Crack on the mirror. It wasn’t in a great area and the only reason I had to go was because the first place couldn’t figure out how to check the truck back in. I lost an hour on my rental let alone none of the Dolly’s or moving pads I paid for.

We reserved a 10 foot truck in advance at a different location. The day before pickup, a U-Haul representative changed our pickup location in order to guarantee that there would be a 10 foot truck available. Less than two hours before pickup another representative called to tell us there were no 10 foot trucks available and we were being changed to a 15 foot truck. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle, there were two 10 foot trucks at the location, which the u haul representative refused to allow us to use.
Mitchell KMy contract was not ended on time by the owner. I have been overcharged for my U haul on miles. I only drove for 30 miles and got charged for 97 miles, it is a blatant robbery on the part of U Haul. Stay away from this location!!!!

Zoe KThis is a convenience store. The staff are not at all set up to deal with the U-Haul side of things. I lost half an hour just waiting for the clerk to get the right guy on the phone to generate the text with the link & then I had to do the whole thing myself on my phone -- why do you need to call my wife as a back-up in case I don't return the truck? That's new & super invasive & seems unnecessary. Meanwhile the truck I got needed an oil change so badly the vehicle couldn't shift gears correctly. WHY DID YOU CLOSE THE DEDICATED LOCATION ON HALSTEAD it was so much better.
James MThe extensive check in process I went through ahead of time to pick up the truck without an attendant was a waste of time—had to do it all again when I arrived. The truck had used moving blankets, a dolly, and some trash from prior customers in the back. There was barely a quarter of a tank of gas in the truck at pickup.

Nicholas Pthe store was great and i rated 5 stars so as not to hurt their rating or standing. next time i need to rent a truck i will be seeking something other than uhaul. the website reservation process didnt work at all, from my phone or my computer. i had to go in to the store and explain what i wanted. and then had to make a phone call to uhaul corporate. i declined the insurance and still got billed for it and had to make another call afterwards to be sure that wouldnt get charged. and its really ridiculous that i rent a truck for "19.95", drive it six whole miles, and with the extra fees cant get out for less than $60 - not including gas or insurance. if you need ro rent a uhaul i would recommend this location. the staff are nice people and the trucks are parked in an easy location. i would not recommend uhaul in general.

CHIMAGNA TMy reservation wasn't finalized until the next night and that was after I had to revisit the rental location in order for them to finalize my reservation and confirm that I returned the truck before scheduled time. I did not enjoy my experience with this location.
CARRETHA WThe service engine light was on and bc I was on a schedule with limited time, I took the truck anyway. Luckily I was able to complete my move. The truck was decent but not completely clean. Inside windshield was not clean & bag of chips (or something else) was on the dash. And finally, this location DOES NOT have counter service. I selected it bc I was picking up during its business hours. But when I arrived I was told to scan the barcode on the poster to do my check in. And when I did, it said I couldn’t do mobile pickup bc I selected counter service. The guy behind the counter said that was the only way to pickup the truck & I lost 30 minutes off my schedule bc of this. He has to call customer service so I could finish the pickup. So counter service REALLY shouldn’t be an option when making a reservation for this location. Is there any compensation that can be provided for this?
Tiffany JHello! I was charged 3 days for the rental, when I had returned back the truck that day itself. It was supposed to be one day rental, but the location charged me for 3 consecutive days. I am highly disappointed for what I had to go through. I won't recommend this location to anyone.

Peter JThis pick-up location was not the original pick-up location I selected when placing my order for a vehicle. This location was further than my original selection and I was not able to edit the pick-up location.
Hugo GThe truck's tank was on empty and the location didn't have the 2 dolly's I requested a week earlier. The owner of the place I picked the truck up at said he had told the customer service rep, Orlando Rios Alicea, multiple times previously that he didn't have the required dolly's, etc but Orlando seemed indifferent and didn't seem to care at all about doing is job well and correctly. So I had to drive to a second location to get the dolly's where I also found out that I hadn't done any of the paperwork, etc I needed to do either. I would definitely not recommend renting a U-Haul from that location or working with Orlando. However, the rep I worked with after my rental was great and I would definitely work with him again. I wish I knew his name so I could give him a positive shout out.
Christopher EIt is very hard to reverse out of the alley. I would have appreciated it if they gave me the key to the truck that allowed me to go straight onto the main street. Otherwise, the truck was in great shape and I didn't have any issues.
Cary BThere was animal excrement left on the back lift. The clerk took my keys and told me that I dont have to do anything else. I checked online the next day -- he still showed my truck as non-returned.
yousun kWindshield was snowed and iced over, not cleaned. Had to clean off truck myself. Wipers iced and stuck on. No back up camera on windshield as is supposed to be on 10’ truck
Raj VPlease make sure to have time to actually tend to your customer, instead of having someone who doesnt know. I was yelled at by the owner of the store because HIS employee decided to give me another vehicle other that the one that was assigned to me which leads me to the second part.. My designated vehicle could not be accessed because it was parked on the sidewalk, and blocked in by residential parking. Gaining access to the truck was worse than actually driving it.

Jerrell JObtaining the keys was a nightmare - it took an hour. the keys were not in the box, but instead with a local grocery store owner. the van was very sandy - sand covered the floor/inside of the van. Frustrating to have it so dirty. Returning the vehicle was mediocre, the app would not register the photos of the odometer. Therefore I needed to have the U-Haul person manually override the system.
Rachel GThe u haul share experience was bad. It takes a lot of time to get approved to drive. The owner of the West Haven Market and Grill holds the keys and when you finally go through the 15 min approval you find no keys in the lock box. The owner asks questions and you have to hand him your phone so that he can check. Overall a very lengthy and tedious experience
