We were told we had to take a trailer (6 x 12) that had to be used locally. The trailer was old and vibrated too much for comfort. I followed in another car and could see the drive shaft and right wheel vibrating on our way home when it was empty. We ended up calling the road side assistance line who made us pull over and take pictures to insure there was nothing broken. The determined that it was just old and we would be fine to drive it. We had been driving 55 miles per hour the whole time, but this cost us a lot of time to pull over and wait for instructions, submit pictures on line and wait for their analysis. Next time I am going to ask the age of a trailer before accepting whatever they make us take. I will insist on a newer one to keep from experiencing this again. The irony is that the entire back of the trailer says smoother ride...HA! It was just the opposite. I don't blame the person who rented it to us, because he said this trailer was "assigned" to us since we were just driving to Tampa and back. But next time, I'll ask for them to override the "assignment" if it is an older trailer. This one was 30 years old. It was clean, just not well enough maintained for a smooth ride.

The sales rep we spoke with was very friendly and kind! Only down side was the truck was much harder to maneuver (gear shift, back latch, and ramp were all very difficult to use) compared to other trucks we’ve rented (Home Depot) that don’t charge mileage and trucks also have backup cameras that are very useful.

I was out $60 dollars worth of fuel because they would not give me a credit for all of the extra fuel I returned the truck with. I was required to return it with 5/16th of a tank but returned it with 15/16th of a tank. I had no idea how much fuel I would use. Never dreamed they wouldn’t compensate me for the extra fuel. Not happy about that.

Really easy to check in. First time using my Mobile app. Really easy to use. Associate was right there instead of dropping the key in the box I handed it right to the associate. I would definitely recommend this location.

The equipment itself was clean and appeared to be well maintained, however the overall experience was below average due to a serious oversight. The trailer was sent out with the wrong license plate. When I attempted to complete the photo check-in and enter the plate number, the system told me I would have to return to the location and speak with someone at the counter. Unfortunately, I was already home at that point, which made this extremely inconvenient and frustrating. This is not a minor issue — sending out a trailer with the incorrect plate could lead to legal problems for the customer. Better verification and final checks before equipment leaves the lot would prevent this from happening to future customers.

Equipment was clean but not completely maintained because there was a sensor out on one of the tires. But other than that the gentleman who was at the front desk was fast and efficient. He was able to get everything done at a timely manner and I really appreciate his work ethic.

Firstly; this is NOT the first time I’ve reserved a U-haul truck and had things switched less than 24 hours prior to picking up. First occasion was in February 2024 when I was called the day prior of picking up a 20’ moving van, and ordered moving blankets and dolly(s). The original pick-up location was switched 3x. Once they switched to the third location, I was given a 26’, which was WAY too large. Now, this is the second time in less than two years I’ve had issues similar to this. I was texted, not even CALLED about the pickup location being moved further from where I was, for a 20’ moving van. I did call to ensure I would get that size as a 26’ would be way to large, and a 15 would be to small. I did also order 12 moving blankets and 2 dolly’s to go with the original reservation. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone in scheduling/reservations told me he would call the new location to ensure the dolly and blankets were placed in the vehicle, as to ensure I could get the right size I wanted, I was picking it up on 11/8 in the evening. After all that, I they forgot my additional items. So very disappointed in the service provided by u-haul, and might consider spending the extra money elsewhere. Can’t believe this cost 267.00, and it was awful.

I rented a 6 x 12 trailer and drove it less than 2 miles home. I had 3 out of 4 tires flat and undriveable by the time I got home. After four hours and two separate tire people coming by, I was finally able to use the trailer. It ruined the plans I had for the evening, and I was shocked that I almost got on the highway with my family with such an unsafe trailer. Obviously no one checked the the trailer before renting it out.

Matthew is possibly running some sort of sneaky gas scam gas charge I only drove 19 miles! Put in 1.76 gallons of gas He claimed some photo he had proved I owed 8.55 for 2 more gallons of gas! I only went 19 miles! I handed him the receipt from the station across the street. 1.76 gallons! That’s way more gas than 19 miles. He said there was “nothing he could do”. His id tag says that he’s the Owner. Ha! He’s worthless. He knew that I had faithfully rented Multiple times from this store. Luke. He is responsible for me Never again trusting ur business. I intend to dispute the Amex charge And escalate this issue to corporate. How many unsuspecting customers does Matthew gouge for 2 gallons of gas when they put 1.76 in moments before the turn in. And only drove 19 miles to begin with. If u adjust this bill correctly I will consider the matter resolved. If you don’t. I’ll talk it up w Amex. U-Haul. And the Courts if need be. Matthew is your worse customer service person. Any Owner who can’t adjust a bill to reflect the truth and preserve good will to a regular frequent customer is aa arrogant toxic liability. . I originally selected a hitch through their website after it stated it would fit my vehicle. However, once I brought my car in, I was contacted during installation and told the hitch would not fit after all, and that I would need to pay extra for a different model. This was frustrating, as I relied on their website’s fitment information when making my decision. While the installation was ultimately completed, I hope this was not a case of being upsold to a higher-priced hitch unnecessarily. Transparency and accuracy on product fitment are very important for customer trust.
