Very easily and economical way to move Thank you for your service. The only thing that can be improved is the moving crew that assisted with the loading in Olympia. They were in a rush and in the final time of loading they were throwing the furniture in the ubox and then threw all of the pads in without putting on the furniture. You might try making sure the equipment is available at the first choice by the customer instead of changing the pickup location three times like you did to me. The 7 connector switch & Brake controller installation works fine. The flat 4 that I put in was checked out and working before I brought it in. Now the left turn signal only works when the brakes are applied. The installer told me that my flat 4 installation wires were only twisted and taped and needed wire nuts. He did not look close enough to see that they were soldered - and have been flawless since installation. Nor did he check it to make sure it was still working after his work. I put on wire nuts anyway but of course that did not change anything. When I called to get it in for fixing the installer was not available for3 days. They treat it like it was just another job instead of a problem they cause which in my opinion should get a much higher priority.Ray R.

The utility trailer did fall off the ball right at the intersection. I had to stop a few hundred feet up the road in traffic and reattach the trailer. This trailer seemed very unstable at times. Seemed like it made more noise than usual.Kevin R.

I originally reserved a 5'X8' Cargo/Van Trailer. I was contacted by phone (not from this location) that this location did not have one available for me. They offered a 5'X9' option at the same price. I agreed to the swap. When I was picking up, I was directed to a 5'X9' Open Trailer instead. They stated that was what I was "upgraded" to. Somehow my order was changed during the phone call without me being aware of it. I was not expecting an open trailer. That option would have been detrimental to my stuff if the weather was not good. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and the open trailer was actually easier to use in that situation. But, it did cost me $50 to purchase a cargo net and tie-downs that wouldn't have been necessary with a closed trailer. I believe the person on the phone should have been more clear that the trailer they were switching me to was more different than just the size. Closed vs. open can drastically change how stuff needs to be protected in a trailer. If the weather was rainy, I could not have used the open trailer.Sam L.

This is the first time I've had a horrid experience at this UHaul. We utilize this particular location often. Lots of inexperienced employees providing excuses and not solutions. Likewise, 2 of their employees were outright rude and condescending (after re-stating that no, I didn't want insurance coverage she flounced away yelling over her shoulder that I better remember that if I damage the trailer I will have to pay for damages immediately. Upon returning the trailer at least 15 minutes early, we were met in the parking lot by a young man wearing a mask (no issue with that) but unable to hear or understand him I was standing closer than the magical 6'. Out of the blue, he states "oh yeah, I have Covid so I'm working outside". Well, yep, we back up and inform him that that should have been statement number one. That mask protects him, not us. I would have masked up! I don't appreciate that type of careless, nonchalant attitude. Also, being over 60 and gaving to decipher a fast-talking mumbler gets old. I will give this location another chance, I certainly hope they get all the newbies trained up, understand that they needn't talk down to customers and yelling doesn't have to be the the normal volume of communication.Hannah H.

Very strange that I was asked to verify my rental 3 times in 2 days including after I had already verified. The vehicle worked well for my purpose and check in when I was finished was friendly and smooth. The woman I picked up from was quite unprofessional- launching into a story about how she didn't sleep well because of her kids, rescue dog and cat. This may seem like friendly chit chat to her but to me it was very much and over share that felt uncomfortable, she should stick to small talk about the weather or what have you.Brandi S.

The inside of the truck smelt like someone smoked serval packs of cigarettes. I am also wondering what 19.00 for in town means. The only reason I was at this location was a complete screwup by UHaul. I was rented a van for 930 AM on Saturday which wasn't even available until sometime Sunday. When moving my reservation here I said a 10 ft truck was ok IFF it was the same cost as the van. Got there and my $130 reservation became $440. Upon returning the truck, I was greeted by a U-Haul employee who seemed to be very angry. She was screaming at the driver who pulled in in front of me. Then she directed her anger towards me. She didn't like where I was parking so, in a very loud unprofessional tone she told me to move. She pointed to where she wanted me to park. But when I attempted to follow directions she said never mind, just leave it there. I told her the truck needed to be backed up in order to be driven to where she wanted it but she started yelling again. Ironically, when one of the employees tried to move the truck without backing it up and realigning the approach, they ran into a big poll that was like 15 feet away. I told the angry female U-Haul employee the truck needed to be backed up but she was too busy yelling at everyone to listen. It that moment, I wanted to go in and tell her, I told you so. Hopefully U-Haul views the security camera. The damage to their truck could have been avoided if their employee wasn't yelling at everyone.Laurence U.

