Truck windows were dirty, creating glare from low sun and car headlights. I had to clean the windows inside and out to safely operate the vehicle. Also, it stank from cigarette smell (and the vehicle only had about 5,000 miles on it). Would appreciate next time getting a truck that's a little more ready-to-use.FRANCIS B.

My experience sucked. I was scheduled for 9am Friday 510 Heron Dr, Unit 300, Swedesboro, NJ and I got there on time only to be told "Oh you've been moved another location in New Jersey". The 411 White Horse Pike, Somerdale, NJ 08083 was 40 minutes in heavy traffic out of my way in the wrong direction and I had to pry the new location out of the woman who was there. She certainly seemed to me to believe I was a bother to her. You had three days to let me know of the change, no phone, text or email but no nothing. So your location at 510 Heron Dr, Unit 300, Swedesboro, NJ sucked and I blame you U Haul corporate for the total failure in customer service.DONALD W.

This location always seems to have what I need in stock. The personel were great (as usual). I have rented here for years. It was fairly light today but even during heavy customer traffic times they get the job done. I think it also helps when you are familiar with renting.Albert C.

I tried to use the lo online pickup option. The website wouldn't let me sign in. When I went inside to pick up the truck the regular way there were 5 people in line ahead of me already and the only person working the store was busy have a personal conversation rather than taking care of customers. I need to purchase some items for the move so, I tried to use the Uhaul scan tool to speed up the checkout, but it only recognized the barcode of one of my three items. 35 minutes after I arrived I finally was able to go inspect my truck. The furniture dolly I had arranged for was not in the truck already as the guy at the counter told me it would be. So, I had to go inside again, wait in line again (another 13 minutes) and was finally given the dolly. It took nearly an hour total for me to get thru the pick up process due to no fault of my own. The truck itself was clean, but worn and had the worst ride of any rental truck I've ever driven. I've rented from uhaul in general and this specific location many times and this was by far the worst overall experience I've had.Scott R.

The truck was clean and the service representative was fine but the rental experience was TERRIBLE. First, my reservation was confirmed for the Deptford NJ store, but then it changed to Somerdale, NJ when I went to do the pickup. Next, I realized I needed to rent a furniture dolly for my move. The rentals were all checked out, so I had to purchase a dolly. This would've been fine, but there was some kind of issue with your payment/ billing system. We attempted to close the checkout for an hour, all while several other customers were able to purchase and return items. My bank put a hold on my card with all the attempted payments, so I had to call my bank and have the card unfrozen. Your representative tried to tell me to go to an ATM to get cash, which seems very unreasonable since the issue was on your end. Finally, the only way were able to close out the rental was to cancel the original request, and do a whole new one. The whole process felt unnecessarily drawn out, and it felt like your representative was putting the onus on me to rectify the situation. I was overall frustrated and I hope to not have to experience something like this again with Uhaul. Thank you.BRENDAN M.

We were told by the corporate number the Somerdale location had a pick up truck available. When we got there no pickup. Aaron and the other associate (who I didn't get her name) were very helpful offering a van instead. We were fine with that and our experience was great! Communication is 50/50. I originally was scheduled to have my hitch installed on 8/18/21. Drop my Suv off 11:30 am. At 12:30 pm I received a call from the install center stating the hardware is not available in the box. I was basically waiting in the neighborhood for my car to be completed since I live in another township. I then had to walk back to the install center to pickup my vehicle and to wait to reschedule depending on availability of the needed hardware. Today 8/26/21. I was rescheduled to drop my vehicle off at 9:30 am. Again I told them that I was going to wait in the area for the hitch to be installed. Walked about 3/4 of a mile to a diner to help pass the time. I then wasted a little more time at a near by store. Left from there to walk back to Uhaul to see my vehicle still parked where I left it. This is now 11:15 am. Decide to waste more time and walk a half mile to Walmart to waste more time. Decide to call uhaul about 12:00pm stuck online waiting 10 min. Nobody picks up. Walk back to uhaul now its 12:25pm. Go into findout how much longer and why my car hasn't been worked on yet, meanwhile another car that showed up after I dropped mine off is now being worked on. I am then asked if I want to reschedule? I said no this is my second time scheduled already. Was told not sure how long but it wouldn't take long once my vehicle is in garage. I then walk 2 blocks to go waste more time at billiards hall and spend more of my ti.e and money. Was there for an hour and a half. Walk back once again to uhaul at 2:00. At 2:10 my suv is taken into be "worked" on. 3:30 rolls around. Still not done, still doesn't seem like they got anywhere. I ask how long again? Was told shouldn't be long. Another hour goes by and at this point my wife has to come get my son because he has been waiting with me and I have been dragging him up and down the road all day to keep busy to pass time. She arrives at 4:30 and it's still not even on my car yet. There still dealing with the bolts. I then watch multiple videos of how to install a hitch on my particular vehicle and it says it should take a novice Maybe an hour and a professional about 30-45 min. My vehicle was not ready until 5:15. I spent 7 hours and 45 min. Waiting for my vehicle that I dropped off at 9:30 AM!!! I personally could have installed it. I just figured why not have "professionals' do it since they do this type of work everyday? I get home. I finally take a look under my suv to find the heat shields at the muffler are missing. They were to be removed, trim a tab off and reinstall. Nope, just never replaced. Meanwhile my fuel sending unit wiring is floating because it was originally attached to the driver side heat shield. And to be clear the whole entire time every time I would stop back in, ask a question I felt as if there was no urgency to get my vehicle done or to inform me of a time frame. As if who cares. I bit my tongue, paid for my hitch and left. I will be making a few calls tomorrow to Uhaul corporate to discuss the awful surface, and communication and the lack of knowledge about pieces retaining to my vehicle. So.no I will not refer the Somerdale NJ U-haul to anyone, not my friends, not my family, not even my enemies. Noone else deserves the torture I went through today for a simple hitch install.SCOTT W.

