Trailer was parked on a slight hill so when I lifted it to put on my suv it shot forward and hit me and my suv. My suv now has deep scratches and a slight dent. Someone could have been hurt. I'm glad my son was not standing near me as he has previously. You should take some responsibility for how your distributors store the equipment. I'm guessing I have $1500 in damage.Eric H.

The staff was beyond excellent but the truck itself was quite beat up. I took many videos & photos just to protect myself from damage charges. Also, the check engine light was on, I did notify the staff prior to driving off and was told it should be fine (which it was) but I was a bit concerned that something might happen to delay me and I was in a bit of a time constraint.HEIDI G.

According to my reservation (25683426) I was to drop off the truck in Boone. This was very inconvenient. Not to mention I left the truck with an extra half a tank of gas and then got charged $40 because I was over on my allotted mileage!!!Heather T.

Your online reservation system is TERRIBLE. It allowed me to make a reservation and I even got a reservation number for another location but there wasn't actually a truck at that location! If I had not paid attention to the notes where it said there was no availability and if I hadn't called myself to check I would have showed up and had no truck. We only had a limited time, if i hadnt called a local dealer and asked I would have never gotten this truck. It was available for the time that I needed it to be so why didn't that show up In your system. I almost was forced to drive 60 miles out of my way to get a truck because even your customer service person on the phone after searching for almost 30 minutes couldn't even see that this truck was going to be available. For as many years as u-haul has been doing this and as many times as I have used you everything is pretty seamless except for online reservation. There's no excuse for it being so bad even when it's busy. Also You should be more particular about who you allow to have u-haul trucks to rent I had one person you had 1 truck but you could never call the place directly and he never took any information You would call a number and nobody would answer and he would call back from another number and he wouldn't give any direct information he didn't take any of my information he didn't give me a reservation number it was all very sketchy.Angela T.

I have used this site before with no problems, people were some what friendly. Lack of instruction on what my rental truck was. The rental truck it's self was absolutely disgusting. There was a tear in drivers seat. The back smelt like a stock yard. It had been sprayed out but the smell was over powering of manure and there were small bugs that had to be killed before I put my stuff in it. Was told that the last renter was a land scraper by staff member. The cab had empty Gatorade bottles under the seat and spilt dry coffee on dash and cup holders. Windshield looked to have something splattered on the inside. The whole cabin wreaked of cigarettes and there was a nicotine residue film over everything. Cigarette ashes through out cabin. Truck idled incorrectly but drove fine. Very loud sound of air rushing through driver side door post. Did not really seal appropriately. This truck needs to be taken off of lot and cleaned appropriately for next renter. I returned truck the same I received it. Except I did remove empty Gatorade bottles because off possible bottles rolling up under brake pedal and killed insects. Hope this will help for this not to happen to the next renter. In the future I will look to a different rental place and advise friends and colleagues to rent from other Uhaul rental sites and not Wilkes Print & Ship Business Depot. Sad the staff didn't really care to represent their company better.DAVID C.

First off, this is not a bash to NC U-Haul. They were very nice and eager to help with my last minute rental. That being said, I feel the review of the trailers after a rental needs to be addressed. When I received the trailer it has 3 major problems with it that we able to be corrected for but should have been noticed by U-Haul. 1st being the trailer wire harness. You can tell it was dragged on the road during transit and a wire was completely busted. Easy fix but I had to bring it up. This should have been noticed and corrected, because if I wasn't smart enough I wouldnt have checked my trailer lights because the tech was not going to, he was ready to send me on my way. Second was the mud all over the trailer. While filling out the paperwork for the rental, I was told to make sure the trailer is generally clean, just no major mud on the trailer. Rinse it down if it has oil on it, etc. When I got the trialer it was completly covered in mud, looked like it was mud bogged, had mud clumps in the trailer brake master cylinder and tongue, mud all over the ramps, mud caked everywhere in the hinged fender for the trailer. The trailer was cleaner when I dropped it off. And the left ramp retention latch was gummed up and wouldn't spring back up to hold the ramp, you had to push it up by hand, so if someone didn't notice that ramp would become a projectile down the highway. The right side worked properly though. And lastly was how the chains were ground down from the road, along with the hooks for the break away system and brake system did not have the rubber snaps to hold them in place. They should honestly provide zip ties because the only way those hooks fit are too loop into the hole and hook back onto the chain per the U-Haul tech. These trailers need to have better inspections before and after rental. The U-Haul I dropped it off at didn't even bother to look at it either. Also more proper training needs done on it, the NC U-Haul guy didn't seem like he had any training on how a trailer was hooked up either. When he hooked up the trailer chains like I said earlier, he had them about dragging on the ground. So I adjusted them. All stuff U-Haul could have prevented with proper training and inspections. As to why I didn't deny the trailer? I bought a truck 30 minutes prior and I drove my car down from PA to NC by myself, so I had to tow the car back with my new truck back to PA. So I obviously needed a trailer badly and this was their only one and it was getting into the afternoon.ZACHARIAH M.
The actual location, where i finally dropped off the truck was great. It was, however the 5th location i was provided, by UHAUL, including the local area scheduler. The first 4 no longer accepted Uhaul. I spent 1 hour 20 minutes driving around Wilkesboro, NC to find a drop off location. I used over a 1/4 tank of fuel, that Im responsible for.
