The folks working at the location in town where the truck was picked up were phenomenal, helpful and friendly locals.. I wish I could say the same about UHaul â€œcustomer service representativesâ€ I was told One thing and then another. I was in a difficult move, with my home being sold, and my new home not closing on time, having to use the truck longer, and not knowing the exact date when I could return the truck.. I was told this would not be an issue, â€œjust to let them know how long I would need itâ€ once the initial rental days were up, when I â€œcalled to let them knowâ€ that I needed it longer than expected, I was chastised by some faceless middle manager with an obvious power trip in his UHaul world.. I was told to offload the truck and bring it back, that I needed to figure it out.. was threatened with exorbitant daily fees on top of the fees I was already paying, and told that another customer needed the truck, even though I was told â€œ no problemâ€ just let us know...would never have went this route if I wasn't told it would not be an issue to keep the truck, and extend the rental days.. All UHaul did was add stress to an already stressful time.. Thanks UHaul...John C.

When I rented trailer I was told I would be able to return to location in Big Bear City or Big Bear Lake- there are 3 locations in Big Bear. After I rented trailer I was told I had to return in Running Springs- a 45 minute drive down the hill from Big Bear. I call- was placed on hold- told I would have to contact facilities and try and work something out...My response- so you are telling me I have to do your job- when I contracted for drop-off in Big Bear. Not terribly happy with this situation. When I contract with a company I expect the terms of the contract will be honored. I paid a premium for Big Bear drop-off--and was told no reduction in price -even if I returned to Costa Mesa pick-up site.William M.

The mobile check out should not be available here. Our phones didn't have service so we had to drive around to find service, then check out the truck from there, then drive back to get the keys and the truck. The representative had no idea what to do about it.Gregory H.

Location was a liquor store. Only one person working, who had to stop my transaction multiple (10 or more)times to ring up other customers. Person was having problems with the computer system, had to call someone on the phone to help her finish the transaction. Once that was done, I was told that there was a trailer out in the back. No one there to help me get it on my truck or ensure that setup was ok. Did not have the connector for tail lights.BILLY J.

It took forever for Uhaul to answer the store owner on the phone.Doyle M.
Running Springs was excellent but I have a major complaint. I wish I can rate the origination of my rental for corrective action. I would give a negative rating. I reserved a trailer on-line and then was notified to go another town to pick up. When I arrived to my new location they informed me that they could not allow me to take the trailer due to it being local use only. Then they said I could pick a trailer up in Running Springs; I hate driving mountain roads and especially towing a trailer. I felt I had no choice and had to run up the mountain and get the trailer or my plans would be destroyed. The best Uhaul offered to me was $50; I felt this was insufficient for activities I had to do to rectify Uhaul's mistake. Please reference Running Springs on a map and then look at my original contracted pickup was Grand Terrace. Uhaul then informed me to go to San Bernardino and then ultimately Running Springs. I am not happy to only receive a $50 discount for Uhaul's oversight.Robert W.

I had to wait for someone to drop off the vehicle when I was finished. When you're tired it seems like forever even though it was only 10 minutes. The person at the store did offer me a cold water which was appreciated.TERRI J.
It's a mountain shop so they offer limited equipment, but it was what I needed and I'm thankful for that . It was very very convenient .Phyllis H.
I rented the 10 foot van and brought it back within 4 hours. Your sales person answered all my questions very friendly and was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately uhaul does not have a rate for a few hours so I pay for 24 hour rental even though after 4 hrs of use you will rent that same unit to another person for the same $19.99 plus mileage. My mileage was under 40 miles. I know now to shop around for other more economical options for all my future needs . No discount for AAA members or anything but military. Discouraging because service and product was fantastic.Deborah H.
I received a confirmation call on Saturday about a trailer pick up in San Bernardino California. Sunday I attempted to pick up and my rental was not ready. They send me off to about an hour away because that is the only trailer available. I missed the my appointment due to lack of communication from Uhaul personnel. Bad service. Over priced. There was a nice young lady there who helped me. When we went to hook up the 5' x 8' trailer to my vehicle, it wouldn't fit over my 2" ball. Because the plaque on the trailer said "fits 1-7/8, 2 and 2-1/8 balls," we didn't know what to do. There was no one there to help. I had been forced to pick up this trailer at this liquor store "outpost" vs. where I had wanted to at a true U-Haul facility in Redlands, so I was pretty upset that now U-haul couldn't help. I "dialed-a-friend" who just happened to be home. He drove over, tried to attach the trailer with no result, then had to change my ball to a 1-7/8." Voila, we got it attached. And, though I originally wanted a U-Box, but had to reduce my load to a heavier 5' x 8', I purposely asked if the trailer had surge brakes. The representative had told me "all of our trailers have surge brakes." NOPE, no surge brake. That put my vehicle way beyond its recommended towing maximum. When I called U-haul to express my frustration, I was told a supervisory customer service agent would call me back within 24 hours. No one ever contacted me. Don't trust "outpost" locations, and don't trust U-haul to live up to their promises.Marie C.

The rent for the truck was just under $20. I had it for two hours and drove 14 miles and ended up having to pay $61, and even than I had to argue the clerk down from trying to charge me for over three gallons of gas(the gauge read about 3/4 full when I picked up the vehicle and I could see almost no difference when I returned it).I am only thankful I did not take the insurance coverage for damage to the roof of the truck! The experience was especially galling as I originally just wanted to rent a trailer but was finally put off doing so by the need to give more information about my van than I was able to provide at the moment.don O.

We did not get a receipt the first time we were charged because the printer was broken. When we went to drop it off they charged us a 2nd time and said to call Uhaul if we have a problem. Customer service is non-existent at this location. The girl clearly didn't care that their business charged us twice. Holding for Uhaul has been a massive pain as well.Ryan M.
