The van was on E when I got it. You can see that in the pictures. The van was full of homeless clothes and had a horrid smell. I had to remove the clothes. It was surrounded in an unsafe area where I had to avoid homeless people coming into the truck. I tried calling u haul and when u haul called back they hung up on me. When I returned the truck I could see homeless people sleeping in the other trucks that were returned. How do we go about getting money back from this unsafe and unclean experience?KYLE J.

The front cab had personal belongings of someone in it and there was a broken beer bottle in the back.. It smelt like beer and fortunately I had an empty cardboard box I could lay down in the area that had glass and beer so my things would not get that on them. the person was very friendly and apologetic so that did make up for it. I completed the on-line registration since I was in Pennsylvania and moving my daughter back from Atlanta. When I received the confirmation call from the central U-Haul office, the location that I wanted to use was not available, so I was directed the next closest location, which was a gas station. I should have done more investigatiing and found a U-Haul only dealer location in the area so I could be more confident in the process. When I arrived, I found that the check-in process was very fast as I had completed the on-line form. However, the truck had a cigarette butt and ashes in the cup holder so the odor in the cab was bad. When I got home I found that my final invoice was $70 more than what the gas station manager had quoted. I was able to get it fixed at my local U-Haul dealer.Paul D.

Service was good at the location but my rental pickup location was changed and so was the time (the day of pickup) which led to unneeded stress. This location was not in a good area of Atlanta. In the end I was able to pick up at my original time which was 9:30am but the message I received about the pickup location change stated 1:30pm. This caused me to have to be only the phone with Uhaul 30+ minutes while I was traveling to the pickup location.Sherrill M.

This location made me feel more unsafe than I have in a very long time. It's hard to find the words to describe how bad it was. It was a small gas station with gambling machines inside. There was almost no space to park the truck we had, and there was no option to do an in person drop off (even during business hours), so we were forced to pay the return convenience fee. There were several people (at least 15 or 20) around on the gambling machines and outside the gas station who appeared to be on very serious drugs. I was asked several times for money by the patrons surrounding the gas station. We were also the only UHAUL truck at this location, and it seemed that the person working did not know much about UHAUL. I would never go back here and would not allow anyone I know to go here.There is another UHAUL location within 1 mile that we drove past to get to this location, and it was full of UHAUL trucks and seemed MUCH better. It seems like there is no reason to have this place as a drop off location. It should be removed as a UHAUL location immediately. It is NOT safe.Margaret B.

There were A LOT of U-Haul's in the parking space. I almost parked in front of a business operating outside of a garage in the back and he had to move the truck for me b/c it was so crammed. The gas level did not match what was on the uhaul website therefore when I dropped off the truck they charged me for fuel even though I left the fuel amount at the same level as when I picked it up.LAUREN S.
This was a gas station crammed with uhauls and no one capable of helping. The attendant at the gas station would not help and kept saying I had to contact customer service even though I had all my contract information available and had already checked in. When I had customer service on the line she still refused to help. I ended up going back and forth w/ her and customer service for close to 2 hours before someone showed up who was able to help w/ the rental. My pickup location was changed to this location about 3 days before my pickup. This was in a very bad area of the city and I didn't feel safe standing around waiting for assistance. We witnessed multiple addicts using around the premise of the gas station. When it started to rain many of these same people opened the back of the moving trucks to use as shelter from the weather. In summary I would never use this location again and would never recommend anyone picking up at this location.Daniel J.
Did not have the car tow dolly which was â€œconfirmed and guaranteedâ€ in and email the day before. The lady at the check out counter could not explain what she needed for her to give us the keys despite showing her the confirmation and reservation numbers. Had to sit on the phone with U-Haul customer support for 30 minutes to get her to give us the keys in a convenience store with meth heads playing digital gambling games in the back. Location was not really a 24/7 outlet. U-Haul app said it did not open until 1:30pm but had a 10am reservation. Talked to cashier who had to call manager, who did not pickup. The pick up time was 10:00am on Saturday, July 10th. I went to pick it up, and the gas station manager told me that they weren't involved with the UHaul. After waiting for 23 minutes on hold before speaking to a customer service rep, I was told that the location did not open til 10:00 and that my pickup time would be 1:30, and that they weren't sure why it would say 10a if they weren't open til 1:30pm. I was told I'd be credited back my $50 refund for not having my truck ready when promised, and would like to receive that. Thank youLane B.

