When a person reserves a truck and is told it will be there when you reserved it, it should be there. The attitude, take it or leave it is not acceptable or professional. Never, will I do business at the location.

Everyone was extremely helpful and patient when the situation was being explained about the truck switch. It was confusing, however, to figure out where to drop off trucks since there seemed to be a drive-thru area that was not being used, and a line of trucks was just there. If possible, I'd have someone outside to guide people on where to go versus some of us drivers just wandering lost for a while.

We love this location on Pyrites because the staff rocks and they always have the equipment we need when we need it. We use uHaul a lot lately because we just moved and are renovating an entire house. We never need to look at any other UHaul option because the Pyrites location does it right every time.

When a person makes a reservation and requests a certain location, they shouldn't find out 2 days prior that they are not picking up from where they requested. Uhaul should have a better logistical supply of in-town vs. one way. I saw a lot full of trucks at each uhaul location I drove by, if there is a truck available (no one reserved it) it should be a first come first serve. Customers were at the store asking for a truck they can see on the lot and told they couldn't rent it because it was not an in-town rental. Makes no sense, uhaul is losing money.

Fuel calculations are ridiculous!! The gage was bottomed out way below empty and I was told I would get a credit if the gage was at or above 1/4 tank. I got 20.3 gallons or $107 of fuel. I drove 23 miles and got a $45 credit. This means that I paid $67 for 23 miles, I think you can see that is way to much cost of the gas. Even a 5 Mile per gallon times $5.29 per gallon that would be $26.50 total. I figure they owe me the difference.

When we went to pick up our truck we were told it had less than a quarter of a tank of gas. We drove the truck off the property and there wasn't even enough gas in the truck to get to the nearest gas station before the truck ran out of gas and broke down on the side of the road.

My first visit to this location was spectacular, which is why I indicated an "excellent" rating on the location overall. However, my second visit to this location was atrocious, and I would not recommend or re-book based on this experience. I was given EXCELLENT customer service from Peter K. However, he had given a return time of 10:30pm with no "night fee" charge applied to my account. I arrived at 9:00pm and experienced constant issues with the mobile app, website, and calling customer service. I did NOT want to incur the after hours rental fee, so I diligently attempted to "check in" the van by every method possible. The manager Peter was still in the back lot working on vehicles since they were short staffed at the location; I even said hello to let him know I was returning the vehicle. I chatted with a customer service representative on the website. The transcript of this conversation should show in your records and that it was before 10:30pm. I was still charged the after-hours rental fee. I was also not given a gas reimbursement (which I do understand is at the manager's discretion), even though I returned the vehicle with more gas than when I checked it out. Overall this caused unnecessary stress, burden, and an additional cost incurred that I did not expect. I would not have used U-haul again had this been the type of experience I received during my first visit. Peter was fantastic, but I did not have a positive experience with any of the rest of my visit. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth and additional stress during an already stressful time. Peter was the only positive aspect of this experience and I commend him on both his work ethic and customer service/interpersonal skills... however, the additional costs incurred when I was informed they would not occur was both disappointing and disheartening. Thank you for your time.
