This was the worst uhaul rental experience from start to finish. For starters I never got the online contact they keep referring to when I wanted to know why my credit card was was charged for more $ than what they said originally. Or when the truck broke down 18 miles after I left there store. Contact roadside assistance online it's on the contract . I found a phone number and called . All asociates were busy and someone would call me back. They didn't. Day 2 same thing. Finally I was contacted by a very nice lady from roadside assistance. It took 8 days for Sunset U-Haul to get the truck back from the shop. So finally someone from the store calls me and says"we have the truck back so we can reverse the charges on your credit card .My manager will be calling you shortly. " No call no reversal. This location and uhaul did not inform me that the car trailer i reserved was at a different location until the day i went to check in. Once i got a hold of someone they gave me the incorrect address for the pick up location. They told me i was not allowed to hook the trailer up myself and that i needed to arrive with the uhaul loaded. I did so and when i called the pick up location i got the correct address. When i arrived the worker was the only one there and was no assistance hooking up the trailer. So i had no choice but to Hook it up myself.Andrew K.
The obviously intentional attempted theft by lying about the level of gas in the vehicle should be criminalized. This is the third time I have rented a u haul and the gas level is 1/16 to 1/8 of a tank incorrect. If I didn't catch it this â€œmistakeâ€ it would have cost me 8-10 dollars. We were assisted by a young man who was very new to the job and seemed hesitant to ask his trainer questions. So it took probably 3x as long as it would have normally. But he was trying. So having maybe stronger assistive presence of his trainer would have been helpful as well as the young man being more assertive/confident in asking for help. We were unable to check the trailer in on-line after hours, after multiple attempts. It was resolved next morning. Otherwise, it was fine. The rep gave me the wrong key and the Manager refused to give me good customer service. The manager raised his voice with me by saying, Sir! The vehicle is out there!" They decided they were going to do some construction, whith that being said they said that I could move my stuff to another facility across town and that my rent would go up $15 to $20 for the inconvenience. First, this location is dangerous from the standpoint of homeless and transients. Second, u-haul damaged my possessions and vehicle ($5000) with their equipment and then refused responsibility. As we reviewed the accident on security cameras Management acknowledged the accident and acknowledged their mistake. But when turned over to RepWest (U-hauls insurance based in Phoenix) RepWest refused liability. U-haul refused my access to security camera recording and additionally disallowed employees to communicate with me. The local management is solid but corporate management (Jessica Brooks) is corrupt, dishonest and total lack of integrity. I transferred belongings to West Plains Storage in Airway Heights. I would give the overall experience 5 stars EXCEPT for the TINY elevators that make moving items to the upper floors inconvenient and much harder work than it should be.
