Make it more clear that you charge a premium for the being under 1/4 tank. I'm sure it was in your T&Cs but you should make it more obvious for a better customer experience.

Estimated grand total online was $3000 ended up paying over $3500 had I known I would have used a different company. Staff told me I didn't need towing lights because the tow dolly had all the lights. Got pulled over for no running lights and was ticketed.

This location is always busy, at least 7-8 people in line and always just one person helping people. Also,Most of the times, trucks are dirty.

Bought furniture pad and the worker told me to grab them myself. Paid $20 dollar fee to have them load my car on a tow dolly and yet again they just told me to do it myself. Claims to have worked there for 30yeara and told me all lights I needed were in tow dolly, but you actually needed to purchase lights for the back of the car you are towing. After 30 years of working at uhaul you would think your legacy would at least be of competence but you probably train animals to do a better job.

Besides the fact the drivers side view mirror fell off while on the freeway abs I could not change lanes because I could not see and how unsafe it was to be driving after that! They over charge me on the fuel and I never used the dolly or the Reilly but they still charged me! But I think The think that I am Most bummed out about is giving me a truck where the driver side mirror feel off!

Very happy with convenience and contact free experience. Decided last minute I needed a uhaul at 6:45 pm. By 7:15 I was already in the truck driving home, super convenient.

A stellar experience. The entire staff at the Santa Monica location was great. The truck rental process (both pickup and drop off) was as seamless as can be. Highly recommend this location, but given where it is, trucks are in high demand so definitely use their online portal to reserve your truck a few days in advance.

This was the worst experience I've had with U-haul! First they changed my order a day before, saying they didn't have 15 foot trucks, no excuse, not apologies, not doing anything to try to make it right with the customer. Then when I called them back about the changes, they simply said "oh we have the truck you ordered, but you have to return it to this location." Again, with no reason, no apologies, no attempt to make it right with the customer. Then I was going to be charged EXTRA for the mileage of returning the vehicle all the way back from my move!! This of course would happen after hours, and their website nor their app worked for me to return the vehicle so I will be getting yet another charge. but no one will really care, because you're just a dollar amount and not a person to this company.

Put out signs for drop-off and return so that customers can see it instead of having you assume we know where the “line starts”.

There are random people hanging out in the parking lot and asking people if they need movers. I felt harassed after some man said "don't worry I won't touch you".

The parking is not set up very well. There is no customer parking lot and if you are renting any other day than Sunday, you have to pay and are only allowed 2 hours or you have to hope to find parking in a residential neighborhood.

Here's the problem. You don't give me the option to review the location where I was originally supposed to get my truck. Unfortunately it was a horrible experience. This review is not for the Sant Monica location but for the Downtown Globe location which didn't have the truck that I was guaranteed for 9:30 am. I ran into problem after problem with uhual with no compensation

The gentleman who helped me wad fabulous. It was busy but he kept things going, dilved everyones oroblems. I had left my keys in the can and dud not have my rental #, he looked it up and retriebed the keys fir me. I am going ti get his name and write a formal letter. EXCELLENT SERVICE Also gentleman whi gives u the truck was wonderful. Trucks clean like new

Walter Perez is OUTSTANDING. We ran into a situation with a vehicle that was unable to be driven yet was still reserved through the system and he and his daughter who was on shift did everything they could to problem solve it and still make it happen. He manages this location like a true small business would looking out for their customers, even though U Haul is a bigger entity. I saw his interactions with other customers coming in and out. It is refreshing to witness AND experience. Thank you U Haul for having Walter and his team on board!

The truck that was leased to me was very dangerous to drive.with approximatly 150,000 miles,it is obvious that uhaul corporate , uhaul dealers and franchisees are not reinvesting to maintain trucks which obviously proves you only care about the profit not your number one commodity.....Your customer... You intimidate your paying customer by threatening them if it comes back with any blemish ,demanding we do inspection,take pictures do all the freaking work while your motor,your transmission, your brakes, your steering is a piece of $H!t....

The checking out procedure is the WORST ever. I am a "regular (commercial) customer. My information should be retained in the UHAUL or local Uhaul store location. It should NOT take 20 minutes to check out and pick up my rental.vehicle. This is not the first time. This just the way it is. The line up of customers to check out just keeps getting longer. A customer, especially a regular should be able to go up to the counter. Hand them my card, and be out of there in 5 minutes. Your procedure is .horrible. Whoever at Corporate decided on this procedure must not have any retail store experience, especially at a Uhaul location.

They charged me $28.95 for gas and I had filled it up to exactly half tank that i received it having. I called the central Uhaul 800 number and they said the Santa Monica location office will look into it and get back with me. The did not call me and it's been over 2 days.

The lady who assisted me with checking in to get my pickup must have been the manager - she was very very sweet and was helping all of her coworkers while assisting me to make sure all was being handled correctly. Unfortunately I was given the wrong truck. When I did my own inspection I realized this and told the gentlemen who gave me the truck who I think was named Jerry. He said it was fine and to just take a pic of the gas and mileage myself. The bed of the truck was also pretty dirty and the gas was only a quarter tank full. When I returned the truck it took the gentlemen who received it about 15 minutes to resolve it all. While the wait was tedious I'm glad he squared it all away so I wasn't charged more than I should have been given the gas and mileage were obviously different than what I was given.

The 10' truck did NOT have a ramp. I was unaware of this fact and it complicated matters with a couple of very, very heavy items. Other than that, all was terrific!

Overall I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with uhaul. Something that should be of ease with a move that is already not easy to do was miserable. From uhaul proving wrong availability info.. having to drive an hr to a location and them telling me that location does not have 1 way vans when online it stated it did and i reserved it. I want a refund I will be calling tomorrow. Had to drive to another location extra 10 moles to when dropping it off to the location that was given to me they said we dont accept oke way returns. Horrible customer service horrible. Running around just to pay one of the well known american companies. Very u happy and dissapointed customerZ

Manager was very rude and yelling. He blocked the entrance to the parking lot and would not assist at all. He was completely angry and did not assist any customers. Other staff members were very friendly and helpful. Most Uhauls were blocked in and had to wait for Uhauls to shuffle to get one and get out

I just want to acknowledge the whole team at the Santa Monica location. Walter Perez was especially helpful in assisting me, additionally when I kept asking him to repeat himself since I am deaf he showed empathy & walked me thru the entire process. A big shout out to the professional who checked my rental back in, Deon. What a shining team - I don't want to move again but if I have to this will be my first stop. Thanks again.

Self return process is unnecessary difficult. U-Hal app don't work with Firefox web browser. After asking if van is clean still need photos to prove both the cleanness of Van and already confirmed location. Also why advertise $29 as rental price when that is not even half of the cost?

the passanger side strap to the tow dolly I rented was freyed when I picked it up in Santa Monica and was half torn through by the time I was to central Texas. I had to stop and get it replaced. That should have been inspected before pickup by the location.
