This was my 3rd drop off location and not the one that was written into my contract. For this reason the staff member at the drop off location did not have my truck in their system and had to refuse the drop off, even though I was given this location as my drop off location via email and text from U-haul. I have never had an issue using U-haul, but failure was written into every turn of this contract and I don't know that I will be using U-haul ever again.

First, get someone who speaks fluent english. Second, the vehicle was absolutely disgustingly filthy. The employee at Ultramar was rude right from hello. She sent me to take pictures of the obdometer reading and then sent me back out in the rain for a second time to get the fuel read. This was not translated to me upon pick up. I rent from Uhaul quite often and would definitely NOT recommend this location, nor will I be returning there.

Get a better speaking English person..get rid of broken equipment..very poor customer service..will not use this location ever again..please mean what you say in re to picking up truck..we were told we could pick up vehicle early and vehicle was not returned yet to pick up. .very disappointed overall.

The vehicle was not prepared whatsoever- covered in snow and ice as well as snow and ice INSIDE the box of the truck. The parking lot was not cleared in front of the vehicle which made it difficult to move. Also, was not informed of the photos that needed to be taken PRIOR to leaving the site, so that was completed after leaving. Overall, a horrible experience.

It winter in Canada and -15 degrees Celsius uhaul is unrealistic expecting the vehicle to be 100% clean on the outside and inside. That's how vehicles freeze shut!

The truck was clean, yes, I can't say anything bad about the equipment itself. I was not impressed that everything was expected to be done by me through my cell phone. I do not have internet on my phone but I was expected to download stuff on my phone and install the U-haul app in order to complete the U-haul rental. That is complete crap!!! No one should have to incurr charges on their cell phone just to rent a u-haul truck. On top of that the minute I put the truck into drive the gas mileage reading went to E that is how low the fuel in the truck was!! Considering I rented this U-haul from a gas station there was absolutely NO REASON WHATSOEVER that they couldn't have filled the truck up and expected whoever used it to return it with a full tank or charge them x number of dollars per km fuel mileage to fuel the truck back up. I was terrified I was going to run out of gas 2 blocks from where i picked it up. That is just plain pathetic! The truck was a 2 seat cab and we had 3 people with us to go move a 2 bedroom apartment. Where was the 3rd person supposed to sit? They ended up sitting on a metal tool box that sat in the middle of the drivers and passengers seat in the front of the cab of the truck.No seatbelt mind you however there wasn't one to begin with since there was no seat. I would assume that is my fault because it wasn't meant to have a 3rd person in the cab of the truck! Regardless I was most certainly not happy with my experience!!! I felt rushed and treated like a number not a person. Next time I will find a different location that is for certain!

I would not recommend Uhaul. The fuel gauge sticks causing severe overcharge in refuelling charges. Pictures and receipts sent to Uhaul. Very unsatisfied customers. Going forward, we will look into alternative truck rentals.

As U-Haul is American (miles) and Canada is kilometres once again I am charged in miles (drove 15 km but charged 15 miles or 24 kilometres thus almost overcharged $10). This is an announce as have to keep on the manager to get my refund. Other than that clean and fully fuelled vehicles. Well looked after by the location.

Unit was not clean. French fries on the floor of the cab. Unit was damaged and I had to get the attendant at the rental location to come out and take pictures so I would not get blamed for the damage. Vehicle was rented one week prior to the date required. At 8pm the evening before the rental date, I received a call that the unit was not available due to mechanical issues that were apparently known about at the time of the booking. Apparently the repairs were unable to be completed as hoped. I am not sure why the vehicle would be booked out if it was not in a driveable condition. Getting notification at 8pm the night before that my rental vehicle is no longer available is completely unacceptable. I was offered a cargo van as a replacement and told that someone from head office would be looking into finding me an appropriate sized vehicle for my needs and someone would be in touch with me. I never heard back from anyone. I also started making calls in my area but of course because it was the long weekend at the end of the month before the students go back to school, there was nothing available. I ended up using the cargo van which made my move much harder than it needed to be and ended up taking many more hours than it should have. This was over all a very unacceptable experience and I am very dissatisfied with the experience from start to finish.

They did not have the vehicle we booked as it was out of service because it was broken which was not a problem so they offered us a 15 foot truck, and we were charged the difference, I had also booked a furniture dolly which I stated at pick up and they told me they didn’t have them and I was offered and charged for a regular dolly. Had I had known all of this prior to booking I would have chosen a different location that had what I booked especially since moving is expensive already and the extra costs were not told to me before hand and at that point I had no choice but to accept. The vehicle also was not well maintained and the steering wheel had to be kept at a 45 degree angle to keep the truck straight.

Have a vehicle that has safe breaks. The truck I got had a headlight that was not secured and taped on. The breaks were so bad it was squeaking and grinding and I had to press the brakes hard and all the way down to stop! Box of truck had sand all over the floor!! Staff was awesome but the truck was not!!

