If you really love what's in your storage unit, do not use this storage facility. U-Haul of Othello Station facility at 6403 MLK JR WAY S EVER!! It's 24hr access to criminals. Several of us including myself storage units were ROBBED of all our belongings.There is no security at this location. John Stevens, the General Manager, is unprofessional and irresponsible. He actually let's the homeless sleep, and come and go as they please. he seems very shady. Some of the workers at the front desk are very confrontational and unprofessional as well. I have never experienced anything like this in my whole life. WOW!! I was told by two men working at the facility, that it was an inside Job for sure, because my lock was not damaged, it was LOCKED BACK after merchandise was stolen. A thief that was curtious enough to lock my storage back up for me. Note: no one has a copy of my keys, but me. What's so ironic is that i found some of my belongings in an storage locker behind my storage with no lock on it. I lifted up the door and what do you know. Some of my things. Crazy, right? The worst part of this is my daughter's ERN along with her ASHES, were inside one of the boxes that were stolen. Who ever did this, I want you to know that this really hurts 😭 You can have anything material of mine, but please bring back my daughter's ERN. That's all I have left of her. I made my reservation for a location one mile away from my home, and at the last minute U-Haul switched my location to a new one almost eight miles away. The new U-Haul location itself was fineâ€”but it meant driving additional miles (which I had to pay for) and using additional gas (which I had to pay to replace). When I asked the Regional Office if any of those additional charges could be reimbursedâ€”I'd specifically picked my original location for its closeness, and had it confirmed online before U-Haul changed the location on meâ€”I was told that my reservation wasn't guaranteed and that nothing could be done about it. I am VERY dissatisfied with the entire experience with Uhaul and will go out of my way to avoid using this company in the future. I made my reservation on Aug 8th for a Sept 2 move from Seattle to Bellingham. When I got to the original facility which was at a different location in Seattle and 1.5 miles from my storage facility, I was told that they did not have the truck I rented and that my reservation had been moved to the next day and the pick up location is at SeaTac. I had made arrangements to have help moving on Sept 2, not Sept 3rd. After expressing my complete frustration, I was told that my reservation was not actually a reservation but a "request". Really? and how is a person supposed to plan their move around that? I was eventually transferred to a location that was 1 hour round trip away from where I was which ultimately put my in Friday afternoon rush hour and put me 3 hours behind schedule. The staff at the Othello location were dismissive and rude. I was repeated told "this is the busiest moving weekend of the year and it is what it is". I have never in my life been so insulted and abused by a business in my life. I arrived for my reservation and there was a line of people waiting outside. No one was tending the store. The other customers told me they'd been waiting for 5-10 minutes so I called the general manager's number listed on the store's entry door. GM, John Mattison, answered and I explained that I was there for my reservation. He then YELLED at me over the phone saying he was on the lot and to "be patient! Jesus FU$%ing Christ!". The waiting group and I looked out to the lot and saw the same manager smoking with another colleague sitting in the back of a truck. He came quickly to the store entrance where he loudly reprimanded me again for calling instead of waiting (also in front of others waiting). I quickly apologized but told him that I didn't appreciate the poor language spoken to me. John Mattison then became inflamed and shouted, "Oh F@$# you B!$@#! I'm canceling your reservation! Get out of my F@$#ing store!" This rental reservation was for a work event I was hosting, and it was the 2nd reservation in 2-days at this location. The day prior he served me and was decent. Day-2 he was unhinged and wild as if he were on drugs. What is worse is that he kept screaming at me and cursing, but no one else working in the store stepped in to calm the situation. Instead, they all looked away from me as if this manager would kill them if they dared to intervene. 😡 Not even the other customers stepped in to help as if they KNEW he was like this and did not want to get on his bad side too. This experience at the Rainier Ave S., Seattle, WA U-Haul store was so awful that it took me 6 days to calm down before leaving this review. I am still stunned by the brutality of this person, and cannot understand how he, John Mattison, is a store manager, or how this store is even in business. After posting this experience on Next Door, I received a flood of responses stating that many other neighbors have also been "banned" from the same store. Sounds like a solid business model...hmm? Lastly, I will not stop until this man is gone from this store, as he is scary and dangerous, and should NOT be working with people. What if my children were with me? They would have nightmares for weeks about a neck-tattooed meth-head man charging their mom, yelling at her to get the F#$% out of "his" store. I came to get my stuff out of storage with movers on 7.26. There was a different lock on my storage. There were no notes in the account and I was told it was because I had a different lock on it. The lock that was given to me did not fit on the storage so one of your workers, Rob sold me a lock. I had to have a worker drill the lock off while my movers were waiting. I had reserved my U-Haul at the Interbay location in Seattle, but upon arrival I was told that the did not have a truck for me and the reservation had been changed to another location further away in Othello. This took an extra 3hours out of our day trying to get to and from Othello due to travel times and U-Hauls mistake. Now I am being charged extra for U-Haul's mistake. I was never informed that my reservation location was changed. I did not get a call, text, or email about this. I should be charged for 20miles less than what is on the receipt because that was not my decision to switch the location to a much further area. If I had known the location was switched to Othello, I would have used another company and cancelled my reservation. This was massively frustrating and inconvenient on an already long day. I will not be recommending U-Haul to anyone I know based on this experience alone. To remedy this, U-Haul will reduce my cost by the difference in mileage from the Interbay location to the Othello location and back, which doesn't even account for time/energy lost on this interaction. The problem is with the central office, not the Othello Station. After receiving a call back from a scheduler and agreeing on specifics, I received an email confirming my reservation. When I showed up at the Othello Station to pick up my truck, they did not have one in the size I reserved but offered me one six feet shorter. I had to wait quite a while to talk on speakerphone to someone from the central U-Haul office, who scolded me and raised her voice, arguing that I had a truck request, not a reservation, and that I was read a disclaimer stating this when I reserved it. That was not the case, and my email stated that I had a reservation. I ended up paying laborers extra time to make multiple trips because we had a small truck. The Othello Station employees were wonderful to work with and very supportive, but they could not do much about it. When I told the movers about the problem, they said that U-Haul is the worst for this kind of thing and any other truck company is better to go with: Ryder, Penske, even Dolly.Rose G.

Location as okay, however many things were wrong and still are! 1) I did the self check in thing but the person working just ran in and gave me a key, but didn't completely check me out. So when I went to return the truck after hours the app did not give me an option to return, I had to sit on hold for 30 minutes in an empty/sketchy parking lot. (Person in the phone was very Helpful though) 2) I paid for the appliance Dolly, but it was not in there. I had to run back and ask for it. 3) since the check out process was broken since I wasn't checked in correctly , I got the invoice the next day which has an extra charge I didn't ask for for â€œsafe moverâ€ insurance. So again I had to wait on hold just go get this credit back 4) now a week later I get a text saying I have unpaid invoice. But I already paid. But it it saying I owe still. But when I get to the link it says I have a credit. So now I don't know what is going on or if uhaul thinks I owe money or how to get the refund I am owed backJohn C.

We used a cargo van, the guy assisting us was great, but I am extremely dissatisfied with the online booking situation. Had multiple issues with the rental vehicles from your company. First vehicle had a broken gas line had to return it unload it into another vehicle. Second vehicle would not drive straight it had a crooked front wheel turned right by itself had to return it unload to another vehicle. Third vehicle kept getting warning lights on the dashboard twice the vehicle would overrev requiring us to pull over and stop the oil pressure gage would peg out when I checked the oil it was sludge had to add oil twice along the way.
