the paperwork showed that the tank was full , so when the truck was returned and the tank was toped off it took 10 gallons. At that time we only drove 27 miles, that means that the truck only got 2.7 MPG something very wrong. in closing how does the customer know just how full the tank really was?

I tried to rent using the app but it was too slow. I shouldn't have to verify my information every single time I rent a vehicle. The answer given was to protect my data. It's almost 2020, none of my data is safe from hackers so I appreciate the effort, but it's a pain in the butt to stand outside waiting for someone to manually check my information on the app. Also, the gas cap was off the tank when I checked the vehicle, I notified the person inside and it sounds like this is a common occurrence. Maybe invest in locking gas caps? I had no way to determine if someone had put something in the gas tank. Seemed totally unsafe, but no one seemed to be concerned.

Online system failed so I ended up having to check in in the office which cost me an extra $14, after going thru the entire online process already. I wasn’t told about how to check back in or what time facility closed or even where to park the returned truck until a text alert came in about 15 min before the truck was “due.” The having to pay for all damages immediately despite my having full coverage insurance also seems like a predatory way to get people to purchase your insurance. Nice business practice, U-haul.

Hello, I recently rented a truck from Uhaul and had a terrible experience. When I first arrived in the store, to pick up my truck, I couldn't find anyone for 15 minutes. I went into every single employee area to try and find someone and couldn't find a single person. I went outside to try and see if there was anyone around. I looked in all the trucks and I finally found the lady sitting in a truck on her phone. She was sitting in a truck that I had parked right next to when I first pulled up so I am positive she saw me go in. Once she was out of the truck she did a good job going over the contract, I will give her that, but then she just handed me the keys to the truck with no explanation of any of the features. This lead to a very dangerous situation. I was driving the truck all weekend in the dark and finally, on Sunday night, I got pulled over by a police officer. The officer said I had no lights on in the back of my truck and that it was extremely dangerous. Because the employee never told me that you have to pull a special lever in the truck to turn on the lights I had been driving around for multiple nights with no lights on. THIS IS A HUGE SAFTEY ISSUE. I could have been rear ended or I could have caused an accident of some kind where me or someone else was seriously injured. I was fine with the terrible customer service but putting me in a dangerous situation is absolutely unacceptable. Please make this right. Rachael

Short handed. You check the vehicle out when you give it away but you don’t look at it when it gets dropped off, not to mention the person would not provide any proof to me that i dropped off a clean non-damaged vehicle.

The woman Alicia, Sunday,November 10 @ 12:48 and the next three calls she hung up on me. She insisted she was the one to check in my vehicle that I left Saturday night. The store manager knew that I was slow healing and damage because I talked about it. He also knew I would be dropping it off Saturday night and told me where the key drop of was. Given my condition I would think he would tell me the rules of dropping off but he did not. I suspect this is because the computer was truly miss behaving. Again my slow healing and damage my memory is extremely poor when it comes to certain details, but when you do to me what she did it is engraved in my head and I can’t get rid of it. She yelled at me, I mean she yelled at me. I am disabled with profound complex posttraumatic stress disorder. After this experience I was unable to drive I was dizzy, I wasn’t able to eat and I ended up being very very late to my house to get it finished. I don’t feel like she should be allowed to answer telephone calls. I even asked that she not take my calol and I be allowed to finish with the young man who put me on hold. She truly insisted that she was the one to check in my truck and there were no ladders left in the truck. She did not appreciate that I said I live in St John’s I know the value of these ladders and I know how easy it is to look at something like this and call a friend and the ladders are gone. This is not an unreasonable thing for me to say and St Johns of North Portland Oregon. However her reaction was personal and she was personally insulted that she did not appreciate that I would suggest this possibility. She just flat hang up on me and so I called back and I said I request a transcript of the last call and she hung up on me again. I called again and they said please consider what you’re doing this is not appropriate. I said I am a customer I’ve been a loyal customer to this particular business place for 22 years. May I ask how long you have been with this place? She was screaming at me that all I was doing was calling to upset her or something like that harass her and I don’t just want my ladders. I had a 1:05 PM the same woman had to call me to tell me that they rented the same truck, not fixing heavy or light, and she had not looked in the back of the truck. She was lying. The location and staff are great. The corporate UHaul app still sucks moving blankets. I completed a walk-in reservation in 1/2 the time and left without that nagging feeling of frustration.

PLEASE stop using "deoderizer" in the vehicles. The sent is so strong I immediately got a headache and allergy issue. This is the second time this has happened. My clothes STUNK of it after.

Ridiculous Hidden. I never expected to be charged $70. I reserved a 10’ truck a week before but was told it was unavailable when I got there. Ended up using a huge truck that was difficult to drive. Unpleasant experience

Uhaul uses some sort of automated app on your phone to confirm your acceptance of the vehicle's condition. It was unnecessarily complicated and I didn't even try figuring out how to complete it.

We scheduled our pick up at 7am when the store opened, we showed up at 730 to find the store hadn’t opened yet. It wasn’t until 815 am that an employee finally showed up.

The people at the location were wonderful and super helpful and the truck was great. The U-Haul app/UI sucks. I had to send a lot of photos and unnecessary personally identifable information via my phone. I seriously question U-Haul's ability to keep that I do safe in transit/at rest. I normally jump at the chance to do everything online but would recommend making your reservation in person.

They made the experience comfortable, worry free, easy. I appreciate and approve this location. They are nearby New Seasons Market which is also convenient.

booked trailer over the phone 48 hrs in advance and showed up on-time/early for pick up and the nightmare began. It took 2 hours of waiting to get my trailer but the equipment was booked to 4 people at once. When that problem was solved, the POS payment system crashed. There was a line of customers all waiting for hours to get our equipment. The employee was nice and was doing his best but there was zero company support. :/ In a world where I can order anything online easily, I'd give U-Haul an F- grade.

The system was down and delayed moving for 2.5 hours. Though it was west coast wide shut down, it was incredibly inconvenient as moving can already be stressful, especially on a time schedule. Otherwise, great service.

The reservation was sent to a location that did t have my truck and were very rude about it. They sent me 6 miles away to another location that only had a truck with NO GAS!! And I was expected to bring it back with a 3 quarter full tank after having to put gas in it right away. I ended having to pay $50 out of pocket for gas was still charged extra for not having it back to 3 quarter tank. I am sorry but I don't feel like having to pay uhaul gas that I didn't use while using the truck. Unprofessional and a waste of money. Never will use it again.
