A little confusing at first but Agent came out of the office(it wasn’t easily apparent where the office was) and helped me. The van floor was quite dirty but overall it got the job done and was convenient and reliable.

Having moved around quite a bit, we've rented our fair share of trucks, and let me tell you, some of those experiences have been pretty rough. But this U-Haul rental? It was hands down the worst ever. Seriously, I doubt I'll ever use U-Haul again after this. First off, they booked me for mobile check-in instead of a proper counter check-in, but didn’t give me any heads up about what that meant. So after a 5-hour drive, we pull up expecting to check in quick, like U-Haul promises. Nope! Turns out they couldn’t find my reservation at all. Why? Because 5 years back, my hubby and I rented a truck with my number and his email/credit info. This time, I set up a new account with my email and a different credit card, and the only thing that stayed the same was my phone number. For some bizarre reason, they decided to link that number to my husband's account. What if that person happened to be an ex or someone I don’t even talk to anymore? What if I’d changed my number? Why would you mix accounts when I literally made a new one for this reservation? After an hour on the phone, something like 20 sign-in tries, and a gazillion verification codes, the rep finally figured it out. So, now we had to go through the whole photo and license scanning rigmarole that could’ve been done ahead of time. Seriously, if you wanna confirm who I am, just ask for a selfie! But no, we were stuck doing all this on moving day. Finally, after 1 hour and 45 minutes, we get the truck. Oh, and the rep wasn’t even going to change my pick-up time. I had to request that since we got there on time, and it wasn’t our fault it took forever to check in. Now, let’s talk about dropping it off. Another lot with no one around. You’d think drop-off would be easier, right? Nope! After going through all the pics and U-Haul’s requirements, I was about to finish my drop-off when bam! A pop-up says I owe an extra $56 because we went over our mileage and returned the truck with less gas. First off, we had 15 miles left to go, so definitely didn't go over our mileage, plus we returned it with a quarter tank more than when we picked it up. I refused to pay, so I called customer service again. After explaining, I asked for a text or email confirming we dropped the truck off because I wasn’t paying that ridiculous fee. The rep sent me a text saying "he spoke to me about the situation", but that didn’t prove anything, so I had to walk him through what I wanted him to say—something like “the customer dropped off the keys at such and such a time, and the truck’s been returned.” The next morning at 7:15, I get a call from some lady asking why the truck hasn’t been returned. I tell her it has and start explaining, but she literally hangs up on me mid-sentence! I called back asking for someone from the location we dropped off to give me a call. A few hours later, the manager called and admitted they were wrong about the mileage and since we didn’t go over, they’d “give us the benefit of the doubt” about the gas. Benefit of the doubt? You had the pics showing we returned it with a quarter tank more, so there was no doubt at all! They’re super quick to hit you with extra charges for every tiny thing, but do you really think they’d ever consider giving a refund if you bring the truck back with more gas? This was the worst experience ever. U-Haul made our moving day way more stressful than it already was. If you absolutely have to rent a U-Haul, steer clear of the mobile check-in. What a total disaster. Never again, U-Haul!

I had a very positive pick-up experience. The system worked perfectly from online reservation to pick up. The staff person who helped me was fantastic. He made sure everything was set up properly and safe. I would recommend this location.

We were charged a 100.00 fee for safe moving that we were never told about. Very unprofessional and we are really disappointed as we are not made of money. I don't know if I'll ever rent another uhaul.

I arranged my move one month in advance to be out of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. I hired Movers through U-Haul, two storage units through U-Haul, a U-Haul through U-Haul as well as moving equipment. I was called the morning before my move to notify me that my truck would not be available in the town where my storage unit was and where I had requested it. I was forced to drive three hours round-trip to pick up a truck from Greenfield, Massachusetts to make my move. I asked to speak to a supervisor as this was an unacceptable location to make a customer drive to. I spoke with two separate U-Haul representatives, neither of which apologized at any point for the inconvenience and were very rude and dismissive of my concerns, stating the website notifies customers that they will be called the day before their pick up to notify them of the location to pick up their truck. It would be one thing if it was 10 to 15 minutes away, this location was an hour and 30 minutes plus each way. I would not have paid to have a storage unit in Pittsfield, Massachusetts if my U-Haul was going to come out of Springfield Massachusetts. When the movers arrived, In pittsfield to start my move after I had picked up the truck, I was notified that my storage unit was in a warehouse and was supposed to be requested 24 hours in advance to be pulled out for my move. This is very confusing because I scheduled the entire move through U-Haul to be that day so I’m not sure where the confusion came from. Thankfully, the location was able to get my unit out, but it caused a delay in my move and caused me to have to pay movers a significant amount of additional money. When the movers were unloading my belongings into my new house, I noticed there were multiple items that had been damaged while being stored. A bookcase and two large storage units are completely water damaged and had to be thrown away. I’m so frustrated with the experience. I haven’t even begun to try to recoup my money for the damaged items as I highly doubt it’s going to be a smooth process based on all of my other dealings with this company. The move cost around $4000 through U-Haul and it is likely the last time I will ever use their services. Yankee self storage would have been a fine location if I actually needed to pick up a truck from Greenfield. The person working in the store was very kind

The service there was not very good. My app kept crashing as I was trying to do mobile pick up AND drop off. I did have 2 bars but it could just have been the app being bad. Car was not clean in the cabin. I took pictures upon pick up.

I misunderstood about the need to look immediately at the text sent to me, and missed the window to complete the form to evaluate the condition of the truck. I didn’t see the text until after we’d gotten home and the link had expired. You could make that bit more clear. Otherwise great service here and very quick pickup.

I requested a dolly which wasn’t in the truck,never got a call back and had to cancel my move because we needed the dolly. They had my phone number and email so no excuse for not getting ahold of me before I needed the truck so I could make other arrangements. Very poor customer service, I reached out to U-haul directly as well and they were not helpful at all either.They said I’d get a refund for the dolly but nothing for the inconvenience or compensation for having to cancel my move and send the 6 people home I paid to help me move.

I want to say that your computers or someone isn't putting the right info and your staff has told me different information on the phone. I am still very up set over this.. If someone wants to rent from you, I will tell them to rent some place else. I seem to have some problem every time i rent from you. Thank you very much.

The pickup was difficult. The drop off was just as difficult. We needed references which was a surprise. The gas was empty when we got the U-Haul - with no real way of reimbursing us for the gas we left in it. Parking was difficult.

What a ripoff. I had to drive there and back because the dispatch center said there wasn’t another 20 ft in Pittsfield. That was incorrect. It cost me 200.00 dollars more. Beware folks. The guy that runs this location was very helpful. It’s the u haul process that sucks.

The advertising on the website made the site appear as if the storage unit was a roll up at ground level. It is not. It is a barn and the foundation is a foot off the ground. I needed to roll something in and didn't find this out until I arrived. That is false advertising. The big selling g point for me was that the property manager lived on site and was very friendly so it gave me the confidence my items would not be stolen.
