for the second time in a row, UHaul cheats with the amount of gasoline. when I took the car, the papers indicated more than actual amount. just $10 difference, but still. I have no time to dispute, but it's not fair

The location was great. However, my terrible experience came from uhaul logistics. At checkout I was told I could rent a dolly and when I picked up the truck there was no dolly AND my pickup location did not even offer any. It was a huge inconvenience for me. I should never have been able to checkout a dolly online if my location did not have one. Btw I waited on hold with uhaul costumer support for 1 hour. Really not ok. I give the location 3 stars and uhaul 1 star.

I usually use the Bay Street Location. Always a good or excellent experience. Valley gas not that my equipment wasn't working but didn't even bother checking to see if all was good or give a little help at least line me up to connect trailer to my van.

I had contactless pickup setup but has to wait an hour for shop to open up because uhaul was not ready and parked for me to pickup like stated in reservation. Truck and move went great, excellent truck for move. When i dropped off it was very hars for me to contact you to inform i was going to be late to dropoff i hope i wasn't charged extra for that. Thank you for your service.

I rented trailer one day and returned same day and no one in the office they were close ,three days later someone called me and he said when you return to trailer, I told him I did same day ,, he said ooo sorry our mistake , next day I saw my credit information show they charged me three days ...

I needed moving blankets and when I made the reservation on line I requested them. When I got to the location they do not have any blankets ever. Very disappointed.

First, my on line reservation was not displayed in the locations computer. Others were present with the same issue. Counter person reported this often happens. Second I am on the road and I get a text to inspect the vehicle? I open the file and see the current pictures and compare them to the truck rented. The last I did not agree with and noted 2 large chips on the front engine cover. I hit OK and I was asked to upload a picture. I went into my camera and took the picture and tried to return to the app which reported it timed out already. This needs to be fixed, it should be done before I move the truck. Third, your mileage charge is ridiculous and will use Home Depot in the future. Cheaper mileage, short rate fee, military discount.

Could have notified me that there is now moving equipment at the site before I got there. Made the whole move much harder and longer. I'll use a different service next time. Never again!

just isnt a lot of parking, no boxes or packing supplies like at most uhaul places i have been to. i needed a small and medium box after going through the ones i bought last week but was disappointed to see they didnt have any or if they did they didnt ask me if i needed them

I would pick up at a different location as the staff is far from friendly. Had the truck booked for a week and was scheduled for a different location and some reason referred to this one on Amboy. I have rented a few trailers and trucks with this being the worst experience. Wouldn't recommend this location for pick up or drop off. Uhaul probably will loose some customers having them representing the company for rentals. Hand dolly for appliances was dirty and left two black marks down a flight of stairs in my old house due to grease on the belts. Dirty inside the 15 footer bed. If your looking to damage your house and have staff be rude and disrespectful then this is your place. If Uhaul rescheduled my location to this one again I would have rented from another company..Moving is a stressful and aggravating process in itself so a pleasant customer service experience goes a long way

I will not recommend uhaul cause you sent me a bill and the next day charged me an extra $43 more and never sent me a receipt on why u charged me more and now I hv to call and get a refund.

this location was great. my issue is that u-haul changed my "preferred" location from new jersey (where I needed it) to this location in staten island, ny! the reason I did not prefer this location is due to the fact that it was 20 miles further for me to drive, costing me more money in miles. also an extra 1 hour lost. not only the miles but, $15 to go across the Verrazano bridge with my vehicle to get to the facility but, $42 to return with the rental truck! THANKS UHAUL! You screwed me. maybe when you change a customers rental location, instead of the subject line on the email should say "change in location for your rental" instead of "confirmation". give your customer the heads up. I never would have choose that location. and not to mention being hung up on by 2 rude phone reps! I was very happy with the people from Valley Gas, but, NOT PLEASED WITH THIS U-HAUL EXPERIENCE!!!!!

After receiving an e-mail confirmation that the equipment was ready and available in Jersey City the evening prior to my scheduled pick up, as reserved, just prior (+/- 1 hour) to my scheduled pick up, the JC facility called me to tell me she did not have the equipment and reluctantly referred me to the customer service 800 number. I now understand why she was so reluctant to send me to UHaul's customer service line. This was the only UHaul rep that was really helpful. Only after over an hour of being passed from one customer service rep to another, did they locate the reserved equipment more than 25 miles away in Staten Island. The Staten Island facility pointed me to the trailer expecting me to hook it up to my vehicle. Only after telling them I am unfamiliar with the equipment and the best practices for a safe installation, they reluctantly helped out. They did not have a converter to hook up the brakes (seven pin to four pin). They sent me to a near by auto parts store to purchase the converter. They did not have the 24 moving pads as ordered and those they did have were given to me in a wad (neither folded nor in a bag) and filthy. When I requested a credit for the reserved moving pads (for which I was billed) and with respect to which they were unable to provide, they told me that the drop off facility was the proper place to get the credit, notwithstanding the fact that the Staten Island facility was charging me for the pads. Unbelievable, poor service, a rip-off, you should be embarrassed!. Your customer (dis) service 800 system and this place will put you out of business.

Reservation info and phone service needs significant improvement. There was a concern about mileage and the rate, when it could have been easily resolved had a phone rep told me what I found out at pickup location. Once certain mileage (100) is reached, it becomes a flat rate of $125 and then 0.79 a mile. Online info and phone service is TERRIBLE. Especially the unwillingness to help or provide viable options when concerns are expressed by client.
