Darrell MI am completely unhappy with the entire rental. This person not only threatened me but bragged about threatening someone else for giving a 1 on the review. He also bragged that a man dropped his car and the transport at his location while unloading at his house and he had the mans car towed. My son witnessed all of this. My son is 47 years old and witnessed his also selling me the two insurances and saying that they would cover any accident. It was the Safe Tow and Safe Move. There is no description of these on the contract copies I have. The only thing that mentions the insurance is a line on the total under the rental charges. He said and I quote "These insurances will cover any accident and even a minor accident with U-Haul could cost $10,000. So I purchased this and then had a slight accident which now you are telling me these are only roll over. I have been lied to and have witnesses. Also the truck had some major issues as the accelerator peddle stuck twice causing the vehicle engine to wine out loudly as though you put it in neutral. My daughter witnessed this. I also at a 4 way stop had the accelerator stick and even with the brake held the vehicle was accelerating and moving me into the intersection. Then I was told by my son in-law when he followed me that the lights on the rear of the truck did not work. As for the auto transport when we loaded my car on it and began to strap it down a bolt fell out of the ratchet gear to tie this down. I was lied to also about his telling me I would have to go to Donaldsonville, La to pick up the auto transport which would have been 45 miles from my house and at least 70 miles from his location. When I complained that my reservation was three weeks prior and they should have had time to get the equipment to the place I originally set up. He miraculously called me 10 minutes later that he had picked up the auto transport. I reserved a furniture dolly and a 2 wheel cart of which no one provided. I will not use U-Haul again and have already contacted a friend who is an attorney about this and how I was lied to and not given a proper description of the insurance or I would have not purchased this and just went with my own insurance. He should not be allowed to even rent these out because he did nothing but trash U-Haul and then threaten to come to Michigan if I gave him a 1 star. I believe this accident is due to the poor maintenance of this vehicle and the fact that I was sold a lie.

Valerie Dthe driver's side mirror would not stay in position. the set screw needs to be tightened. there was no windshield washer fluid and the windshield was very dirty. I did check in by the app and after doing all the steps it said to go inside and get the key. the place was locked. no way to get inside. There was a number to call and she told me the app was supposed to tell me the box and code to open it to get the key. She helped me get it. At turn in I took all the pictures but it never stopped spinning as if it never registered. I finally gave up and left the truck. keys in drop box as she told me to do.

Joan CThey charged me a cleaning fee on items that were left from the previous customer. There was a water bottle and comb in the truck when I picked it. I left it there upon return since it was already there and I get charged a $25 cleaning fee.

victoria hI wanted a one way trip. The lady called me and told me it would be cheaper to do a round trip. I explained to her it would not be and she insisted that it would. I ordered a guaranteed 20 foot uhaul with the $50 money back. She called and told us that her 20 foot uhaul was out of service and she would put us in a 17 foot. Not too happy because we only wanted to make one trip, but since that is all she had we had to take it. Got to the office this morning and it was suppose to be self service. It was not. The uhaul was not ready when we arrived. She was very rude and had a horrible attitude. Then to find out that space was taken up in the uhaul because she had zipped tied moving blankets and a dolly. We asked her to remove them and she refused. Come to find out no $50 back and the uhaul cost way more than expected. Will let everyone know not to deal with her because of her rude attitude towards her customers.

patricia tI will take responsibility for not cleaning the back of the truck upon return. I find that this company is predatory and intentional for overcharging. I put gas back in the truck; however, the clerk stated we did not put the gas back where it was because she said you have to sit up straight and view the gas indicator. As a result, I was charged a convenience fee of $30.00 and $11.25 an estimated fee for gas. The amount of the estimation indicates that the gas indicator was where it should have been. The amount I paid for the gas was $20.00. I live a mile away from the business. I paid a total an extra $41.25 for gas.

Marc DReservation was not posted on the board for 24/7 pickup.Had to call customer service and they called location and woke lady up to add my reservation to board. Tried to do 24/7 pickup online but when got to personal reference verification had to wait over 20minutes and never got through. So lady went ahead and did regular rental checkout and skipped 24/7 process. It wasted my time to start moving. I planned to pick up truck at 7am and start moving by 7:30am but because of communication breakdown I didnt get started till 10am. Need to get 24/7 process set up better so there is no delays for the customer.

NIck LI called ahead and asked if I could pick up the truck between 2-3pm and if the rental was for 24 hours. I was told YES. I arrived at 3:37pm. The manager was helping someone else. By the time I was assisted and did the walk around on the truck it was 2:59pm. I asked if 3pm the next day was the return time. The manager told me NO 2pm. I proceeded to tell her it was 3pm now and she said it didn’t matter that my time started at 2pm. I tried to explain that I was moving from a 35 minute drive away and only had help for the next day from 10-3pm to get the big furniture. She said I can give you until 2:15pm but that’s it. I have rented uhaul trucks for other moves in the past and never had this happen before. I was very upset over it. When I returned the truck no one was in the office. I rang the doorbell, called and got voicemail several times and my daughter was finally able to get the return completed on the app. I liked the location of this place but I will definitely never rent anything from this place again. I will let all my friends and family know as well. It’s hard enough that I’m going through a separation from my husband not by my choice, then couldn’t afford to pay movers, on top of having to move a lot by myself as a 52 year old woman but the manager cutting my rental time off by an hour made me unable to get everything out I needed to get.

debra sHonor the quoted price. I got a quote from one U-haul dealer of $107 plus tax. Several hours later on the same day at a different dealer, I was quoted $176 plus tax. When I questioned the price increase, the lady asked me if I had a reservation and I said no but that the previous U-haul dealer told me that she put the quote in the system with my phone number and that any U-haul dealer could just pull up my phone number and see the quote. The lady I was dealing with at Walker South was very rude and told me that there was no quote in the system and that was the price that the system was telling her to quote me. She said if I wanted the trailer that was the price I would have to pay. She said those size trailers were in high demand. I have rented U-haul trailers numerous times and this was the most expensive and unpleasant rental I have ever experienced with U-haul.

Tyler GI had trouble with return check in with my phone. It wouldn’t let me get past location and my phone wouldn’t share the location after I changed setting. I returned the truck on time and left keys in return box. I took a picture of the mileage and gas and will visit location Monday morning. Do not like the lengthy return method. Everything else was good.
lisa TThe owner of that uhaul location couldn’t have been more rude. I work in the service industry and if I treated people like she did I would be fired. If uhaul wouldn’t have screwed up my reservation in the first place which forced me to settle and go to her then I would have left in the first 5 minutes. She was beyond rude and short.
charles hThis location was further from us but had the equipment we needed. We were able to pick up and drop off outside normal hours which was very convenient. The truck had a lot of superficial damage but it was all marked. Truck was clean and in good working order. Very pleased with this experience.
James WThe virtual check in process was a nightmare and almost cost me a great deal if money. The location owner worked with me after seeing that it was truly an issue with the platform. It still cost me about 3 hours worth of time to get it sorted out.
