They are claiming I drove 50 miles. I left the uhaul premises at 9:45am, drove to 148th and se Division to pick up a mattress. Dropped off mattress at my house on 122nd and se division and returned truck at 10:15am.. It is not possible to have driven 50 miles, pick up a mattress and load it, unload it at my house on 122nd and division and straight down 122nd to uhaul place in that short period of time. At the most it was about 8 miles total. Explanation: clerk read the mileage wrong before I departed. If you could do a distance check from 5995 se 122nd to 148th and se division and back to 5995 se 122nd you would have the correct mileage. I called 503-344-1338 to let them know of this discrepancy. Lock box, everyone can't use internet. I can and had trouble trying to access, it wouldn't let me log in and I had people waiting to give me a ride to my car. Should be code we can put in, only thing clerk didn't let me know I had to go on line. I dropped the keys in with a note attached and the gate was open so I parked in in the gate. location closed on Saturdaysdelilah Y.

Uhaul associate should tell someone when there is no 24 hour drop off. This costs me extra mileage, an extra gas charge, I had to drop the trailer and move it by hand to get out of my spot I parked in. Not a very happy person.Alexa-Shyann M.

The cab floor was covered in mud on both the driver and passenger sides. The man working didn't give me a contract or do a walk through inspection of the truck, he just handed me the keys and sent me on my way. After I returned the truck, I got a call from a uhaul rep saying there was no record of the rental and that I just got a free rental. I told him that my bank account was already charged, he said it was being refunded. It was refunded, but the next day, two more charges adding up to more than the original charge were taken out of my bank account! We're still all trying to figure out what happened, but I am very displeased with the horrible service and overcharging of my bank account. I won't be using uhaul again.Amanda T.

Attendant at the pick up location didn't check vehicle before handing it over. Was told that it had a half a tank of gas but after driving for 15 minutes I got a low gas notification and noticed I was driving on empty on a busy Portland street. Steering wheel was sticky. Was not told of the road tax until pick up. And even after dropping off vehicle hours early was charged for extra mileage. Vehicle did the job but was not worth the rates I was charged for. I made a reservation and they didn't even take the cardboard sign out of the window of vehicleLandon C.

I made my reservation for a specific truck well in advance. I was even under the impression that if the specified location that I booked did not have the truck I needed I would receive a $50 voucher? Two days before my move I received a email stating that I would have to go much farther to pick up the truck I booked. That's strike one. When I arrived promptly at 8am (the time I had requested) the Uhaul clerk (kid) was not in yet. Some mechanic in the back said â€œHe's not in yet, he's probably sleeping. I'll call him nowâ€ Meanwhile. I have movers and workers at my house waiting on me. 820 am is when the kid finally shows up. He starts asking me all the usual questions but I had to interrupt him- Didn't I book this for express pick up? Shouldn't you have all my information already? Strike two. I go get in the Truck now 30 min behind my schedule and I see there is 1/4 tank of gas for me. Strike 3. What a giant pain / inconvience. Not what you want on moving day. There's already enough going on as it is.Tyson D.

The trailer was old, beat up and a little dirty inside including dirt and leaves. It was not in good condition. The handle above the hitch was half broke off, the guy said yeah it's been like that for awhile, it's noted. Well I didn't want to break it completely off so I never used the handle to pull the hitch up, I just lifted the whole hitch arm instead. The guy also didn't connect the trailer for me, which I can do but i wasn't expecting to do it myself upon pickup so I didn't bring any gloves. I connected it with bare hands but then my hands were all super greasy with black grease. Wish I had known I was to hookup the trailer myself I would have brought gloves. Other parts of trailer seem old and rickety. At times I was afraid the thing would fall apart. Uhaul needs to provide better equipment.Jim H.

i would have preferred a trailer I could secure with a lock on the hitch, unhitched as well as when connected. I did not ask for one this time, but I've had them in the past. I had to drive around Portland for two more days after picking up the trailer, but I pulled it then out of concern for its security.mike K.

The general appearance is chaotic and not well cared for (gravel lot, many pools of water, scattered vehicles and parts, etc.) However the employee was helpful.....but generally not a positive image for Uhaul from an appearance perspective.Ric H.

I went to the hogan store to pick up the truck and was told they did not have one there. I had called the hogan store and reserved on Thursday to be picked up Saturday morning at 11:00 I was sent to 3 different stores to find one I did not appreciate the hour in a half set back on getting a truck or had people who were waiting on me.Dan M.

We showed up the time we had the truck reserved online (9:00 AM) and the only person there was a mechanic who had no idea we were coming or what to do. He spent a lot of time trying to get a hold of somebody, but no one else with any experience renting U-Hauls showed up. Meanwhile, we had two movers waiting at our home who we were paying by the hour. The mechanic finally got a hold of someone who talked him through the process. If you're going to allow private businesses to rent-out your equipment, you need to make sure they're ready to provide the same service as your regular locations. This experience was disappointing and ended up costing us more money because of the extra time we had to waste.David A.

Unfortunately I had to pay for a 200 mile overage because the storage facility that was supposed to be one month free with my truck rental did not honor the reservation and I spent two days driving around looking for another storage facility and had to make my one-way trip twicejulia A.

The location was fine and made every effort to assist us. However, this was an overall fail on the part of the UHaul company. The equipment we reserved was not there and was not available within the entire city. This is unacceptable. If we had been informed that there wasn't available equipment when we made our reservation then we wouldn't have lined up people to meet us and planned the entire weekend around it.Rachel M.

I rented a trailer on September 4th returned it September 6th was Billed appropriately for the rental time and then on Friday September 11 I looked at my bank account and realize that I had been billed as if I had not returned the trailer and was billed all the way through September 11 for $113.70 in additional rental charges when I called company only got voicemail had to call corporate after I called corporate got a hold of value towing company and they went oh oops I didn't realize it is been returned we will take care of the charges off of your account it has causing major inconvenience as it is pulled the money from my debit account and now I have to wait until it is put back so I can make my house payment yes I realize it is in a large amount but I live paycheck to paycheck that is why I chose U-Haul for the value of the services they provide in the future I will still use U-Haul I just will not use this location chose it for the close proximity to my homeJASON M.
This was a brand new Ford Van with 2,000 miles on it. The seats were stained, sticky substance on the steering wheel. So bad, we had to stop and buy some wet ones to clean the steering wheel and other areas of the cab. I was shocked how nasty it was. Usually, when I rent a u-haul the trucks are clean and full with gas.mark L.
Woman at the desk was not familiar with how to complete the online forms & I ended up helping her through despite the fact that I was the customer. She was, however, able to ask other employees & get answers in a timely fashion. They did not ask for a drop off location & only did so after I called ahead to my drop off point & they brought it up asking I make sure the sending facility knew the address for the drop off point. As far as the trailer I rented, they quickly got a hitch installed onto my car & I was on my way in no time.

About 30 miles into my move the truck broke down. I waited for 4 hours in 90+' heat for a service tech to come out and put in a new fuel filter. It was a rural location with no services around for miles. I am 62, I was alone, and I have a heart condition and asthma and it was a nightmare. I expect that if you pay a lot of money to rent a truck it would be in good working condition. Even after the repair, the truck engine was revving and not driving normally. It was not a good experience at all. And there was no compensation for my 4 hour delay in the blistering heat on the side of the road.ROBERT S.

We were not greeted as we walked in office, the person that processed request was so un professional, they need A LOT of customer service training, I will definitely NOT ever go back to that location if it's close to my home.
