Samuel LThe truck was left dirty from previous user but we were warned about it first. They hadn’t gotten to cleaning the floor but that’s fine. The fuse for the dash display kept shorting out so it was hard to see what gear we were in at night. The right windshield wiper kept coming off. I was able to pop it back on 3 times. But it popped off a 4th time in the middle of a downpour on the highway at night and flew away. It was not safe for us to stop and we couldn’t see well enough to pull to the shoulder. We continued on with one wiper and the other scraping against the windshield. Just very grateful that it was the passenger side wiper that went out and not the drivers side!

Raymond SWe dropped off after hours, so there were no personnel present, but the signage was helpful so we were able to complete the drop off process without issue. I do want to share that the RPMs on the truck ramped up when going down hills--this was concerning, but during the check out process using the app, it didn't seem like there was an adequate way to explain this. We got to Newport safely, but hearing the engine rev up when I was using the brakes going down hill was alarming. Overall though, we had a good experience, aside from the chaos of check in and picking up the truck when the server was down.

Tim MI would suggest you start the truck next time before looking at gas gauge, this truck always said under the amount before I started it to continue my trip, then would move up. They were very nice to call me back after hours to let me know how to return keys and where to park when I brought the rental truck back.

Michael SWorst online sign-in experience ever. I showed up a little early for my reservation, but the app refused to accept my location. When I called tech support they told me to close it and use the web page--so you know it doesn't work!!-- but the web page didn't want to find me or keep me signed in either. After 45 minutes trying to stay logged in, because it kept sending me back to the login page over and over, the local guy arrived and tried on his computer. Similar issues, and then the links you sent for photos timed out as soon as I opened them. It was only his blood, sweat, and tears fighting your non-functional online system for ANOTHER 45 minutes that got me a truck and on the road, an hour and a half late. At least the truck didn't break down. The ONLY real positive in this experience was the patient, persistent local guy.

Sasha CI had a horrible time with the app. It took live chat & a phone call to get it done. It kept declining my pictures and the head shot could only be done on the rear camera. Very difficult when checking in alone.
Melissa WLocation is in the center of town which is nice for easily getting onto hwy 20 or hwy 101. Parking is not ideal, so if leaving a car overnight this is not an ideal spot for that, ironically for the same reasons noted above. Locker boxes need maintenance as they are falling apart as if they have been tampered with.
Jennifer EThe U-Haul app was one of the worst I have ever used. We registered ahead of time and checked in via the app as I was told we were supposed to do. However, the driver and I spent 30 minutes trying to get all the information we were asked to supply to your app after we arrived; we had to put in info that we have already entered. The folks at the U-Haul location assured us that most people had trouble with the app. Your app is definitely not user friendly.

DAWN IThe man at Wax On/Wax Off was super friendly and helpful, though he needed to call someone to assist and that person was having phone connectivity issues. I was able to figure out the self check out online myself. I appreciated getting a call several days in advance to notify me that the truck would be there.

rebecca sIt was very hard checking out the truck by my phone. Where is the personal checkin? Took me about 30 minutes. The truck I reserved online was there but when I called the 800# I was told it wasn’t available so had to take a bigger truck. It was still sitting there when I brought the big truck back. I imagine checking in and out this way could cause a lot of frustration for some people. But I got the job done and truck worked great.

David BThe Uhaul trucks were parked bumper to bumper in an “L” shaped alley and some were facing each other. It was very difficult to get the vehicle out of the alley past the other large trucks and around the sharp bend of the alley onto a busy highway. The Uhaul was online check in only and the website said the vehicle number should be on the front right of the vehicle but it wasn’t. It was on the side towards the back. My truck was dirty inside and had sticky stuff on the steering wheel. When I went to turn my truck in, the online website wasn’t operating and was glitching out. I had to drop my keys in the box and call someone the next day to ensure I didn’t get charged anything extra. They were nice enough to check the vehicle in for me.

Kelli PIt was tricky renting online. But still like uhaul for my moving needs. The guys at the Newport site were kind and came out to offer personal help if needed.
Lisa RAfter already completing all paperwork online and having confirmation. And registering on the website. And downloading the App and jumping through all the hoops their with photos, etc-- arrived at the pick-up site and sat in my car in the freezing cold for half an hour because the electronic process didn't work and the phone number connected me to a call center across the country that wasn't able to help. Finally banged on the door of the garage and found a person who, after another half hour, was able to get us a lock box code to get our truck
J KWhen I arrived the person working there wasn't sure of the status of the van and had to call someone to find out. He was very personable and tried his best, but it delayed my pickup even more after it was already delayed from a self-pick-up that was cancelled by U-Haul. I still had to go through the self-pickup process even though there was an attendant there. In addition, as part of the process he handed me his cell phone and asked that I to talk to the U-Haul representative on the phone with him. This made me very uncomfortable because due to concerns over COVID-19.
