The cab of the vehicle was muddy and had ashes and had not been cleaned. We were charge a cleaning fee and that was very unfair as the truck was dirty when we picked it up. It was also flat on empty and we had to get gas immediately. We also waited outside for a half hour for assistance and had not information about a code. Finally a girl came by that called her mother and at last someone came to assist us. There were not pads as requested and she acted put out that we wanted that removed from our charges. She suggested that we pick them up somewhere else and by that point it was too late to do so.Brian W.

When you click the address in the email you receive prior to picking up your truck, it takes you to the correct Washee Car Wash. However, both the primary search on Google and the pictures when collecting your vehicle show the incorrect location in Birmingham.Charles C.

I made reservation to pick up at different location and it was changed to this location. I also reserved Friday night pick up time and it was changed to Saturday. It was not explained to me during reservation that I would have to pay miles for the rental. Your reservation process is ridiculous. I've been burned twice and not sure I'll be back should I ever need another truck, van or trailer rental. There's WAY too much competition out there for you all not to have a First class process. Truck not only didn't start, it wasn't ready anyway with the equipment I rented. They wanted to send me to another location instead of just giving me another truck which they did when I asked for it. Took way too long even after pre-checking in. Bunch of yelling amongst themselves. Then tried to tell me there was more gas in the truck than there was. Then continued to argue with me even though she got in the cab to see I was right. Only didn't get a poor rating because check out was relatively pain-free.Mark R.

None of the equipment was loaded. They needed to clean the back of the truck before they could load anything. Waiting on them to set up the truck after I checked-in with the app took about 40 minutes. They did not have a utility at first then found one but the tires were deflated and they were not able to fix it. Also, the inside of the cab was nasty. Stick drink spills everywhere and bits of food on the floor. I rent a uhaul almost every year... I've never experienced this level of dirtiness and disorganization. Also... on my bill, I was charged gas even though I filled it to gas above what it was given to me at.Katherine L.

I was overcharged nearly $50 on moving aids (dollies and furniture pads), both in prices nearly double what was quoted and in items that I neither asked for nor received. Until that's fixed, I can't recommend this location to anyone for any reason. This review will be amended if/when the fraudulent charges are removed.Tim F.

This location needs to be closed. The only person there was a morbidly obese lady who would not help me remove the trailer and whose lot was so crowded with non-uhaul vehicles that there was no room to back the unit into the space she wanted it put. I am a 76 year old with a bad back and could not remove the trailer from my truck alone. I was about to leave and send U haul a note that the trailer was at my house if they wanted to send someone to come get it. Fortunately for me two Uhaul maintenance employees happened to show up to pick up a truck for repair and they helped me remove the trailer from my truck and push it out of the way. The phone numbers listed on the contract would not work. The phone numbers on the website for that location wouldn't work. I spent 1 hour total trying to talk to a person to make the return. The uhaul.com/share wouldn't share my location. There were two other people trying to return in Birmingham frustrated too.Donna N.
This is not the best location to drop off after hours, especially if you are not familiar with the area. The lot is not well-lit and the crime rate for the zip code might make some people feel uncomfortable. That could be solved with better lighting.Eric O.
We arranged moving help through U-Haul. It was Blake's Help out of Birmingham, AL. After speaking with him, texting with him and confirming with him the night before, Blake's Help was a NO SHOW. He would not answer calls or texts and we never heard from him. The move then became impossible. Extremely unprofessional. When we called Uhaul they said that they could not help and to call Moving Help. You cannot call Moving Help so we email and had not heard back. DO NOT USE BLAKE'S HELP IF YOU CAN HELP IT!!!Chrissy D.

Your mobile application is very poor. There is a popup screen at the beginning asking to allow u haul to access mobile location. If one chooses NO as I did it locks up the application and there is no way to reconsider. If you do not provide services without location allowance why do you ask?Al B.

This location was closed when we attempted to drop off the truck. We were informed by a car washer employee to leave the keys in the Uhaul dropbox. We did as instructed, all of this happened on the same day as the incident with pickup. In all we had the truck for about 6 hours. The truck was due back on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 9:00 am. I checked my Uhaul account on Monday at 7:00 am and the reservation was active. I attempted to contact the location at 8:00 am and no answer. I finally got someone at about 8:55 at which time she informed that she had just returned from vacation and was not privy to all of the returns that was on her desk. To make matters worse, the Uhaul system was down and she could not process the return. I spent all morning going back and forth with Uhaul and the Car Wash location. THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTELY WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE I HAVE ENCOUNTERED IN LIFE. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM UHAUL AGAIN AND I WILL ENSURE MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE AWARE OF MY EXPERIENCE.Kim D.

There was no one to make sure the trailer was properly hitched, we were repeatedly given verbally over the phone the wrong side of town. South side and North side are two totally different directions and the person on the phone should know the address. The trailer wasn't properly connected and fell in the road and my husband had to pick the heavy thing up by himself. The person who was supposed to hitch it turned around and left him to do it by himself. He could have been killed in an accident. The trailer was a screeching nightmare, hard to turn around. I called and set up a day and time to pick up a truck. On the phone she said a highland ave location but when I got the email confirmation it said it was off of greensprings. I assumed it just changed and went to the address I got the confirmation to. Upon arrival, I was told that I was supposed to go to highland ave. So I drive all the way there, and mind you not one person has told me the pick up involves going inside a shell gas station, so I passed it multiple times because gps says I've arrived and all I see is a gas station and no signs of U-Haul. Once I finally go in, they say no truck was dropped off and I need to call some other number to figure it out. When I finally get ahold of someone she says they have no more trucks in my preferred size available and only the next size up which was â€˜only 5 or 6 dollars more'. I find it outrageous that even after making and confirming a pick up it wasn't available and someone wanted to charge me EXTRA for a truck I didn't want in the first place. I honestly should've fought for a hefty discount because after a complete mixup with no truck from the confirmation, three different pick up locations, and me being an hour late to my destination, I would say that I will not recommend this service nor do I intend to use it again in the future.mel H.
