I was never shown the unit before I rented it. Two days later when I went to the unit to pack it, I found it was smaller than I expected and needed, definitely not what I was told I was renting. So after two days I canceled my contract and was told I’d be out for the money of the full month rent because “that’s how we do it here, no refunds”. I got a great experience with my rental and had a ton of fun with the Chevrolet I was put in. I would love to go back and plan on doing exactly that here in a short-while for the same type of situation I was able to make it to on 9-19-2022; Lecrae and Tauren rocked the stage at WA State Fair! U-Haul- A friendly neighborhood dealer was of a perfect wing (man) and I even got to go and get myself a loan offer from what is now my home-branch after needing to meet the requirements of U-Haul and their respectable rental policy and-or (and/or) standard, precautionary procedures with accountability in the, GREAT, Pacific Northwest. Communication. I feel ripped off. I made a reservation for 9 for a cargo trailer and they called and told me 12 is the only time it will be available. But when I arrived they said my ball hitch was too big. So I decided to rent a truck instead of the trailer. They said they only have the most giant truck available for the day, when clearly there are up to 10 smaller trucks there on the lot at the momentâ€¦â€¦ So my moving day was supposed to start at 9 and ended up happening at 1:00 with a massive truck that cost me 4 times more than originally planned for this move.Kristin S.

We made our reservation online, uploaded everything we were supposed to, and yet it still took 30 minutes to pick up our rental. Then there were errors, which my husband pointed out before we left and we were assured would be taken care of. When we checked in, we were double-charged. I still haven't seen the credit card credit come through. You can take the money immediately from my card, but you can't put it back on?David D.

Employees were friendly and everything seemed okay until they drove moving van to area for me to drive. Van looked old and had 190,000 miles on odometer. I drove it home to load it seemed okay. My friend, Jim Lindholm drove it from my house said the steering was difficult and front suspension was shaking all the time. Well, it finally died on I-90 about 160 miles our destination. Engine stopped because of electronic problem. This was the worst experience I've every had with rental equipment. This 26' van is to old to be trusted to move any distancejohn M.

Upon getting directions from my rental agent, I was told I should put the amount of fuel back into the vehicle (pickup) that I used, I did exactly that. We drove the truck 24 miles, I put exactly 2 gallons back into the vehicle. Unless your truck can is getting 8 miles per gallon, I put the right amount back in. I had a pleasant experience with this U-Haul location. Nice staff who were genuinely interested in helping me make the right truck selection and getting the very good price. Picking up the truck was fast and easy. Checking in online prior to truck pick-up made the whole process go smoothly. I was grateful for U-Haul finding a truck for me that was very close to my home to use in accessing our POD that we had in storage with our move to Washington. Staff were not trained well. Called to see if I still wanted to rent the truck an hour after I'd already rented the truck and driven away in it. There was a padlock on the rear door. Key on ring would open the lock they said. Key on ring did not fit in lock. So we left an appliance dolly, furniture dolly, and 12 blankets unsecured in the back of your truck in your lot at night in a sketchy neighborhood. Hope they are still there tomorrow. Self check-in might safe you labor dollars, but it seriously degrades your standard of customer service. I used to think of U-Haul as a place that had speedy friendly service. This is the second time I've gotten a U-Haul the first time I found a U-Haul phone on my truck when I got home I called customer service and she was kind of rude and told her about a phone that I had phone belongs to U-Haul and it was on my truck when I got home While she was rude told me it's my responsibility to return that phone I said what about the reward she goes you don't get a reward I said then I'll throw the phone away because she was rude to me anyway the next day I took the phone back this time we booked a trailer well we had a 10 o'clock appointment when we got there there was no trailers available until after 1 o'clock so we had to drive all the way to Olympia from Shelton to get a trailer that was a little upsetting and we got to take the trailer back to Shelton where we were supposed to get a trailer because we told him we didn't want to drive all the way back to Olympia to return it and everybody was very helpful but it's the problem is that they put us three hours behind time and I was late for picking up stuffJaclen L.

