I rented a 20' truck and a 5x8 trailer, the trailer was $1000 and the truck was $1300. Crazy over priced and it seems like no one in the Uhaul world cares. And if I hear nothing back from this review, then it will prove that you don't. Steve KlassenSteven K.

The Wizard of Odds location was easy to access and Grace was helpful and nice to deal with. We were originally supposed to pick up our Uhaul from the dealer on 48 Ave. and Riverside Dr. in Red Deer but the guy made up stories and lied to us about the truck we had already scheduled because he didnt want it going on a one way trip. He wants all the larger units to be return trips and will only give the 15' trucks for one ways. This put us two hours behind schedule as the nearest truck of the size we needed was almost an hour drive away. The other Uhaul location in Red Deer, on 67 St., while not having the size of truck we needed that day, were very helpful and I would recommend anyone in the area looking for a truck to go to them and avoid that other character.MATT E.

Grace and her husband at Wizard of Odds were wonderful to deal with. We had a minor mix up on our end and they were very understanding, and happened to be prepared in an event a mix up like ours may happen! A great way to run a business. We had issues with the uhaul app and getting it to work with the 24/7 pick up and drop off feature. This was frustrating but we were very happy with our overall experience.Meagen K.

The overall booking was frustrating. I was initially told by a Uhaul representative in Red Deer, AB that I would not find a 4x8 trailer in central Alberta. I called the Uhaul 1-800 number and booked regardless. I was given a number to call(which was the Calgary office) to confirm my reservation. The representative told me that I would indeed be able to pick up the trailer in red deer....110% guaranteed. The day before my pick up date I received the confirmation call from Uhaul(Calgary) informing me that my pickup location was Ponoka, AB not Red Deer as promised!! What's even more frustrating than not having my promised preferred pickup location was that there was a trailer IN RED DEER on our way to Ponoka. I do not understand how Uhaul manages their bookings. Vendors/ reps need to be well equipped to help customers, not simply ask us to figure things out on our own. Customer service was poor plus getting charged for mileage that I had refuted in the beginning is not cool. If you guys changed my pick up location you guys needed to be accountable for the extra mileage. Overall the process was not the best but I moved my stuff so thanks!Sarah N.

Lots of mud - but understandable considering the snow melt etc. Was a bit concerned about leaving vehicle without someone actually being there, but very convenient location. Loved the animals!!Bill M.

The rep I had originally talked to had led me to believe that I was to receive a different truck and trailer to pick up an old 1956 vehicle ( 3 days prior ). When I arrived to pick up the rental , a much different set up was waiting for me ( not a big deal really ) except I was notified minuits before I was to go that I would have to waive accident coverage , or make detours to pick up a different trailer at a different location , since the computer had no specs on my vehicle and the trailer may not be suitable. BOO. Not Cool. I had already took the day off to get this move done , and was on a tight schedule , so I could not make other arrangements ( bad weather was a consideration as well). I went anyway without any issues at all. I had about 40 minutes to spare to return the rental before the business closed. The only concern I had with the rental truck was the terrible tires which were not at all suited for Alberta winter roads. I'm fortunate that I have driven these types of trucks while doing service work , so I had some experience with how they handle , but the tires did really suck.robert B.

I requested a truck to be available at Sherwood Park, AB and got my confirmation, but I was told the day before to pick it up instead at Ponoka which is 115 km and 1.5 hours. That created an extensive complication as I had to find someone to drive me there at 630 am and pay additional $100 in gas. Creating all kind of inconveniences to me and my family.Euclides M.
The contracts need to be clear. The truck was on empty, I was told it was at 1/4 tank and I was being given a credit of $40 as it wasn't full. I would remember if someone said "the truck is on empty". In addition, I was given until Tuesday morning for return, yet the contract contradicted itself and said 2 day rental. Finally, when I called to confirm the rental, the details were incorrect either because I use a Mac and its PC based program, or something didn't transfer over. Rental was booked weeks in advance for pick up in West Edmonton with emailed confirmation. 2 days before pick up was told pick up was now in Ponoka. This meant I had to drive 100 km each way from Edmonton to pick up the unit. I spoke to a CSR who told me " Thats all she could do". On returning the unit I was also told "Sorry but tough luck" The unit was dirty, very dusty inside, clearly not cleaned. The 1 set of tail lights were also not working but was also told "1 of them was so don't worry". I had also rented a furniture dolly and 2 wheeler, on pick up was informed they did not have one, although was all confirmed in the contract confirmation email. I am very displeased about the quality and complete mishandling, lack of customer "service" and indifference exibited by UHaul in this transaction not to mention the additional cost incurred in terms of gas and time.Philip M.

I had asked to pick up the truck in Lacombe, not in Ponoka. This added a fair bit more running around than I wanted to do. I would have preferred to have an option of an alternate location to pick up - Red Deer for instance in this case - would have been much better for me. Also, some of the items I had requested were not available. I had asked for 24 blankets but only got 6 and I had asked for a flat furniture dolly but did't get one. That was disappointing. I was 'compensated' with more time and more miles but that didn't really help - I still had to dig up other blankets and we had to carry things a lot more than I wanted...Kevin P.