The tow dolly was bent from abuse and it drove down the road sideways. â€œCrabwalkedâ€. When going over small bumps in the road it became airborne multiple times at 40 mph. However, once loaded it was not so prominent and towed the car fine. The bent tow dolly was not the fault of my Uhaul Rep who was great getting me set up! excellent!!!!Paul W.

Incompetent installation and bald faced arrogance. When I picked up my vehicle, I inspected and found that the body of the car was NOT reassembled. The large shield underneath the trunk area that attaches to the bumper cover and the metal floor of the trunk was left off ENTIRELY. When I brought this to the attention of the store manager, he stated that it was their standard procedure! I insisted that they provide me with the parts and fasteners that they removed. They had the shield still laying on the shop floor but most of the fasterners were lost. The store manager refused to complete the job properly.Jonathan F.

The hitch was on backorder which is fine, but number of times they made me reschedule because they cancelled on me was ridiculous. The let me schedule for a Thursday at 3pm, I called the day before to check if the reservation is okay. They said it was. Then on thursday morning I wake up to a message saying they got the part in and I can schedule an appt on the next tuesday at the earliest. It's ridiculous. Your customer service people and shop people arent anywhere near on the same page.Evan A.

I was upset when I was allocated the truck which had 1000 bumps with "x" on it and the front paid was chapped off. They had other trucks for rent but the rep refused to assign me another truck. U-Haul should NOT be charging customers for 2 days use if only a few hours are needed. I only needed a 7 hour rental, but the minimum charge is for 48 hours. It's not fairly priced.JULISSA V.

your website is horrendous. Trying to upload pictures, confirm things, log in and out, navigate around the site... it's absolutely disastrous. I gave up and just dropped off the key and left the truck there. I used 15 miles on the truck and it took me 45 minutes of picture taking and answering questions for it to not allow me to go further in the check out process. It would behoove you to simplify this process.Michelle M.

I rent from uhaul quite frequently, my reservation was not logged in where I could see it or use the app/24hr share to complete my transaction. I stayed on the phone 1hr and 52mins before receiving help also sitting outside of the uhaul location waiting in front of the camera for proof I was there and didn't want to leave for further instruction, until finally I had to tired from my moving all day. She went above & beyond to assist me with my frightening truck rental dilemma. Her customer service care was excellent! She was very courteous & helpful! Live personnel!!! Faster service!!!! Waiting time for phone calls no longer than 5-10 minutes tops!!! Better customer accommodations & options for prompt satisfactory service. Finally after several attempts to get roadside assistance, an entire 7 days later. Patricia the manager of roadside assistance & Sharonda the Uhaul customer service representative satisfactorily & successfully resolved my truck rental dilemma. Patricia assured me the unsafe, disabled, abandoned rental truck would be handled within a time window of one to 1 1/2 hours. True enough, the Uhaul rental truck was picked up in a timely manner, in the time frame set (90 minutes per text message). I want to thank Masha, Sharonda, & Patricia for their efficiency in helping me with this matter. I was pleased with their courtesy, understanding of my mishap. Yes I would use Ciofffiâ€s Towing Services in the future, if needed. Unfortunately I cannot honestly & accurately rate the driver because I didn't have any contact with them.Lisa K.
