The one guy working at 9 a.m. (when I was 5th in line) was awesome and had way too much for one person to do. The one person working around 2 p.m. during my drop off, when I was the only customer, couldn't have been less helpful if she tried (overheard during a call re: a reservation, "can we drop it after hours?" "no, wednesday at noon" [the various "after hours drop" boxes and information are meant for something else then?] / "how much is my total cost?" "I don't know, I didn't look at that part and I have to go back in to find it for you"). Give the morning guy a raise.

The fuel gauge was lower than what was shown in my contract so I paid for the previous customer's gas. I asked my questions to the "technician" at your location because your sales person was incompetent.

Employee was clearly stoned. Returned vehicle 1.5 hours after I rented it, but employee apparently didn't check it in for 6 more hours, leading to me being double charged on Rental Charge and the CDW charge. Vehicle was full of mud upon receipt. Luckily I wasn't hauling anything that needed to remain clean.

The UHaul online process is a disaster. I love working with the people at this location, but UHaul needs to fix its online offerings. Thankfully the location staff figured out how to pull up my reservation without me having to battle the online system.

Charged me for a utility dolly and furniture pads which I did not order or use. Once I received the bill via email, I called the U-haul location and I spoke with an employee to notify them of the error. He said they were going to remove the charges but they still have not done so 11 days later. This is bad business.

Amanda was amazing, at the beginning of the day we quickly realized my trucks brake connector was broken and wasn’t able to pick up the trailer. Knowing this Amanda called Matt at the Columbia Blvd location to see if he had time to help me. I drove over to that location in which Matt quickly fixed my cable with a new connector in less than 15 min. Due to the work of these two working together and providing great customer service I was able to promptly pick up the trailer and be on my way and relatively close to my original schedule for the day. THANK YOU SO MUCH AMANDA AND MATT!

Check-in/out process is lengthy and slow, even the online with app one. I did most of the steps beforehand online to make the checkout as fast as possible, yet I had to repeat most of the steps when picking the truck up, which was a bit frustrating.

I have rented from this u-haul location alot in the past year and i have always had great customer service.they always have vehicles available . I've used the minivan and the pick-up trucks. Very handy. It's very easy to just call and ask if they have a truck or van available and go in the day I need it to rent it the only drawback about doing it online is that it is a very long tedious process and it is kind of confusing but the people that work there are great that plenty of boxes and tape and everything on hand if you need that it's our experiences have been really good and I definitely recommend it

I tried calling this location at least 5 times the morning of truck return to verify office hours with no answer. On the 5th call, the phone transferred to a corporate operator who verified office hours and OKd the drop off. Upon arrival at the Lombard location, the attendant (Alesha) was rude, short, and less than helpful. Five minutes after leaving the office, Alesha called me saying that she had no record of the drop off authorization. She then threatened me with additional charges and fees if I didn’t return and pick the truck back up. She was unwilling to quote me the additional fees and simply told me to call her manager. As I was driving, I was unable to take down the manager’s number and asked her to text it to me which never happened. Upon calling corporate again, they assured me their would be no fees. The attendant at the location needs counseled in customer service and public interaction. I will not be using this location again and will certainly not recommend it.

Matt, general manager, was very helpful and was willing to listen to my concerns about the billing for my rental. He remedied the issue, which I greatly appreciate. I cannot say the same for the other staff, which I cannot remember their names. The rating for this location would be higher if more employees were helpful and attentive to details like the general manager. The truck showed areas of damage, none of which made the vehicle unusable. The return process, was frustrating. No employees were initially present when I returned the vehicle. Finally, someone came to the front desk from the back area after a 20min wait. This employee was not helpful, and specifically discouraged me from walking the vehicle for inspection with them. They repeatedly said "goodnight sir" when I asked to walk with them or if there was anything else they needed from me. An unwarranted charge was placed on my final bill for the use of the dolly, when I and the other person went out of our way to avoid the dolly or break the zip-tie around it. We were still charged. I sent two emails regarding the issue that were not returned. When I called the store initially to address the issue, the employee was not helpful beyond stating that she would have the GM return my call in about 45min. After waiting over 2hrs I decided to call back. I was able to get Matt and have a very helpful conversation with him. I would only recommend this location due to the service provided by Matt.

The system for turning in a vehicle after hours has changed since the last time I did that, not for the better. The site did not recognize my password, there was no info about specifics in print info I had, and it is all totally dependent on smartphone technology. Fortunately I was able to reach someone by phone, but I don't think it's an improvement as far as customer experience.