Very inconvenient location, hard to load in and out of room. Had to leave vehicle unsecured and walk up and down stairs to put stuff in the storage room. Parking is not close to units. No light in storage room, had to used flashlight on phone. Bolts were sticking out of the door, they tore through two of my shirts and scratched my back. There are people living in the storage units. Definitely a sketchy area. Much nicer storage units for less money in the area. The employee helping me was doing her best to assist, but she had been dealt a bad hand. I showed up with a reservation for a storage unit, but the whole hallway of units had been freshly painted and I couldn’t move in, couldn’t empty the trailer that was scheduled for return that day, and ended up wasting a lot of time and fuel. The size of the units are not as stated. They have low points and odd shapes making it impossible to get some items in them. If I rent a 15 foot truck you should have a unit to fit that cubic feet inside a unit. The stairs to the unit went up about 9 steps. The hall then went about 5 steps forward, then down 3 steps. Then forward about 6 feet, then back up 3 steps. That hall is treacherous especially for someone with mobility issues carrying heavy household objects. My reservation for for a ground floor unit. I was issued a different unit by the clerk, so they do not appear to be able to read a reservation. They one thing they did right was be polite and issue 2 small units free to make up the difference. It was very difficult to access the facility because their is only one street side access point and it was in use by someone. I had to wait for them to unload. I had to nose out into 4 lane traffic to back in. Dangerous. There was a rat poison bait box inside one of the units. Is my stuff safe from infestation?David S. | First Impressions

With the exception of one staff member, everyone there was very helpful, supportive, and hospitable. There was a gentleman working outside (I think he was checking in returned vehicles and overseeing the lot) who I felt was condescending and made me feel stupid. The friendly people at the counter directed me outside after finishing payment and registration, and told me my truck number. I had my key, and went out to find it. I (wrongfully) assumed that my truck would logically not be one of the blocked in trucks in the lot, seeing as how I had just paid and was ready to leave to start my move. I couldn't find my truck, since I was just checking the front row of them. In my mind, why would I get a truck key for a truck that I couldn't get out of the lot? The trucks were parked in about a 6 x 3 setup. Mine happened to be a truck trapped in the middle of them. I tried to get assistance from this male staff member who was outside, and without even looking up from what he was doing, told me it was right there, and he seemed frustrated that I was so inept and couldn't complete the simple task of finding my own truck. He obviously didn't feel like being much help, so I looked harder. It was then that I found my truck, blocked in, in the middle of this rectangle of trucks. How does it make sense that my truck would be trapped in by the others? You just gave me the key expecting me to pull off of the lot. And this guy was making me feel dumb for not being able to find it? There was a family also searching for their truck as I finally found mine. This male staff member seemed oblivious and/or apathetic to both the plight of this family as well as my own struggles. I got into my trapped-in truck, as this lost family realized that their truck was the one blocking mine in. I don't blame them for this issue though. That male staff member should have cared and been perceptive enough to realize that it was taking an inappropriately long time for two sets of customers to find their rigs, and came over to help us. Even if he thought we were idiots, you're in a customer service business. After getting my truck out of that puzzle-box, I pulled it around to the loading area. I should also mention that this was the same guy who escorted me to my new storage space. En route on foot, he asked me which unit we was mine. I didn't know. He commented on how it made him worry that (or something along those lines) I didn't even know what number unit I had. Sir, I had JUST paid. For a unit that I only signed up for because your associates had offered me a free first month if I did. Ok, I agree, I should know what unit I had just rented. But you didn't know either, and you were the staff member ESCORTING me to that very unit. You didn't know either, and I felt it was very inappropriate for you to have commented on that to me. If I'm a customer, and I'm not doing harm, you don't let those opinions out in a blaze of glory in your attitude towards us. It made me feel bad and not want to work with you anymore. Overall, my uhaul experience this time was pleasant, and I was really happy to have those services available in my community. My experience with this one staff member shouldn't inhibit other people from patronizing this uhaul's services. I wasn't even going to say anything, but Uhaul just emailed me and asked me to fill out a survey about my experience. So, I'm just trying to be honest. I would definitely use this specific Uhaul facility again. I'll just stay away from this one grumpy guy. Maybe he was having a bad day or something, but I'm already stressed out from the move.