UHaul now gives you trucks that are â€œ5/8â€ full - except there is no actual 5/8 marker. I picked up my truck and noticed it was slightly over 1/2 full. I drove a total of 18 miles and put in 5.5 gallons of gas before returning it. â€œNickâ€ said it wasn't returned at â€œ5/8â€. Despite showing him the gas receipt and knowing the mileage, he still charged me over $11 for two gallons of gas. I really felt it was dishonest. I won't rent from them again and definitely would not recommend them to others.Nalani A.

Very inconvenient location, hard to load in and out of room. Had to leave vehicle unsecured and walk up and down stairs to put stuff in the storage room. Parking is not close to units. No light in storage room, had to used flashlight on phone. Bolts were sticking out of the door, they tore through two of my shirts and scratched my back. There are people living in the storage units. Definitely a sketchy area. Much nicer storage units for less money in the area. The size of the units are not as stated. They have low points and odd shapes making it impossible to get some items in them. If I rent a 15 foot truck you should have a unit to fit that cubic feet inside a unit. The stairs to the unit went up about 9 steps. The hall then went about 5 steps forward, then down 3 steps. Then forward about 6 feet, then back up 3 steps. That hall is treacherous especially for someone with mobility issues carrying heavy household objects. My reservation for for a ground floor unit. I was issued a different unit by the clerk, so they do not appear to be able to read a reservation. They one thing they did right was be polite and issue 2 small units free to make up the difference. It was very difficult to access the facility because their is only one street side access point and it was in use by someone. I had to wait for them to unload. I had to nose out into 4 lane traffic to back in. Dangerous. There was a rat poison bait box inside one of the units. Is my stuff safe from infestation?David S. | First Impressions

With the exception of one staff member, everyone there was very helpful, supportive, and hospitable. There was a gentleman working outside (I think he was checking in returned vehicles and overseeing the lot) who I felt was condescending and made me feel stupid. The friendly people at the counter directed me outside after finishing payment and registration, and told me my truck number. I had my key, and went out to find it. I (wrongfully) assumed that my truck would logically not be one of the blocked in trucks in the lot, seeing as how I had just paid and was ready to leave to start my move. I couldn't find my truck, since I was just checking the front row of them. In my mind, why would I get a truck key for a truck that I couldn't get out of the lot? The trucks were parked in about a 6 x 3 setup. Mine happened to be a truck trapped in the middle of them. I tried to get assistance from this male staff member who was outside, and without even looking up from what he was doing, told me it was right there, and he seemed frustrated that I was so inept and couldn't complete the simple task of finding my own truck. He obviously didn't feel like being much help, so I looked harder. It was then that I found my truck, blocked in, in the middle of this rectangle of trucks. How does it make sense that my truck would be trapped in by the others? You just gave me the key expecting me to pull off of the lot. And this guy was making me feel dumb for not being able to find it? There was a family also searching for their truck as I finally found mine. This male staff member seemed oblivious and/or apathetic to both the plight of this family as well as my own struggles. I got into my trapped-in truck, as this lost family realized that their truck was the one blocking mine in. I don't blame them for this issue though. That male staff member should have cared and been perceptive enough to realize that it was taking an inappropriately long time for two sets of customers to find their rigs, and came over to help us. Even if he thought we were idiots, you're in a customer service business. After getting my truck out of that puzzle-box, I pulled it around to the loading area. I should also mention that this was the same guy who escorted me to my new storage space. En route on foot, he asked me which unit we was mine. I didn't know. He commented on how it made him worry that (or something along those lines) I didn't even know what number unit I had. Sir, I had JUST paid. For a unit that I only signed up for because your associates had offered me a free first month if I did. Ok, I agree, I should know what unit I had just rented. But you didn't know either, and you were the staff member ESCORTING me to that very unit. You didn't know either, and I felt it was very inappropriate for you to have commented on that to me. If I'm a customer, and I'm not doing harm, you don't let those opinions out in a blaze of glory in your attitude towards us. It made me feel bad and not want to work with you anymore. Overall, my uhaul experience this time was pleasant, and I was really happy to have those services available in my community. My experience with this one staff member shouldn't inhibit other people from patronizing this uhaul's services. I wasn't even going to say anything, but Uhaul just emailed me and asked me to fill out a survey about my experience. So, I'm just trying to be honest. I would definitely use this specific Uhaul facility again. I'll just stay away from this one grumpy guy. Maybe he was having a bad day or something, but I'm already stressed out from the move.