In your system, this location does not allow check in until 1:30pm. So, when I got there at 7am (for my originally scheduled time), I could not complete the check in process and there was no one at the location able to help get me my keys. There was someone there, but she was only prepared to give out keys to those who had succesfully completed the online pick up through the app, which I was not allowed to do because the app said that the location did not open until 1:30pm.Phillip W.

The equipment that I rented with my truck was not available, despite having already paid for it. The store was messy and rental of the equipment was not organized. Upon realizing that the materials I ordered were not available, the store representative said there was nothing he could do and told me to call U-haul customer service, who was also then unable to provide me with the equipment I had already paid for and expected at pick-up.Steven F.
Again, our location was changed and it took us 20 miles away from where we requested our drop off. The lady at location, would not let us turn it in without doing it online. She said "Its not my job, its yours" My husband had to drive home, got on line with UHAUL who was very helpful but had to go back to the location. When he got there the 2nd time, a guy was there and was very helpful and told him he would do it. Personnel had no clue and only pointed to drop box. Recent double murder on site plus personnel wearing guns caused concern while trying and trying to get internet reception as get internet reception. Left to do at home but had to return as learned had to be onsite for location sharing but still no internet reception. Stayed on hold several time throughout the day and hung up after long holds and then held on for 59 mins before getting thru to customer service. Online â€˜quick chats' went unanswered. Drove to nearby uhaul company location to learn they could not help and they said they had same problem trying to get thru to customer service as often takes them up to an hour. Horrible location given crime in area, dirty, smelly store and pistol-packing personnel although understandable given crime and homeless (was approached by 3 homeless while sitting in car trying to get internet reception). NEVER GOT INTERNET TO RESPOND and felt uncomfortable continuing to sit there and try. After an hour on hold for customer service then trouble shooting dept they put notes in that truck had been returned. Location is Valero Gas Station, picked up van 10/6/20, 12:48 p.m. returned 10/6/20 2:46 p.m. The odometer read 16039 returned 16067 was charged for 50 miles not 28 miles. Lady operating the station was pleasant but unable to do return, so I had to wait nearly an hour for Mr. Musheer Rashada to come to station for him to do return. To add insult to injury, the lady didn't tell me I had to replace gas, which I could have easily done while waiting for Mr. Rashada since this is a gas station and there are two gas stations one block from this one. I'd recommend for convenience of location and hours. Very hands off otherwise which is fine. Beyond advising me to use the app when I first walked in, there was little more than transaction confirmation after I came back in with a completed online reservation. The man that helped me at the gas station was very nice and helped me find a truck when the correct size wasn't available either. To improve the experience for the next customer you will never ever have anyone pickup or drop off from this location. First I was told to call customer service because they didn't have my reservation. Then after returning 10 minutes later the individual called someone who found my reservation. Incredibly stressful experience as I would have gone elsewhere if the next closet at branch had a truck the size I needed. Of course all this happens when while waiting for convenience store customers. When returning I was asked to wait for several convenience store customers only for the clerk to realize I did online return. - When making a reservation through Uhaul, I did not get much information about next steps. The person who took my reservation also did not let me know I would be picking up from a different location than the one I made a reservation through, so the process was a little confusing. - I had to re-give my credit card information to the Valero employee over the phone, which was a little uncomfortable. My information should have already been on file as I gave it to the person who took my reservation. - The truck we were assigned had been vandalized. They do not seem to keep the trucks locked so people camp out in them and leave trash and cigarettes - They were accommodating and gave us a different truck, which was in much better condition, but was still a little gross in the cargo area.Danielle G.

When I pulled up to get my uhaul, there was a homeless man packing up his bags and moving out of the truck. It looked like he had been living in there overnight. When I opened the back of the truck, there were moving blankets covered in urine and the entire truck smelled like an ashtray. All of my belongings now smell like smoke.
