Everything was fine until the catalytic converter on my truck was stolen. I lost all confidence in the security of the facility and had to move out. First when I started the truck I got a warning that left rear tire was low. Than when I checked in after hours the GPS for the locator I was having trouble to do the procedure. I went home to try and do it on my laptop but I needed pictures of the cab and exterior of the vehicle. try calling the following day and was waiting on the 1 hour. Modify your after hours drop off process. Not everyone has a smart phone or data plans to complete the process. In addition, it is too lengthy and intrusive to have site ask for my location. And charging $20 for not using it is shady.DAMON OTTO C.

Although the box was stored safely, picking up the box was a hassle. I called many times to ask when I could come. Nobody EVER answered the phone and the machine was a loop. It told you to go to the website for all your questions. The website has NO WHERE to request a pick up time to get your box or leave a message. The machine has NO WHERE to leave a message. I tried to call for a few days only to be stuck in this loop. So I just went there to pick up my box understanding I may have to wait while they get it. Well, when I got there I was told I couldn't get my stuff as I needed to give them 24 hour notice. I told them of the phone situation, was said they were outside, just got in and there must be an issue with the machine at the corporate level. I was told they needed the time because they share the equipment with other U-hauls in the area and the box was at the warehouse and they didn't have a way to get it. They made NO EFFORT to try to help. No phone call, no empathy, no apology, nothing. Just a lot of excuses as to why we couldn't get it today. There were 2 woman at the desk (1 was the owner) and 1 man sitting in a corner. No one was wearing a mask, which I thought was fine, just noticed because it was different, there was no mask sign on the door. I accepted this and again spoke about the phone issue, no comment, again no empathy. My brother who was with me was furious so I told him to go outside. I was calm and nice. So, the next day we came to get the box. I went in alone, without my mask. I was immediately told to put on my mask, which I did no problem. I said, "oh, I was just confused because yesterday no one had a mask on", I was told curtly, "we all had masks on." huh?? Now maybe it was because they just came in, but no one had one on when I was there. So, they tell me to just drive through the gate out front to the end. Huh? I was told it was at a warehouse and we'd have to follow them there. Nope, we just drove through the lot to the back where the boxes were stored. There was a young man there to meet us and set up. I then asked him if they had there own equipment there at all times to pull out the boxes and he said YES. huh? So I was lied to straight to my face. This was when I got angry. The young man cut himself, so one of the woman from the front drove down to help. I told her that he said the equipment was always there, then she said, "yes but we always have to have 2 people at the front". Huh? There were 3 people there yesterday. The owner just didn't want to help us. period. It was a power move, all she had to do was have her guy get our box out, but she wouldn't do it or even FAKE trying to help. . Then, she lied right to my face with this "sharing equipment" stuff. We got home to realize she didn't secure the pin in the stand and it dragged all the way home and broke. I called, they said to just call the roadside when it was time to bring it back. I said fine, but ask for an email confirming that I called immediately about this, nope, can't send an email. So I took a picture and drove it back there for initials. Since I'd already been lied to, there was no trust that I wouldn't be blamed for this. I was still calm and nice. I don't like writing a bad review, but I hate being lied to. Everything else I would have just forgotten, but don't just lie to me. Anyway, I will not use U-haul in the future.KATHRYN MARIE M.

The 15 foot truck we rented needs some work done on the engine. It was as though the transmission needs to be repaired. Also, the passenger side corner of Mom's Attic has a leak which we know because it rained. Fortunately we did not use that area but if someone did use it, everything would be soaked.Cathy C.

Absolutely no customer service. Nothing was sanitized. Charging for insurance now which was NOT told to me when I called. The check in and out process is ridiculously long and you have to do it yourself or they charge you an extra $20. The truck sounded like it was going to fall apart. There were several times after a snow plow, up to a week that I’d have to tell the management to make sure they close the gates. Not only that but they keep raising the rates every year. The online reservation system is broken. After receiving error that last names must be different, any attempt to change it resulted in the same error and previous last name returned. Had to sign our completely and start over. Then, because my wife works for a living and cannot answer a verification call immediately, I had to pay movers to sit and wait while multiple attempts were made. Finally, out of desperation I listed my 10 year old child as a contact and he was able to confirm for my reservation. I will never rent from u-haul again and will tell any and all people who need rentals to go somewhere else. Completely ridiculous experience.Chris P.

I am very disappointed that I had reserved a larger unit to include the Climate Controlled environment, which is more expensive! Website states the storage unit will maintain 65-85 degrees all year, while moving in to Unit A14, we have noticed it is very cold inside and our belongings are not being kept warm. I called and reserved a covered space for our camper. When I arrived, Stephanie went through the rules, I signed the contact and then headed back to our space. We then found out it was not covered as we were promised. I went back to the office and she was rude. She said there was nothing she could do and I could not make a complaint. She said she could make a compliant, but all will happen is “they” will review my phone call and discuss is with the person who gave me incorrect information. She could’ve cared less about my problem. I told her I gave a spot at another location for $55 per month because I was told this space was covered, so I was willing to pay the extra $30 per month. She told me I could either cancel the contract or take the spot, that the only options I had. I had no choice at this point to take the spot because we’d already lost our other spot. I am very disappointed. We’ve always used U-Haul in the past and never had a bad experience like this.