The truck rental is a side business to the main business operation of the gas station where there is only one employee serving the regular gas station customers and the truck rental customer, which means the truck rental customer is having to wait while all these other customers are being served, even if you were there first. If I rent from U Haul again, I will have to remember to go to a dedicated U Haul location where their focus is on their U Haul customers.

Derek the attendant there was extremely rude. He made sure to look after everyone else behind me in line. He started with me then abruptly said “I need to help the guy buying lottery tickets first” and then the guy buying gas then the lottery guy again because apparently he won on his scratch and win. I know this because he came back to cash them in. Once three people behind me in line were served before me I had enough and asked him when will you finish with me I cannot wait all day! He said you will just have to wait.

Unit was not cleaned prior to pick up and had cigarette butt's and food in the cab. We had to clean it prior to return to ensure no cleaning fee. They also told us there was a half tank of gas in the paperwork, there was a quarter, and put the kilometers higher in the paperwork then they were on the truck. Not impressed.

At Online check in the request to upload driver’s license had optional so I entered driver license info manually. When I got to pick up was told I had to upload photo so I wasted time entering manually and doing it at check in ( very annoying). Maybe explain better if you can’t upload photo you will HAVE to do it later not this is optional because it is obviously not optional.

I have a receipt for $113.09, but my Visa was charged $146.90. I don’t think the transaction was handled well as there was non stop interruptions serving a constant flow of customers for food and gas as the clerk was the only person doing both them and me. Is anyone going to rectify this? Or do I have to drive 25 minutes to the station to see how I get reimbursed for the overcharged $33.81 my Visa was charged? Walter Bamlett

Firstly it takes ages to pickup or drop-off in general because every person walking in gets treated before you. So every long line, people come in to buy lottery tickets, chips, gas, you have to wait. Then they come back to you for a minute and, oh, there's another customer I have to wait again. Something simple like dropoff took 15 minutes. The guy was charging me for 48 miles driven instead of 48 km and I had to argue with him to fix it. He didn't know what he was doing. Talk to him for one minute, 5 minutes of other customers, talk again for a minute, another 5 of customers. Something that should have taken 2 minutes took almost 20.

Check brakes and transmission more regularly Ensure employee knows contracts well enough to explain terms without constant interuptions from outside vendors such as “skip the dishes” there should be a separate kiosk for rentals that is not being interrupted. Train employees to be computer literate or hire someone who is..this would make the pick up process much quicker.

The van was dirty. The seats had what looked like dog hair. The floors were dirty. The van smelled like marijuana. The vents didn’t work properly for the heat…the heat would only come out by the windshield but atleast it had heat.

We filled the gas tank to the level requested with before and after pictures and was charged an extra 20. The picture was identical. A staff member agreed but her boss who was on the phone argued and I was charged the difference because the original contract said there was a quarter of a tank but the before picture that I was advised to take with the odometer reading did not indicate that.

I picked up 15ft moving truck and when i got home and parked it the passenger door key lock was hanging out . That truck was broken into in the past ..thank god I have camera's in my property. When i looked closer to it . Inside the box needed to be swept out . It was running a little ruff like it the tranny was slipping or the intow was going on and off. The gas bar attendant didnt know what he was doing he called his boss . The boss helped him and said i owed 276.00 but i already paid 153 and change. I refused. I picked up the truck sat afternoon and returned sunday around 5pm . I will never go back to them again.

the wait time to get a van was long and longer when returning it. The fan smelled of manure and leaked water, also had a loud wind leak which made the highway drive less than fun. only 24000kms on the fan and it felt like 400000km van.

The main uhaul computer site seems difficult to use at the location and advised them that my rental was not did not match my drivers license. I have rented previously without these problems . Not sure why this occurs .

I paid 30.00 worth of gas only travelled 10 kilometres spent 30 minutes trying to recoup some money but they refused .when a costumer returns a vehicle they should make sure it’s filled properly. Not by circulating asheet a paper as it does not accureyly mark how full it is it’s a cheer sheet only .I’m so pissed off with the service ten miles 30.00 I’m going to Facebook it till I recoup money lost

When I showed up for my rental I was told that the truck hadn't returned yet and therefore I may not get one. They had five other trucks in there space. I asked if I could have a larger truck and he flat out said no. Then he said well you can have this truck which was a very small truck and I said fine. As I was going to leave he said make sure you're back by 3:00 p.m. and I said well that's not going to work I have a move to do. Well it has to be back by 3:00 p.m. he states. So of course my move did not get finished I had to make three trips because the truck was so small and I didn't even get the dolly that I asked for in order to move several boxes. I was also told when I returned that it has to be clean so not only did I rent a truck I had to clean the truck upon return. I will never rent from U-Haul again I'm absolutely disgusted!
