George NI knew late in the day prior to my rental that I was going to need a trailer so I jumped online and reserved it so the next morning it was ready when I needed it!
VALERIE DI reserved a dolly and when I got there, I was told that there wasn't one available. He told me that I couldn't pick up a dolly at any UHaul location, but the closest location was 30 minutes away down a canyon, and I had very little time to get moved out of my apartment. Other than that, I had a nice conversation with the guy and he was very friendly. He quickly refunded the dolly, and luckily we were able to borrow one from a different business in town. I did not receive the link for verifying the state of the equipment when I picked it up until about an hour after I picked it up, at which point the link had expired. I'm not sure if this was an issue with call service, or if it just wasn't sent out in a timely manner. I wasn't aware that I would be receiving a text either, so I didn't even know to call and say it hadn't come through. I think it makes more sense to have the customer do this verification at the shop.

Jeffrey CI flew into Colorado in order to pick up my 26 foot truck that I reserved and rented. BUT, when I went to UHaul in Estes Park, Colorado, there was NO 26 foot truck for me. I was told to call the 1-800 number, and the UHaul rep on the number HUNG UP ON ME. She did not resolve my issue (that you lied to me and promised me a truck whereas there was NO truck available). THIS IS WRONG. HOW CAN YOU OFFER THIS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE? I FLEW INTO COLORADO IN ORDER TO MOVE MY HOUSE YET THERE WAS NO TRUCK WAITING FOR ME, EVEN THOUGH I HAD RESERVED THE 26 FOOT TRUCK OVER A MONTH PRIOR. The guy running the UHaul place in Estes Park, "Storm" was his name, offered me a 15 foot truck instead, which I had NO CHOICE but to accept. This is WRONG. I used the 15 foot truck BUT NOW I MUST FLY BACK INTO COLORADO IN ORDER TO MOVE THE REST OF MY THINGS THAT DIDN'T FIT INTO THE 15 FOOT TRUCK!!!! How is this ok? How is it ok for me to be required to make TWO SEPARATE UHAUL TRIPS from Colorado to Kansas? The horrible customer rep on the 1-800 number (who hung up on me) said that Estes Park was my "preferred location" but I insisted that there was no "PREFERENCE" there was only a REQUIREMENT that I pick up the truck in Estes Park. YOU CANNOT ACCEPT ONLINE RESERVATIONS FOR A PARTICULAR LOCATION-----THEN AT THE LAST MINUTE TELL THE CUSTOMER THAT THEY MUST GO ELSEWHERE TO PICK UP THE TRUCK!!!!!!!!!! This is WRONG.

Abril BUp Top Towing was great—their employee was incredibly helpful. However I will NEVER recommend U-Haul to anyone. I had reserved a 15’ van for my move and the day before I got a call, was unable to pick up and the message said were calling to confirm your appointment time and location. I then got a text saying 12:30 at up top towing. When I showed up I was informed my reservation was changed for a 10’ truck. I was appalled. The person at up top had no agency to do anything, it was clearly not his fault. The people at the u-haul customer service line could also do nothing—they told me I checked a box acknowledging this, must have been in fine print. I’ve since learned this is common and is simply unacceptable. The 10’ van was not sufficient for my move —hence why I’d reserved a 15’ van. Go with another company.

Timothy OOverall 2 stars (only because the personnel were great) Organization 1 star Personnel 5 stars Pick up drop off loc. 1 star If at all possible, DO NOT rent from U-Haul unless you have all day to pick up the equipment you expect to pick up at the reserved location. U-Haul did not have either piece of equipment (truck or trailer) at the location where I reserved it months in advance. 4 hours AND 110 miles later, I had the equipment. U-Haul does NOT take the effort to get the equipment at the reserved location. U-Haul has relegated the responsibility to the customer to retrieve the equipment. Reserved 15’ truck and tow dolly at Ft. Collins, CO location. Arrived in Ft. Collins the day prior to picking up equipment. Received phone call from U-Haul while at the airport day before picking up equipment. Truck is in Estes Park, CO and Tow Dolly is in Longmont, CO (feel free to do the math). I must use my time to go get the equipment at both locations. Total waste of a day for two people (don’t forget, you need a ride to pick up the truck). U-Haul gave me extra mileage for the truck only but DID NOT reimburse me for my time (my co-driver’s time) or the gas (personal vehicle or truck) used in the 110 mile, 4 hour journey to pick up the equipment (in rush hour). Pick up locations in Estes Park and Longmont looked like a place for junk cars (both locations). Personnel at both locations were great with the person at Longmont providing service over and above to ensure our trip didn’t have issues with the equipment. She stayed after closing time to get me the tow dolly and instructed me on how and what to do. The equipment worked flawlessly (except the tow dolly front wheel straps). Note: Bring lubricant for any rented equipment using straps. Again, the woman sprayed everything on the tow dolly for us as I did not bring anything.

Anthony MIn disbelief that I had to drive over an hour from the Denver area to pick up an enclosed trailer of either 4x8 or 5x8. Then when I got back to Denver , I realized there was a lock on the trailer that I was never provided a key for, a phone call to the facility determined that they too were unbeknownst to a lock ever being on the trailer. Just an all around inconvenient experience.

Wesley SI was double charged for the insurance ($30 instead of $15). Hardly worth the hassle to correct, but likely to influence me if I ever have a choice of rental companies.
Brent BNot open posted hours. No return call. No vehicle walk around before renting. No paper receipt when returned or pick up. Just hear you go and hope all OK.
Paul EThe price I was charged was about $70 more than I was quoted at checkout. I was quoted $256 when I checked out and was charged over $329. I asked multiple clarifying questions to ensure I understood what the final charge would be. I was also told I would receive a credit for 3 packs of unopened blankets and that the credit would be applied to the final bill. No credit was issued.
Greg Bstorm is easy to work with and good at what he does; but twice now, after booking, i get a notice from uhaul saying my rental can't be guaranteed and i would likely have to come down to fort collins. i cancelled the first time. the second time, i called storm and talked to him and he talked me down off the ledge - and i had a good experience.

Chrystal GI needed to extend the time for drop off. The customer service number is very confusing and difficult to make changes. I attempted to do so on the U-haul app; however, I was not able to. Recommend fixing the app.
Shane CThe UHaul online service does no justice to the individual store. There is a discrepancy every time I rent from any local store. This time, UHaul online said there was no 10 ft. truck. The only truck available was 23 ft. so I rented it. In fact, there was a 10 ft available. The local store employee said UHaul had said it would be corrected 2 days previously, which it was not. It is much easier and efficient to work only with the local store.

mike rThe staff was very friendly, even though they seemed busy. The problem I had was my drop off time was either misheard or misunderstood. So the staff at the next Uhaul were expecting a drop off by a certain time, but it was supposed to be PM not AM.
GREGORY HUp-Top Automotive was “renovating,” but for a remote location like Estes Park, it seemed reasonable. Customer service was very good, and I was pleased to find a dealer there.
RUDOLPH BThe gentleman I dealt with was very nice and extremely helpful. I saw that he had quite a full lot and had very limited space to work with. Night time drop off was a little challenging due to limited lighting and I accidentally dropped the key in the wrong box. Overall it was a great experience and I don’t care so much about the condition of the facility, it’s the people who run it that make a difference to me.

Ivan TDespite assurances from U-haul that you would buy back our unused boxes, this location refused to do so. The boxes were unused and in good shape, and we had our receipt.
